First off this is going to be fun. I've needed this app for a long time. As a user of the original ActiveSky and WXRE this ver looks very good. The little prob I'm having is I open from shortcut and the splash screen appears,,little clap of thunder while loading then goes to task bar with no interface to be seen. Like it's minimized to the task bar. It's working ok,,glad I had it set for online. It D/L's the weather for wherever you happen to be, in other words if I don't ever need to change anything it's ok. Have configured in FSuipc and FS2004 and seems to be working great. ThanksJohn Bell

Really neat ...A bit complicated and somewhat confusing, sometimes, I've read that a simple explanation for the most common situations will shortly be given, I'm looking forward to itI'm very often getting consistent lateral shifts while in flight (general aviation, small aircrafts, about 9000 ft)I mean, It's not turbulence, just right and left shifts.Are those gusts? If you take a look at the red text above, the winds seem constant, and if you look at the ASV panel, no gusts are reported. Moreover, you cannot prevent them by checking disable gusts in FSUIPCCan someone explain?Thanx and merry christmas

I just bought and installed AS6 however it is not connecting to FS when I load it. Am I missing something?

There's one born every minute.However, in my defence I don't recall seeing anything in the documents with the D/L specifying the order in which to uninstall AS and all it's components.I did read the instructions first!Hopefully, I'm not the only one in the world that has done this, so maybe the subject line will help others...Anyway, I've got remaining ASVE and AS2004.5 in Add & Remove, and I can't remove them without getting error messages obviously relating to the fact that I uninstalled in the wrong order, as I've since read in these forums.Any help with this would be much apprecaited!CheersTimPS: Xmas eve in NZ. i'm currently running AS2004.5 B193 and i just purchased the ASv6/ASG full version. from reading some of the other threads, it sounds like i run the unwrapper 1st and then uninstall the old version. is this correct?once the old version is uninstalled i can then remove any residual files?i'm also running FS SkyWorld2004. i believe this can also be removed?thx!lookin forward to getting this up-n-running!chris

This is getting frustrating.I can't install AS6 because it can't find ASV. I uninstall/reinstall ASV and the installation seems to go fine. But, there is no icon on the desk top for ASV. I run the repair utility and still no icon and nothing in the programs menu. I restarted the computer with no luck.I thank you in advance for any help.

First off, i want to give a HUGE thanks for releasing AS6 and making it a free update, its awesome. now on to my question, i read the sticky at the top about realism and followed it. but im confused about ASG, what setting should i have? what i did is, go to selection details, sky theme, full sky theme, and select wx-influenced. then, next to sky theme it says wx-influenced, and 3D clouds, cirrus clouds, sky color, and environment have custom next to them. is this a correct setting for max realism? thanksAdam K

For the Wizard's out there........Lets say I want to install AS6 on my MAIN (FS) Machine, and a Secondary (WideFS) Machine. Can I Install on both? And If so, can I shut one down, and load up the other, without making any Option changes? So Far I've noticed that my FS9 Directory location works for 1 not the other.Lets say my FS9 Directory is set on AS6 on my FS Machine to be D:FS9 When I shut down the FS Copy and load up the WideFS Copy it reads the same directory, however there is NO C:FS9 Directory on my second machine, I have to change it to reflect the Networked drive. However, if I do that, and load up the FS Copy, it's shown as a Network path.Make sense?I'm hopi…

Am I the only one here that is having a problem with a complete lockup of the program EVERY TIME I try to fetch a METAR?I've installed AS6 on a second machine, I have it pointed to the 2 folders on my FS Machine, and when I try to look up a METAR with the Fetch a Report selection, it locks up solid.Any ideas? I Never had this problem with a past version.

I kind of posted this elsewhere, that upon starting up ASV6.0 on my remote non-FS9 computer, ASV6.0 does not want to accept my designations about where fl9.exe is located, neither where the Fs9 application data is located after numerous tries. This was never a problem for ASV/e, the prior version5.0, all my network shares worked beautifully. I have even tried to put in the paths by hand into the ASV6.0 INI config. file, ASV6.0 then overwrites the FS9.exe path "NONE", it keeps the applications data path in the INI file but then says it cant find it!! To make matter more confusing, when I start up WideFS across my network and startup FS9 with ASV6.0, lo and behold ASV find…

I still have AS2004.5 on my system well I purchased the upgrade version to ASV. I have just obtained the latest ASV6 and was wondering if it would be ok to uninstall ASV and my AS2004.5. Or can I only take the ASV off.. Kinda at a loss since I did purchase the upgrade version of ASV from AS2004.5. Oh and if I get too nervous with the removal of any of the above and decide to keep AS2004.5 and ASV. Can I still run just the latest ASV6 with no worries of conflicts? Thanks and Happy Landings,

In the past, I have always used AS4 and AS5 as just a weather engine and recently Flight Environment for textures. If I try ASG and want to go back to FE textures, do I just go to FE and load their textures, thus replacing the ones ASG loaded? I would like to try going back and forth between the two to see any differences. I am aware that ASG doesn't have any water textures so the FE ones won't be overwritten.Thanks!Marty

The idea of passing textures from my slow widefs laptop over an 11b WiFi seems a little excessive. Would it be OK to just remove the ASG from the wideFS machine, and use it on the FS9 machine instead? I guess I would give up the dynamic cirrus loading, but I'm not sure that's so important?(I don't use ActiveRadar either).scott s..

Hi there, i must say that this never happened with earlier versions.Each time i start ASV it asks me to point to FS9 folder on main machine and later to C:Documents and SettingsUsername folder.Once started i save options and close the prog.But next time i start ASV again it asks me to point to same folders...Hmmmmmmmmmm... it looks like a well experienced bug :-(What to do?thanks in advanceLuigi ;-)

Hey all,I am brand new to Active Sky, just downloaded the new version 6.I too am having a problem with unlimited visibility at high altitudes. I fly commercial jets at FL300 and higher, and have set the AS Visibility Limits to 40 miles. This appears to work at low levels, but as soon as I climb to above 10,000 to 15,000 feet, visibility goes unlimited...which basically kills the realism. There appears to be no specific level at which this happens, expect that it is under 20,000 feet. Seems to happen as I ascend above clouds levels.I have read over other posts regarding this issue, and tried the suggestions, but so far, nothing is working.Does anyone know what the prob…

Why doesnt my radar show the clouds it is only black, I know I should read the manual.

Here is what I do:1. Selected autosubmit in Active Sky2. Open Active Graphics, Click selection details and choose SKY Theme weather influenedQuestion A. Does this mean that all the graphics selections below will be weather influenced? I believe it does. What is confusing is that they all read custom below not weather influenced.3. I want to deselect certain textures so they won't be sent. I uncheck the boxes. I select send to FS, and then close. I assume only the selected texures are sent.4.
