On every flight i am using asv6, after a couple of downlaod refreshes, I get a mainthread process error...retrying at next interval. I am using version 446 and fsuipc 3.53. I have tried reinstalling asv6 several times adn i still the same message. The only way to get it to start processing weather is to open the options, reset it to default, restart asv6 and then chnage my settings to online updates and other settings...autosubmit. then i have to close out asv6 and then restart it and it will then start processing weather. For anyone who says ASv6 doesnt give you a performance hit well the pics should tell it all focus on the framerate in the upper right hannd corner and what the weather is doing. I cant figure out how you can go from 60 fps to 14 when ASv6 takes over I am even using 64x64 dxt clouds and one more thing. When my weather says overcast its not you can still see the ground. This stinks...

I have recently purchased and installed ASv6, and everything works fine (using WideFS), except for one small problem. When I open ActiveSky Graphics, the Quick Select window shows as in the manual. But if I select the category "Selection Details", the quick select window moves over to the left just enough to cover the left side of selection details so that I cannot see or use it. However, if I open the Browse window, it works fine and sits on top of the quick select window so that I can use it. I cannot seem to get the selection details window on top so that I can see or use it.Any advice would be appreciated.

A few weeks ago I posted here regarding cloud "edges" appearing when using DXT 64x64 clouds. Well, after the service update the edges are nowhere to been seen :) I just wanted to take a moment and say thanks to Chris and the AS6 team. On occasion, during the normal online update, I get the following error in a dialog:"There was an error ... Submit failed .. Object reference not set to an instance of an object"The initial download of weather, creation of navlog and update of clouds worked fine. Then, this error pops up during the flight.FYI: I use AS6 on a WideFS client. All required FS host directories are shared and are accessible from multiple hosts (flight sim related and not) on this same network.-michael

Read a great review of AS in PC Flight (Pc Pilots of Ireland).Also read the web-site and there is refernce to a setting for "VATSIM" weather.Is there a capability for use on the IVAO network?Just checking before spending the money!KH.

I have not installed the update to ASV6.This may just be a fluke because I have *never* had any errors with ASV6 or earlier versions but on my last flight I got an error message - IIRC it said submit error - showed the path and a filename ( a sunset bmp, I believe ) - the error was "File in use by another process"It has not repeated so I'm not concerned but since I hadn't seen the "in use by another process" mentioned in prior posts, I thought I'd let you know. My FS shadow preference is scenery shadow off, aircraft shadow on. With shadows on, they always appear regardless of the wheather. Would it be possible to add (yet another ;-)) option in AS to have auto switching on/off of separately scenery and aircraft shadows depending on the weather? I don't know if it's possible at all. If so, switching off/on shadows while in flight will probably cause severe stutters? Anyhow, I think it would be a nice feature that could improve FPS during bad weather (if shadows are on per default user setting). Maybe you guys can look into this?Kind regards,Henk-Jan

So far I have been pretty happy with the results.Just wanted to make sure my ASG settings were right though: basically I want AS to select the best cloud/sky/whatever textures based on the current weather. About 2 weeks ago I saw a screenshot of a FS9 which showed a L-1011 (I think it was the vistaliners one) climbing and there was 2 layers of heavy clouds like a blanket and the view was that the L-1011 was above the lower heavy blanket and under the upper heavy layer, like in between with open free space and it was a dusk time shot. I tried searching for it and can't find it now.You know like if you have 3 bookes piled up. The bottom and the top one would be red, the middle one would be blue. Hi all.I am finding the online update of the vatsim weather to be off. In a check tonight, the downloaded weather was shown as being 090000Z whereas doing a check on SB3 the metar time was shown as 090100Z. Basically, an hours difference.It seems that, in general, the AS6 weather is about an hour off from the vatsim server. Is this normal?, can it be corrected?.Regards,Christian Conesa.

Hi,The first things is, each time you start up Fs2004, the engine use by random differents type of clouds formation, it's almost impossible to always have the same clouds formation on the screen at the same time, this is means a person testing 2 Msfs on 2 computer will not have the same clouds "visual" and performance started at the same time.This can create false statement on performance reports AND on how the clouds looks in the sim, sometime you can get better clouds then others time, Be aware of these important things.Clouds texture do not create the "clouds", it's only do the color, puff and edge of the clouds. I started noticing this every time I run AS (first time with ASVE, currently using AS6). While this may not ncessarily be AS related, I would appreciate some feedback. Video card is ATI Radeon 9600. Hi there,I am running AS6 via WideFS. They are talking to eachother fine, the only question is I am sat at KSEA the report on winds at KSEA when I loaded FS and it started changing the winds as I fired up AS6, however in AS6 the winds are showing 19005KT and in FS they are 179/04 Mag in the red text at the top??Am I missing the point here or?ThanksMark

I have posted this before,I'm trying again after a reinstall of AVG6(full version instead of update)i also have updated to version 1C...i have to go through this everytime.4 out of 5 times it will cause Fs2004 to crash(black screen with flickering mouse cursor)....1. to get the weather to show i have to Press ALT+ENTER to minimise Fs20042. now I can see see AVG6.No writing of weather stations3. Hi Guy's! Want to say first great work on AS#6!! I love it! But was doing a Day to Night Flight the other Night, and Noticed that the Light's On my Planes Wings turned to Like a Star Looking Texture?? I don't really want this Effect, How can I make it back to Default Effects for my Light's? I think I saw this Effect Before it was part of a Download to make the Light's Look Like they have a Twinkling Look at Night, or to make it look like a Star? So Can nayone help me on getting my Orginal Light's back? Thank's MIKE

Hi, Damian/Jim:I have SU-1 installed. My understanding is that 1-C augments that patch, in particular the 2006 archive fetch issue. Correct me if I'm wrong, but does this occur when a user is attempting to recall previous WX, or does it affect ALL calls for 2006 WX between the dates in the 1-C patch notes?Since I don't use archived WX, need I install the interim? :-hmmmThanks,
