This is stated to fix the errors introduced by wind smoothing processing in 3.51 in breaking out the headwind and crosswind components. It affected perhaps some reports, A/P nav and FMC component reports and A/P control, etc. It would affect flight planning programs that take winds in to effect for headings and groundspeed/fuel management calculations such as FSBuild 2.x which reads directly from Active Sky 2004.5 and up.

G'day GuysFirstly a big thanks and Merry Christmas for your continued efforts with the developement of this amazing program.Thankyou.I have a question re making the reinstall job for current customers.I purchased As at the 2004.5 stage from simmarket some time ago.At the moment if i want to reinstall which i do my FS installation ever 4-5 months i have to.Install 20004.5 then all of its upgrades.Then AS5 enhanced.Then AS5 plus its upgrades.And now AS6.Is this correct or do i only need to install the base 2004.5,then enhanced then AS5 and now finally AS6.Is there an easier way like rather than upgrade links someway of verifying our purchases then sending out a single link …

I had set my turbulence scale to 3.0000 in the FS.cfg file. I set it back to 1.0000 with the new AS 6. What would be an equivalent to my setting of 3.000?Thanks

Hi, just downloaded AS6 and attempted to change options to 128x128. That was OK, but it will not allow me to check the "Use DXT instead of 32 bit" box as it is greyed out. Any reason why? Also under selection details I would like all categories to be random. Is there a way of doing this "global" or do I have to go through each category individually and click "Random All"? So, what can be "reloaded" while FS is running and what cannot? I know if I'd want different cumulus, I need to restart FS. But what about the rest?And I read in another post, only set in those two lines WX-Influenced. That right? Nothing else and my skies will always change according to weather?

Could someone explain how to properly use the "Weather Influenced" textures?Do I load AS6 with the "Weather Influenced" themes in the option screen selected with auto submit checked - input my flightplan, then just hit refresh?

hey folks,i am relatively new to ASV, and this to me has become a "must have" product. lately for some reason the visibility on my ASV is unlimited, so at altitudes like FL300 and above i can see all the awful unrendered textures off in the distance. how to i reduce the vis settings so this isn't happening? thanks,Darren

Hi allI'm trying to understand how FS9 decides whether to use snow ground textures or not. I've noticed that there are areas where it's not snowing but the ground is all white. However, there are also times when I know that a whole region is covered with snow in real life, but in FS9 it's all green, although temperatures are near or below 0 degrees.So, ho do the snowed ground textures work? Does it have to do with the weather conditions? If yes, how can FS9 tell from a METAR whether there was heavy snowfall some hours ago and thus produce a snowed scenery or not?Thanks

I have upgraded to my current ASV 5 from previous versions. Also use Flight Environnmet and am eager to check out the clouds with version 6 of Active Sky.With a whole new set of textures, clouds etc [possibly smaller in disk space requirements] introduced with new version, what files can I get rid of prior to the new installation to conserve disk space, without impairing the ability of the new version to install over the old one? I can imagine quite a few texture sets hanging around with all the upgrades over one another.Or does it install to a completely new folder allowing deletion of previous product?Would you know if I am using a water set from Flight Environment, wo…

Hi Damian,It's been a long time since I've been on the forum. I used AS awhile back. I'm very interested in the new version, as even the very early AS version I used was top notch. Will you have any screenshots up on the site showing some ominous thunderstorms? I see that you are updating the site on the 3d clouds, and hope you include some TS pics. It has always bothered me how the default MS weather would produce lightning in the thinest of clouds. I have this burning question that I have not seen answered yet.Will a dual-core cpu make running two apps, such as ActiveSky and FS9, a better experience? Or will it not make any difference at all?

Okay, guys, here is the problem, hard drive crashed, new install of FS9 in progress. Time to get ASV Enhanced up and running. I have been a customer since the WXRE days. I have only purchased upgrades from this point. Do I have to install all the builds from wrxe, too as4.0, as4.5, asv, then enhanced? I'm not even sure I have everything for the old builds anymore. Ok i was wondering how do I get wake turbulance online like on servers and on vatsim. I searched for it and found a topic about using AIBridge but when loaded up AIBridge i still did not get any wake from my friend which was a 737 and I was 3nms behind him at the same alt(yea i know traffic alert :() Is there something I have to do in AIBridge because I dont see much commands in it either.

Using AS for some time now and never had a problem. I recently installed another HDD and moved FS2004 and AS to the new drive. Since then I can install the full AS2004.5 but after that I can't install the updates.First I uninstalled AS, cleaned all reference to ActiveSky from the registry and installed again. Trying to install AS20045-Update2 I keep getting the error code 1714 - The older version of AS2004.5 Update cannot be removed. I have tried using Registry Cleaner and deleting all reference to ActiveSky from the registry again but get the same problem.What worries me is if I buy the later version, will I have the same problem installing.Any help appreciated please.Ra…
