Hi,Everytime when ASV, which is running on a second computer via WideFS, downloads new data and comes to the "ActiveRadar" message, the screen of my FS9 computer gets black for a tenth of second and the sound is shortly interrupted. Then everything runs fine again. But as you regularily update weather this happens at every update cycle.Any idea about this? As my FS9 PC is quite powerful and I have constant framerates of 20-40 depending on scenery without stuttering it would be fine, if I can get rid of this phenomenon. As I don't use ActiveRadar I have deactivated it on my FS9 PC by moving the DLL to a backup directory to get better frames. Might this be the reason ?Regar…

The ASV installation program told me that it was backing up my default textures. Does ASV overwrite any ground textures or just clouds? I'm asking because I have FsScene 2004 and would like to know if I need to re-install the ground textures on top of ASV.ThanksMichel Legein

I am trying to install ASV on a WideFS computer but I cannot get permission to read/write in program files, when I try and share it on the network it tells me it wont because the OS is using it. Is there some kind of work around this? ThanksAnd hopefully this will be my last post until the one where I rant for 200 lines on how good FS looks ;)

Sorry to ask all these questions, but ASV is so intriguing. I just saw it had Wake Turbulance modeled (does it not do anything?!) and wonder if that happens when flying online with other aircraft?Thanks

I have noticed this just recently... although I am suspicious that it has been happening since I had ASV installed. I don't remember ever seeing this in AS2004.5Anyways what is happening is that I am getting inconsistent readings between FS's weather (read by pressing Shift+Z to look at the winds), ActiveRadar, and some aircraft panels I have which have wind gauges in them (for example, PSS Airbus, Feelthere CRJ, etc).The differences between FS' Shift+Z display and the wind gauges are usually only in direction, not magnitude. Right now I am cruising from KGEG to KDEN and the FS display is showing 214/49. My Airbus wind indicator is reading 231/48. What is causing this…

ASV will not stop "connecting to HiFi Datanet". Or at least its not finishing this step. The program ran fine for a couple of days, and out of nowhere this popped up. Any idea whats causing it? Ive tried a reinstall and repair and no change, my internet connection is also running fine, since Im posting here that should be obvious!!!! Its a bit of a pain since while its doing this I cant even get into the options menu. Any info would help since Im still new to ASV, thanks in advance!Danny

I've noticed a few times that I've had what seemed like a gust of wind push the plane down when I'm about 200 AGL. Sometimes less maybe, but I know it's very close to the TDZ. Tonight after flying a hop, I was landing at Birmingham, Alabama. I wanted some storm activity from Dennis. ;) Well all was fine until about 200 - 300 feet AGL then BAM! It was like someone pushed my plane into the ground and there wasn't time to recover. :( I had been watching for traffic in the low vis conditions, and none were around. I need some help. What am I doing wrong?Thinking I'd fly through the hurricane I set in a New Route into the ASV-FS Active page from Pensacola FL to Macon GA, a flight of 224 nm; everything looks OK on the second page, "wx Report and Nav Log" page except the destination airport idents in the Destination wx : KMCN and Aloft Winds Report by Waypoint windows.The "Destination wx: KMCN window" lists weather at a station with the ident of DGAA. I don't know where DGAA is located but it is 5015 nm away .The "Aloft Winds report by Waypoint window" gives winds for DGTK. I don't recognize that ident either.Both idents (DGAA and DGTK) sound like foreign airports, which country…

Hi, I don't think my problems are necessarily due to ASV.But, I ran AS2004.5 without any problems. After installing ASVI have had one problem after another. I have uninstalled and reinstalled ASV so many times I think maybe I am in danger or wearing it out. I used the program last night and it didn't give me any trouble. Today, when I opened another program, ASV stated to try to install over the top of it. I closed both and clicked on the ASV icon. ASV didn't open. Instead it tried to install. This is a reoccuring problem as far as the fantom install is concerned. But the activation from another programs exe file is new. I also got the "run-time error 339" regar…

Is there going to be an update that allows us to adjust the strength of thermals? Even with the 325 beta update they are still far to strong for light aircraft so I have to turn them off.

I have ASV with 512x512 textures set, I have see that in the environment control panel of ASV there are a lot of options for the clouds.My question is: not considering the loss of frame rates, what's the better setting between "edge type" and "edge variation" options for the clouds for to have conditions like the reality?And I want to know also another thing: In the video setting of FS2004 what's the better setting (also not considering the loss of frame rates) in the "Sight Distance" and "Cloud Draw" for to have always conditions like the reality?

Hi Jim,I have ASV and for the last few weeks have not had a problem. Just yesterday I got a CTD without any error report. I had used a lear 35 that I have not used since the install of ASV. I thought it was the cause. Then I used another plane that was used with ASV before and the same thing. I have not added or change anything on the system, nor added any other addon. I did just start using the AI update button. I tried two flights without ASV and had no problem(I used the same planes). I do use FS auto start, but have never had a problem before. I was in a multiplay host yesterday with three other,s we all started our engines then our engines just stopped excepet for 1 so we started them again a few seconds later they stopped .Three of us using ASV5 and SU2 and the other using FS weather he had no problems so we turned of ASV problem gone and it didnt matter what aircraft we tried we even reset out fsuipc...the engines would stop if we had them at idle if we incresed them to 1000rpm they would keep running.. anyone else had this problem pls help..

Hi, Quick question, I have ASV set to update weather after my flight has been loaded. The software even states that its waiting for me to load my flight. For some reason, though, it decides to start updating before I start the flight... How can I prevent this??Adam

I posted this in part earlier, but want to use it again as a preface to a question after a flight I just took:"I just tried a flight at KMSL where they are reporting 5 miles in Haze all around there. With FS 9 Haze depicted one climbs out and rises above the layer, and the ground is not visible in the murk which is realistic. However at high altitudes there is ring of low visibility persisting around the plane but in the distance the ground is clear. Very unrealistic. FS9 is not very good about creating long haul routes very accurately, or directly. For example say Seattle to Schipol. However if one uses the flight planner and chooses direct GPS, one gets a good representation of a Great Circle route. There are only two points start and finish however.If one enters this into the ASV New Route box, there are no waypoints obviously.1. What would one lose weather depiction wise, by doing this Direct GPS flight as opposed to entering some 40 waypoints using the FS 9 planner?2. I am a new user to this program. With only a few flights I am enjoying it.
