HiCurrently flying KIAH to EGKK in the PSS Boring 777. How can I find out what the TAT is when I'm flying and only have OAT to go by?Is there an easy way to get that number without using calculus, LOL

I have no idea what changed but for some reason, after ActiveSky launches, and I run FS9, everything looks fine and then all of a sudden everything gets sort of foggy, then it all turns sort of white, I can't see anything but white shadows.I don't think any settings have changed but I don't know how to tell. Everything was working so great until today. :(As far as I know, all settings are what I've been running since I bought Active Sky, and I haven't changed anything. Hi All.I`m new to AVS and have a question which I hope I make clear and that someone can provide an answer to. So here goes.Right I fly using a new program called FSCargo which involves as the name suggests you picking up cargo from airport and taking it to another. The program has to be run with no time acceleration set ie 1 hour flying time takes 1 hour.Now I started with my Cargo company as I like to think of it with devisions in Canada, UK and Australia. All started on the 5th May at 7.00am local time. I fly each cargo run in real time ie do 1 run then pick up the next load at the destination for the last load so the time is keep running so its like flying 24 hours a …

I have had to do a clean install of WINXP Pro, as well as FS9 due to a bad bout with a Trojan virus. All is well now, but I lost my key for ASV5, which was in one of my old folders. Hi Jim and TeamI have read with interest the post re ASVe and using weather OFFline. I only ever use the program ON-line (update every 10 mins) and in MANUAL mode ie I use FSE for clouds, water, etc. This is how I start everything1) Load ASVe (if I know which airfield I will be flying from I use the "FETCH" mode.2) Load FSE (favorites/randomizer) gives auto start of FS2004.3) Clear weather with FSUIPC4) Create or Load a flight plan or just take-off as the mood takes me!I no longer bother to go back the ASVe to import the flight plan from FS2004 as it seems to update the weather just fine. Am I missing any functionality this way? (I have also tried it the conventional …

Just got active sky a few weeks ago and i have found that when i go back to a saved flight to replay the video of landing or take off when the aircraft is on or near the ground i lose all weather. i never had this problem when i got my weather from flightsim any ideas?

I experimented a bit with turbulencescale in FS9.cfg and found that 5 works pretty good. Much better for me than default 1. I went mad and put 7 and I like it. Making approach into winds of 30G45 with scale of 7 was extreme to say the least :-kewl However, autopilot of my beloved 767 could nto cope so it was manual flight (as it should be in severe turbulence) :-badteethNow, could AS perhaps modify this value internally? I.e. flying in CB increase scale etc.?Back to make some more bumpy rides (I was only one reporting rough ride for EDDM on Vatsim :-badteeth )Have a nice flight!Aleksandar

Hallo,Just got ur AS2004..very complete BUTI followed all the procedures, wx displays correctly and all else is fine..I open the flightplan from the radar but nothing is loaded... I press update all but still nothing happens and I can only see the current data+the wx display...Any help?I have FSUIPC latest, reg. version, and FSNavigator which I use prior to starting the AS2004 initialization.. I tried also the alternate procedure u mentin in the manual but nothing...HELP!!bye

Hi all.I've just purchased the ASVE upgrade, and attempting to download. Problem is, it's downloading at 30-35 kbps.With my high-speed internet I should be getting a transfer rate of approx 260kbps, and I've just got off the phone to my ISP who ran a test, and it worked at that speed. They also checked local traffic which can effect these speeds, and that wasn't an issue.They made the comment that I should talk to you - are you limiting the connection speed for the download? 35kbps on a 98MB file is a problem.Any suggestions please?ThanksTim

Hi, I downloaded ASVE a couple of nights ago, and I am not very impressed. My main problems are to do with much slower performance, and overcasts that are never overcast! I mostly use MS Flightsim2004 to practice IMC procedures for real life GA flying. The sort of settings I like to practice in are OVC 500ft, vis 1200m, with the tops being around say 3000ft.When I take off into these settings, not only does the system run slowly, but the ground is always visible to some extent and when I climb above the tops, I can see the ground clearly as if the cloud distribution is 4 octars.I have read through the user manual and have tried as much as I possibly can to sort these iss…

Hey guys,I use Active Sky 5 enhanced with live online updates enabled. When crossing the Atlantic, I get strange and unpredictable wind shifts that do not confirm to the Jet Stream. Also, sometimes the winds will shift very suddenly 180 degrees (or close to it) without warning and cause an overspeed, resulting in loss of the flight.This seems likened to using real world updates with stock FS weather. I never expected this out of Active Sky. How can I mitigate these problems and setup Active Sky to correctly report Jetstream winds when crossing the Atlantic on NATs?Thanks!-Fritz

Hi All,I just purchased this marvellous addon and wanted to install the 512x512 texture set.Everything went fine with the first 2 parts. Insatalled without any issue.The installer of the part 3 file anyway does not work.When I got to the licence agreement page, I select accept and the "next" button get enabled.But clicking on it does not produce any effect.. It gets highlighted when the pointer is over it and I see the graphical effect of pressing it when I click with the mouse, but the installer doesn't move to the next step and sticks to that point.Cancel and back buttons works fine.....Any idea?

Just a quick question/advice. Is there any way someone could create a project that would use small flat clouds or effects sprites that would render on the ground? IE seeing snow drifting across runways/taxiways or wind/dirt swirls etc. I think this is the next level of realism for the flightsim community.I've tried to make this illusion in my winter runway sets on avsim, but they are static. I have been getting this problem recently when I load ASVE. The correct textures load fleetingly then everything changes to grey overcast sky.Thinking about reinstalling from scratch but have lost my original ASV upgrade from Activesky and as far as I can see the only way to get it agais is to pay again.Is there a way round this?ThanksJohn

I dont know if there is still support for B193, but I'm having some strange wind shifts during approach. I'll be on final at about 4k feet, winds showing about 20-25kts depending on last reading. When I get below 2500ft, the winds shift massively and drop to the reading received when I check the ATIS via the Fetch option. My suppress ceiling is set to 10k, so I'm not sure what's going on. I know this is an issue with A LOT of people and I would like to know if anyone has fixed it yet or not. The problem occurs on EVERY SINGLE IFR Flight plan. I will decend and at about 2000-4000ft my screen will just fill with fog until I am 1-2 miles out from the runway then the screen will clear up instantly and I go in and land. I don't have this problem when I fly online. It doesnt matter if I am running ASV Enhanced or not it just keeps happening and is really ####ing me off. Anyone have any ideas?
