Hi all!Sometimes - maybe always connected with RVRs in the METAR - I get different visibilities than the METAR reports:http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/4691/bild15fq.jpgThe Vis should be 300m (although I think it should be one of the RVRs, since we usually land on the runway... runwaybased RVR would be the best!! ;) ) but it's at 162m... Hi fellow captains,Sorry for bringing this "washed out" subject up once again, but is there any way to have ASv6 submit all textures even though FS is already running?In previous versions this was possible although you didn't see the newly submitted textures until the next time you restarted FS.Reason I ask is becuase I like to use the random scheme for all textures on all my flights to have the most varied weather environment for each new flight but what I don't like is to sit around and wait for the online weather update to complete every time before I can start FS.Another solution would be if the online weather update was a bit faster. This is related to the "no overcast showing when above it" thread, but I figured it would be better to start a new thread than to hijack that one.Anyway, I've noticed that on shorter flights, around 100 nm or less, there are no clouds at all over the destination airport. I've downloaded an archive weather file, am offline, and have TAF processing disabled. After I download weather and process a flight plan, the destination weather will show correctly in the flight log. Upon arriving at the destination though, the ATIS always reports "clear below 12,000". Other weather - wind, visibility, altimeter - are consistent with the original download and the flight plan log. I'm considering formatting my hard drive as this build of Windows has been running for about four years. I have a 40Mb drive partitioned into 4 x 10Mb which is a bit restrictive. I'll probably install a larger HD at the same time.My question relates to getting AS6 running again. Since this was an upgrade to AS5 (which has of course been uninstalled) do I really have to reinstall AS5 again and then go through the same procedure as before?If so it would be really helpful if you very helpful chaps could give us AS5 owners some means of installing AS6 without the need to install and deinstall AS5 first.Fingers crossed ;-)

Yesterday, I was flying around Detroit to Flint, the weather was very overcast and rain, sitter with me was a former airline/fighter pilot, in the Dreamfleet B 58, and he was simply awstruck with the graphics......what a neat program for us simmers!! Hello,I have ASv6 installed and have been using it for some time before I learned about the service update - which I recently downloaded.When I click on the executable to install the update I get an error message saying "Can't Install! This service update REQUIRES that ASv6 be installed!"Is there somewhere specific that I need to place the .exe for it to properly recognize my installation? You know.. the sound that you get when you start Activesky. I like that.Except.. I don't hear that when I flying in a thunderstorm. Am I missing something? What weather do I need to get that kind of sound?:)Manny

When As starts loading weather into FS, it doesn't seem able to immediately see my position. It will load weather for the KSEA area (despite changing my default airfield to EGLL), and then force the AI reset. Then it finds me at my loadtio (today EGKK), and loads the weather for that area. But it doesn't reload the AI. As a result, becasue there was nil weather at EGKK when the AI reset occured, the AI ill use 08R, regardless of wind direction/speed. This has only been a recent occurance. I have none of the 'ignore' options activated.Any help would be apprecited.-Phil

HiWithin the options page of ASv6, what is the correct setting for Minimum Visabilty(sm) ? At default it is at 0 but this always gives me a grey sky. HiI found a problem with the visibility write using 05150Z weather at ENZV.Metar in use:ENZV 050150Z VRB03KT 9999 BKN012 M00/23 Q1029What happen is that ASv6 tells FSUIPC to set the vis to 0 wich FS cannot do. The result is that all textures on scenery and autogen is white like the fog. The vis range also jumps out to about 5sm and is showing like a hard wall, not the soft fog like normal.I can reproduce this by using the archive.

Hi, weather-newbie here. I've got 2 questions:(1)Is it possible with AS6 to create weather where the user can control changes in the weather along a flight route? (2)I would like to know if the wx-files created by AS6 can be used by other flightsimmers that do not have AS6? Kind RegardsLars

On two occasions I've had ASv6 send me back to desktop. Both times I thought it was a CTD, but the sim was running fine. ASv6 minimzed FS from full screen as if I Alt-Tabbed! Then a little black box was on the screen. Basically, the screen that says ASG is updating graphics, but it's black when it minimized the sim.

My apologies if this has already been addressed, I did a search, but not joy...I departed from and have been flying over overcast weather areas all night. It seems that while on the ground, I see an overcast sky. After I climb above the overcast, the overcast layer disappears, and I see only the upper cloud layers...and the ground. Any suggestions welcome.Layers set to 5, overcast enhancement is on. Using AS6 with update.Thanks,Rob.

I just paid for and unpacked Activesky via the Flight1 web site. I think their installer is corrupt. It installs very quickly to a point where it says "Removing Files", then hangs there. I have let it sit for 10 minutes now in this condition and dcided to post here for help.Is there an alternate way to get the installer? This has to be a corrupt installer, as the wrapper worked okay, but I know for a fact that Activesky installs in the Modules folder of FS9 . . . however when it is sitting int he "removing files" portion of the install, a point where files should already be installed, nothing is there.I have no prior versions of Activesky installed.
