Hi all,I am hoping someone can help me with this.I run AS6 on my non FS PC, via widefs also on this PC is FSB.A friend of mine uses FSBuild and AS together to help with his flight planning.I create my plan in FSB and then load that fs9.flt plan in AS6 and load it no problem at all and it gives me the winds for this flight, however when I go back into FSB I should be able to rebuild the plan it should drag the winds from the running AS6 and load them into my plan for planning purposes but it is not doing that?? Can someone please help me who has achieved this or Jim?!Thanks in advanceMark P

Hi All,I finally splashed out cash for As6.For a Scotsman it hurts the sporran to spend money, but I have!So, installed and AS screens working fine. (As far as I know!)I understand I need NET to connect the two programs As6 and Fs, on installation it did not suggest that I needed NET, I have XP so should be on board.Do I ned to tell it to connect? If so..how? AS6 is telling me that it is NOT connected to Fs. This is clear as rader is blank.I cannot find documents, that I am sure will anser all my questions. (See I am an optimistic Scotsman!)Any advice greatly appreciated.

is there any way to prevent stuttering while updating wx in the sim? i dont know why its starting to do this but has started happening ever since AS6..awesome product no complaining goin on just wanna know what i need to do??stephen

I don't seem to be seeing threads I start myself in this forum. I can find posts I make to other threads but not the threads I start myself. However if I use the search function I can find them and others seem to see them because I have replies - so this is a test to try to find out what is happening.Bruceb

I have flown 5 flight using the PMDG 747. Each time I use ASV6 I get a CTD enroute during a weather update. I have confirmed that the exact same flight without ASV6 does not CTD. I have turned Auto VAS off as suggested by another post but that has not fixed the problem. On my system ASV6 and PMDG are not compatible, at least when using the 747 anyway.Ray

With the release of ASVe where does this leave FE? Up until now I had a preference for FE clouds over ASV and an even stronger preference for the FE user interface - I found the ASV graphics interface quite confusing. The new Active Sky enhanced graphic interface is an improvement but IMO not as helpful as the FE one. At the very least I will want to continue using FE for its water textures. It is a pity that FE and ASVe remain competing products because it would great if there was one product combining the best features of both. So if I want to stick with FE and use the ASVe weather engine how do I do this?Bruceb

Hi all,I just purchased ASV6 yesterday, and all seems well except for there is no precipitation shown in the radar. Looking back over previous posts, I have uninstalled/reinstalled, ensured that it was visibly raining out my window, and verified that there was an entry other than 'none' on the precip line for the nearest station. I have never had a previous version of Active Sky installed, nor do I have any other add on modules (active camera, etc.) The only things I have added are aircraft and terrain meshes. Not sure what to try next. Any suggestions?My plane is shown at the correct airport in the radar display and the wind speed/direction indicator shows up as well. T…

Because I don't have ASV/E installed. What is ASV/E and why does it say that I can install the asv/6 with asv or asv/e? Any help would be great. Thank you.Scott

Hey Folks,First post bought ActiveSky on Dec 28th...grat product...slight snagI downloaded the 24hours of weather for 12-31-2005 earlier this morn with no problem and I am trying to download the first 17hours for 1-1-2006 now and I am getting an error message saying that the files I am requesting are prior to April 2005 and that these files are only available for every 4 hours and not every hour?Just thought I'd put it out there for someone to check it out. Hi, For some reason, the weather is no longer updating. Weather between Montreal and Washington destinations has remained the same for the last 4 days and that can't be right. No problems previously. Latest build installed. I seem to recall something about having to clear out some type of folder that may have been responsible, but I couldn't find it on previous posts. Hi DamianBeen testing ASv6 a lot over the past couple of days...First observation is that a lot of stations in Canada have no metar in AS even though they are reporting. Checked several sites on the web to confirm that they are indeed reporting. Also verified that most of them already exist in FS. This is mostly for CW* stations.Source problem?With the recent breakthrough in adding stations to FS, I am thinking of compiling a list of new/changed/obsolete stations. But I would like to know how you want such information. I assume the wx_station_list.txt is a complete list of all stations currently in FS?Right now I am looking at airports in Indonesia. Hi,first of all thanks for the excellent upgrade !I have two computers and on my older P4 2.0 Laptop I have some performance problems now.With ASV5E I had 128*128 textures with DXT3 and MipMaps enabled.Now with ASV6 I have approximately 30% less fps with 64*64 textures and DXT3 enabled. I could not find any option for Mipmaps !?Not meant as a complaint, I am of course not a measure with that old Laptop. But would you recommend to go back to ASV5 in such a case ?Mike

Hi,There have been so many posts about all kind of dual installations that I'm not sure to understand for sure what can be done or not.I currently have a 2 PC installation over WideFS that works. I would like to also be able to sometimes not use the WideFS client PC, and just launch ActiveSky on the FS PC. I think it is possible to also install ActiveSky on the FS PC, and it will work. There does not seem to be anything in the FS folder that points to Activesky locations, so this should work. Is this right ?However, I'm not sure about ActiveRadar. How does ActiveRadar connects to Acivesky? I haven't seen anything in its ini file. This question is for my personal knowledge…

i've just purchased AS2004 and when i run the install.exe the wizard comes back with: error1606:could not access network loacation f:/flight simulator 9. any ideas? i keep fs9 on a separate hard drive (f:)along with my other flight sim programs,,nothing else on that drive,,,fs runs fine and i havn't run into this problem installing other add-ons before,,anyway around it ? i have been reading some of the threads concerning as 6 and flight environment. i am interested in using FE for the water scenery and AS6 for weather and clouds. can someone kindly clarify exactly what steps must be used to run both active sky 6 and the water portions of flight environment at the same time? is it possible to switch back and forth or is there a point where the selection is final? steve chavin

Two flights with 2 different airplanes (PMDG 737NG and LDS 767) causes crashe to the desktop upon trigging of autogenerated VAS points with following flight plan MUHA UNG UG435 ITANA MIKUS MPTO.The first CTD occured on initial approach to MPTO and the second occurs after passing waypoint UNG.The VAS options are set to default. Just a screenshot of some beautiful clouds using ASV6. Shot doesn't show it but there were 3 distinct layers that could be seen. Fantastic! And the framerate hit isn't bad. Hi Everyone:I have been using this product since its inception, and after reading the manual a little closer, it appears I may have been starting up ASV wrong.I have ASV options set at un-pause refresh.After loading FS9 I would then bring up ASV6 and wait for it to download the weather and continue from there.It appears I should actually bring up ASV6 prior to loading FS9 then import my flight plan and hit refresh.After ASV6 loads, I then open up FS9, and continue on with my flight plan.Any comments welcome.
