Hi,i noticed a couple of times that ActiveSky 2004.5 as well as the recent released ASV is not able to import FS Flightplans generated by FOC 2003. At the moment i load this Flightplans into FS and just save them again. After doing this ASV imports the Flightplan without any problems. As other programms (FlightKeeper, RadarContact, FS9 ...) have no problems with importing FOC 2003 flightplans i thought it's maybe only a small thing that you are able to fix within minutes. Would be great if you could do so and would save me doing the additional steps (importing and resaving the plan in fs). Thanks for listening and best regardsjanoschP.S. if you need a FOC 2003 generated fli…

hello, this option is on by default. Does 'depict fs9 haze layer' mean 'Show fs9 haze layer' or 'remove fs9 haze layer'?and because fs9 haze layer disables asv built in haze, why is that option on by default?regardsLuca Zappala'

I would kind of like a feature like this, to be notified via email about upcoming patches or new build that are available as well as tips or settings example 512x512 installation and clouds needed to be mipped after purchase you know what i mean.Sort of like a subscription form, with unofficial and official releases. Anyway just thought i'd give this idea and see what you guys at hifi think and other simmers too!!!

Hi there,I just come from the Flight1 forums where I was discussing some problems I was experiencing with my Cessna 172R.I'm a bit in a draw here since it seems that opinions are devided (as usual) about what is the cause of my problem. For starters the problem I'm having I have described as follows on the Flight1 support forums:/quoteHi all,First off, two thumbs up for a great plane! I really enjoy flying this one. However, I seem to have a problem flying it in autopilot mode.Whenever I choose to cruise with the autopilot active sooner or later my plane ends up in trouble stalling due to the autopilot not correcting the altitude correctly for some odd reason. For example, …

The manual contains this line - "Note: If you are using ICS or random startup modes, any changes you make here in the AE interface can interfere with proper random/ICS operation."What does that mean? If I create a new theme or change the textures in the AUTOSAVE theme, it'll mess up ICS and random operation? I'd like to be able to use Manual or ICS/Random modes depending on my mood, so why would it cause problems?

A great program but I have encountered three glitches running it on two computers:1. Active Radar installed with the upgrade works but only until I reboot. Then I have to install it again.2. AE updates will not accept Submit. I get "Error on submit...FS target: J:" with FS9 folder being mapped to J.3. AE Environment options box has several items highlighted all the time, or once highlighted they stay that way, so I cannot select any one of them. Some help would be appreciated.Peter Lowry

hello, i just bought activesky 5 and was wondering how i can set the height of the diffrent weather layers in order to get something like fog or haze BETWEEN the mountains, means below 2500 m and like above 1000 m.and out of content i discovered an other problem, the big lonely clouds are very transparent, so that all cirrus clouds in the background shine completely through.http://www-e.uni-magdeburg.de/tbonin/pic/sky.jpgis this a general fs2004 problem or can i prevent this somehow ?thanks, regards tom.

Hi,I'm using WideFS and FSUIPC®. FSSkyWorld is sitting the FS PC, with AVS ready to be installed on the client.FSSKY does not have a removal tool on my FS PC, but I see that's installed on G:FSSkyWorld with reference to My Documentsetc. Can this all be simply removed without screwing up my installation. I'd like to know this before updating my 2004.5 installation. Many thanks,Ron - CYEG

Is ASV properly reporting wind gusts to FS?I ask this because the decoder window does not show the gust value and, more importantly, Radar Contact 4 is not reporting wind gusts when it provides ATIS. I checked with another tester (who is using a different weather program) and RC4 does report wind gusts.BTW: I also saw this problem with AS4.5 just before converting over to ASV - I forgot about it until now.Let me know so that I can investigate further if necessry on the Radar Contact side.Thanks.-michael

Hello All,For some odd reason the Flight1 Meridian's panel views sort of flash when, for example, clicking on a glass gauge to enlarge it. Only happens AFTER ASV is loaded. Never happened with former versions of ActiveSky. I tried reinstalling the Meridian, changing video drivers, etc. Def something to do with ASV latest version. What flashes is a remnant view of a different part of the panel. I am using a GeForce 6800 GT, with prior driver than the current release, which actually is worse. Prob have to go back to 4.5, which is unfortunate!Noel

Hi all,Recently there have been some issues with the server missing or providing wrong dates. Also some maintenance was done by the HiFiSim team. To prevent extra work and frustration, I suggest that any planned/known work on the server is announced in a pinned topic (or even -if possible- in ASV itself). Once the work is over, the topic can either be closed or removed. As mentioned, right after the SU2 release this is a very minor suggestion, though I also mentioned it here: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=19059&page=Just thought to drop it in a new topic so people can react.Kind regards,Henk-Jan

Is that normal?thanks for this updateLuigi ;-)

Ok, so its dusk and Im sitting on the taxiway after getting my clearances when I see a bluish fog in the distance approaching. It slowly creeps up enveloping the plane and the entire sky. Then it eats the textures right off my VR cockpit, the runways, taxiways and anything in its path. Must be some of that LA acid rain Ive heard about! Ha! Happens everytime then I noticed that it appears just after the second update scrolls across the top of the screen. I disabled the /dynamics/TAF and it stopped doing it. Any Ideas?? Ive seen some strange wierdness in fs2004 but this tops them all.

Not sure whether the program actually crashed, but it does not seem to respond when I quit flight sim and try to open up the ASV window to close it. Sometimes I can see the text "writing WX stations" or something like that. But it still says "active" on the menu name.Is there something wrong? I am wondering whether it is freezing during my flight? Thanks for any help-Alex

I can't seem to download current conditions. The best I can get is archived data from 18Z today. Is this an issue with my end or yours? Thanks.

Hi,I ran AS2004.5 without any problems. I installed ASV and have had some strange stuff happen. I looked through the forum but did not see any posts that seemed to reflect what I have experienced. I appologize if I missed them and this is old stuff. The problem started after running ASV several times with the shortcut trying to install the program instead of opening it. The install would fail though. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice. Ultimately I had to reinstall windows because the windows update failed.I don't know if the windows problem was related to the ASV problem. But, now with a fresh windows XP install, I reinstalled ASV. Again it ran fine for about 6 times…

Gentlemen, Saturday night flying into KSLC I was surprised by a thunderstorm and lightning like I have never seen before. The turbulence and lightshow along with rain and winds were amazing. Well Done. ASV was worth the price I paid.

Hi,I found a small bug in the way the flight plans are calculated between lat/long points. Here is a sample from one of my flight plans:FIX DIST MC MH WDIR WSPD TEMP TAS GS ETEELANA 21.3 265 264 85 14 4.4 250 263 40168W 59.9 97 96 85 14 4.4 250 236 150169W 34.3 231 228 72 19 4.6 250 266 7IRAJA 92.0 254 253 72 19 4.6 250 268 20As you can see, 0168W to 0169W should be a westerly heading instead of an easterly heading.Nothing major, just wanted to let you know!!Keep up the great work!

Im doing some cleaning of my hard drive today and noticed that in the "Add/Remove programs and also in the start icon, I have both AS2004 and AS2004.5 listed. Can I get rid of the AS2004 and just leave the AS2004.5? Or do I need both programs on my HD?

Hi,A minor annoyance really, but it makes me wonder if there is anything else not 100% correct, but ASV often looses the FS9 path. I run with WideFS, and have my MS Games (i.e. FS9 parent directory) mapped. I select the location, and save the options as requested. Next time I start up ASV, it might, or might not, complain about not knowing where FS9 is.Steve
