Hi,I'm able to use ASV just fine with no problems, unless I try to display the active radar. At that point, FS2004 will just hang. Any suggestions? I'm using the LevelD767 for my plane. This doesn't appear to happen with the default aircraft. I posted in the LevelDForum, and they suggestd that I post here. Thanks,John

Still flying Microsoft Flight Sim 2002.The other day KIAH had visibility was down to 2.5.ActiveSky picked up the correct cloud layers but visibility was still at 10 miles. I waited waited an waited nothing happened. Is it required to manually adjust the OvercastHorizonVis & RainVisReduction? If it showed up on the metar that vis was 2.5, wouldn't activesky aoutomatically set FS2002 to 2.5? Whether or not those are true? Here is my INI://wxRE configuration file - be careful with edits here[General]WXREOfflinePath = C:Program FilesActiveSky wxREExportPath = C:Program FilesActiveSky wxREOperationMode = OnlineDefaultOfflineFile = defcycle02Z.wxdDisableCloudTransitions = Tru…

G'dayJust writing to make both an observation of my experience in both FS9 and comparing it to real life regarding the density of CB generation using AS V.From using AS V since its release using the default options i was a little surprised about the lack of cells being generated when in ASV.I did a few tests and even modding a metar and TAF to indicate OVC CB with TSGR i would only get 3-4 cells within 20-20 nm of the airport.Using the wx configurator would lead to the same results.Yep there was lightning and thunder but only about 3-4 anvils in sight. Now from my real world experience a met report of OVC will mean there will be a lot more than 3-4 active cells in sight an…

a couple of questions, I was just doing somr VFR in the NY area first time online with ASV and have some questions.1)Before I launched FS I put in my FP N51-KMMU 1500 ft and it processed it but the navlog never changed from DGAA or that airport forget which. It said that KMMU was about 4400 miles away, ive heard of such probs but cant remember the solution2)Whenever ASV fetched Metars either automatic or by the fetch box it wasnt vatsim's weather, the weather did update for vatsim, but the metars were the normal online, is that normal? Thanks

Hi there,I ran into some odd problems since I installed the latest beta update.Whenever ASV is updating weather and I am in FS9.1 while checking something in a different window like: world map, flight planning, etc. It has a tendency to crash FS completely. I get a black window and that's the end of it.This happens with default FS planes and scenery as well as with add-ons. I'm using the higher level textures and let ASV update the weather while I'm flying.Does anyone have a clue what could be the cause of this? I'm running a fairly ok system (I think :()P4 2.8 Ghz processor1G ramATI Radeon 9800 Pro gfx cardI cannot find any consistancies in the crashes other than that I'…

Greetings, I've been having some problems with ASV, and they got worse when I uninstalled AS2004.5. I have a couple of questions. First do I need to have AS2004.5 installed after I've installed the upgrade? A follow-up on that is do I always have to keep my old AS2004 and AS2004.5 in order to reinstall the ASV upgrade. Second question, is it possible ASV and AS2004.5 interfere with each other causing me to not be able to change op[tions in my ASV options menu i.e. the default cloud thickness previously discussed in an earlier post. I really enjoy the added realism ASV provides and hope to be able to take advantage of its features. I thank you in advance for your assistanc…

So the way I understand it... offline sequencing is supposed to take a series of separate WX .dat files (say 00Z, 01Z, 02Z, and 03Z) and load them up as you fly a route, so that you are using weather from the more recent 03Z DAT file instead of relying on the TAF from the 00Z DAT file. Right? If so, then how does this work? Because apparently for me it isn't. Here's a step-by-step of what I am doing... and maybe someone can point out to me what I need to change? So after creating a flightplan I start ActiveSky and press the download button.I enter in the hours I want, plus some subsequent hours (Say I want 00Z and then download the next 5 hours). At this point, ASV will d…

I seem to be full of complaints today so apologies but I am getting drastic visibilty changes when flying over Sydney today - see screenshots - with this metar. Below about 4200 ft vis drops to what it is in reality if you look out the window - the weather today is really quite foul, but above this alitude in an instant it turns into a fine sunny day!!YSBK 300400Z 05021G32KT 3500 -RA FEW015 SCT022 BKN030 17/14 Q1019 FM0400 04025G45KT 8000 -RA FEW015 SCT025 BKN040 TEMPO 0400/0700 4000 RA BKN012 All defaults except FS haze which is disabled and ASV build 325.Realistic visibility variations has been an ongoing hassle for me, I've posted before on this and so far there doesn…

Something strange happened more times with ASV: when on final, about 100 ft, autopilot not engaged, I get a sudden rudder and ailerons half-way deflection (about 60-70%) to one side, the airplane banks and it's difficult to get control over it.If I close ASV, cancel weather conditions and retry the approach, all is normal.Has this something to do with a kind of shear during short final?ThanksJames

Hi gang,Just some ideas for the update. At the moment we have a refresh button can we also have a pause button? Reason being that you open AS then you load FP and ICS submits the info. When you open up FS the standard flight loads and the weather goes to KESA then you must refresh etc for the weather to be reported correctly. Another thing is I was flying in some areas e.g. LBPG and the weather was reported ad DTTG instead any answers for this?

I purchased the ActiveSky V upgrade (current ActiveSky 4.5 user). I run ActiveSky 4.5 on my laptop computer that connects to FS via WideFS. I have network shares setup so that I have access to FS dirs on the FS PC.The problem, during my install process (on my laptop) of ActiveSky V, it asks for the location of FS9.exe, when I select browse to point to my shared folder (on the FS PC) it does not show any network shares in the browse dialog so I can't point it to my FS9.exe.So, I guess my question is, how do I make ActiveSkyV install/upgrade on a remote PC that uses WideFS and shares to the FS PC?Thanks, Rob.

One, regarding the MipMap conversion. I did this in the AE interface, but this applied to all clouds right? In other words, I don't have to convert each texture. Also, on the start up sequence. To make sure ICS/Randoms are working, it says to load your flight plan into ASV and then start FS9. It's kinda a pain in the @$$ to start FS9, create a flight plan, exit FS9, load ASV and go from there just to restart FS9.What I did in AS2004.5 was start FS9, get everything ready, then when FS9 was done loading my flight, I hit refresh on AS.Will ICS/Randoms not work if FS9 is running at all?? If not, then how can I be sure the textures are submitted? Do I load the plan into A…

okay, for some reason I dont think my weather is updatingI go to WX config (offline for now) and choose like blizzard and click apply, then update, and it goes throught its airport list (btw how fast should that happen) and says its complete but nothing happens. I am pretty confused and want to get this to work. Thanks

G'day all, im new to all this, and did do a search but couldnt really answer my question, so i apologise if i am repeating someone else. But i recently got ASV and im a little confused as i seem to get unlimited visibility in places such as hong kong (and everywhere else.)It says vis: 9999 sm:10. Is there a way you can get the haze and low visibility due to the haze that exists in real life through ASV? Or can i only do this via the default weather in FS9.Just wondering how i can get this to work. Same as places like Tokyo.I have followed the manual on how to set up the ASV options aswell, and im using online updates. Thanks for your time, Mike.

I can't seem to upload any screenshots.I had a comment about cloud formations using the ICS feature, and cloud formations just using the random feature, and had some pics that showed a vast improvement of detailed cloud formations when ICS is not selected, especially towering cumulus, but can't upload the pics. When I click on the appropriate line for uploading attachments, the box for uploading opens and then closes in a flash.Anyone else having this problem?

It's been about a week since I've been able to fly...somebody please help me. :) I have FS9 and use the Level D 767 aircraft. I recently purchased the new ASV application. Since that time I have had constant CTD (Crash to Desktop) problems. The new ASV seems to have caused (no blame intended, just trying to diagnose and fix!) that ends up in CTD each time I try to load a flight using ASV. Until I loaded ASV I had no problems--running the LVLD 767 (and many other planes too) for literally hundreds of hours. Another comment. The new ASV requires the latest FSUIPC.dll which I downloaded and installed. I wonder if this new version could be causing problems??? In vario…

When radar range is set to, say 100 miles, is that 100 mile radius (i.e. 200 miles from top to bottom) or 100 miles from top to bottom (50 mile radius)?Mark Kuebeler

Each time I start ASV (latest build) I get an invalid METAR in the fetch window. For example...INVALID: K40B 112024Z 04007KT 27/11 RMK AO1 PKWND 014/RNO 863V264 T02720106It always seems to be the same airport code K40B. Doesn't seem to affect anything though as ASV runs great otherwise.

I have a slightly unique setup (maybe inefficient is the word), I am wondering if activesky would work with it.I have two non networked PCs, on the non flying PC I have FS Build which I use for flight planning. If I use ActiveSky can I have it on more than one PC? Or if I have it loaded on my simming PC, is there a way I could manully export (save to a disc) a file from AS to my non flying PC where I have FSbuild so as to incorporate the weather into my flight planning? Hopefully this question makes sense, it's Monday afternoon, and i am exhausted. Thanks for the help!!!

Right now I am trying to get ASV to install (got my network problems sorted out) on my WideClient computer. I chose the directory and all but it just hangs when it trys to install, so far there are no green bars, and the Status area remains blank, the HDD does not appear to be acessed.Edit: I thought it was a performance issue (the Wideclient comp is old and crappy) so I tried it on my FS comp, also hangs, both report 100% CPU use
