I was wondering if Active Sky has printed weather briefings with METARs, TAFs, and SIGMETS.

I purchased Activesky version {1.6.0.1741} 2004.5 late last year. However after downloading ASV6-upgrade I am unable to install it because I get a message saying 'Can't Install Unwrapper Requires That ASV/E be installed!':( I have read through the docs, but all it says is to install the ASV/E. But where do I get this from? Please Help.All the Best, Karl

I have searched the forum but am still a little confused. I wish to use FE for the water and AS6 for the weather influenced clouds etc.From reading the forum it seems that I should just load the FE water textures but it seems that I can only load full textures (Clouds, Sky and Water).I cant seem to find a way to just load the FE water.If I load a full FE texture set,then load the weather influenced AS6 weather setting for clouds will the FE water textures remain and the FE clouds be overwritten by AS6.Great work on the clouds for AS6........I definately like the weather influenced setting in AS6.....looks the most realistic as far as I'm concerned.Thanks Chris

Hello, Guys, thanks for the great's combos package, I tried others commercial weather engine and clouds, but there was always something not right with the weather, I found ASV6+ASG is the most solid result, I tested ASG+ASV6 for 1 month vs others commercial, 90% of the time ASV6+ASG was the best in various situations and metar.My hat to you guys!Enjoy my screenshotshttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=224023&page=BestAndrei

I'd appreciate if the AS6 support team could confirm for me whether I'm running everything the right way or not. The reason I ask this is because despite having a cloud resolution of 256x256 and having DXT3 cloud textures, I find that the clouds look like 32Bit cloud textures and the framerates aren't great. >I start up AS6>Once loaded I start up ASG and find that my quick select theme is already selected so I click on 'Send to FS'>I close ASG>I enter a flightplan>I start up FS and do flightIs everything I'm doing right there? Hi Folks,I really love this software, but whenever I want to install it, I need to install 4.5 first, then ASV and then V6. This is very annoying and now V6 asks me to use "repair" to repair some files...Pls give me some information.Thx!

Good Morning Damian, Jim and Chris,I have AE6SU2 and was having frame rate issues. As usual, the answer was in the forum already. Turning off auto submit did the trick.The point of this message is to say thanks for catching the ICAO name change for Glacier Park, Montana from KFCA to KPGI. I put this in a forum message at the bottom of a long chain couple of weeks ago and wasn't sure if anyone caught it. Lo and behold, did a KSLC-KGPI flight this morning and sure enough, the server said source ID=KGPI.You guys are the best in support and AE6 continues to amaze me! Hi!Before i have installed AS6, i have set the Visibility Values from FSUIPC to 3000. (Every of the three, don't know the exact name of this option, but i limits the visibility). Because, if you don't, AS6 increases the Visibilty and i have this ugly borderline in the horizon, i think you know what i mean. i allready experimented with some options of AS6, but as i know it disables the FSUIPC setting. if anyone could help it would be very nice.thxbtw. only the value 3000 in FSUIPC erases the borderline and you still have a very good visibilty.

Seeing some posts on this issue and perceiving the same problem, with lower frame rates/stuttering since installing SU2, I would like to go back to an earlier version. The last iteration of SU1 I have is C version.If I just install that over my current SU2 will that be ok to try out the earlier version to see what happens?If no better I can go back to SU2.Its the only way I can oonvince myself it is an SU2 issue and not something else with my computer.Thanks,Greg

Hi,I have AS6 SU2:As the title says, i have two problems with AS6 in combonation with VATSIM, first:- Could someone give me the correct order in which i should load up AS6, load the flightplan into AS6, load and connect to sqauwkbox 3 and open and load FS2004, for use with VATSIM online weather.-Secondly, yesterday i flew from East Midlands down to Malaga (LEMG) The METAR on VATSIM for Malaga was: LEMG 272030Z 07014KT 9999 RA FEW003 BKN015 BKN060 14/11 Q1002 NOSIG, it was also exactly the same in AS6, but as i flew into Malaga there was no rain what so ever... I don't think I am getting the startup procedure right with AS6 as my sky color and textures always look the same the world over. I am wanting the most realistic setting with the current wx conditions.-I have auto-submit checked and full sky theme and cirrus theme set to wx-influenced. -I start AS6 first in the paused state.-I enter a new route with departure/arrival/alternate/cruise speed and altitude data input. Hi everybody I have been trying to find out wether fsbuild 2.2 will import winds aloft from activesky 6 but i have had no suck luck. Can it be done? I have tried to contact Erine but to no avail either. I have followed all the tuturals and looked up the info on fsbuild but i know this prgoramme is a few years old now and I am not sure if there will be any more updates.thanks all

Damian,There are many places around the world that seem to rarely use metars, but instead issue a TAF or two each day.Wouldnt it be possible to keep the TAF, in future cycles,for an airport as long as its valid?Using the TAF to generate the metar instead of another metar hundreds of miles away would be more accurate no?I dont know if AS would accept an empty metar with a taf for a station? Maybe you could code it and generate metar based on the taf before we download.This idea really come from the lack of reporting in Africa. Stations are far between and often the metar is generated using a station that can be 500+ nm away.Hope you can think about this and figure somethin…

Hi Mike,I can't duplicate that effect. Could you give exact instructions (starting up each program in what order, etc.) for how you duplicate it?And does this stop if you disable auto-submit or disable "keep ASG open during auto-submits" ?Best,

On two occasions with SU2. Loaded ASV6 and let the initialization process complete, loaded RC4, attempted to load FS2 and got a dialog stating "Insufficient memory to run FS9" (I paraphrase). Kill ASV6, load FS9 with no problem (task manager shows no memory problems...), load ASV6 and no further error or problem noted. This has only occurred since the SU2 install and only on 2 runs out of 6 or so. What can I send to help analysis if this happens again?DJ

So anyway, Jim was nice enough to provide me with a link to the full version since I was an upgrader, and I ran it and I never received the option to repair, instead the installer went staright to the installation process which I quickly canceled (should I have let it reinstall).
