Hello, i just bought AS like an hour ago and checked it out in FS. WOW, its sweet, i was at KPAE and had live weather and the visibility was like 1/8th miles and when i started, instead of the fog appearing in an instant, it rolled in and it looked real kool. cant wait to try it out in my first flight tommorow.adam

First, I want to say I'm loving Active Sky.I didn't have to do much, went with most defaults but I have it randomly setting different types of clouds, and it looks great.I just have one question. How does active sky affect the weather when flying online at VATSIM? I have the SB3 box checked that says to use SB weather. Is this ok? I haven't noticed a problem, but I'm wondering are both SB and AS changing my weather lol?Regards,Jeff

I have beta (build 363) installed. Should I download and install the official version (367)?What about changes in build 367?If you recommend installing 367 can I install it over 363 or should I deinstall 363 first? I don't want to lose my registration files or 128x128 cloud textures.

Hi. I installed upgrade for asv 4.5 the 5.0 upgrade. then I installed the enhanced version. this is the problem I run into which I never had before... this is after I reinstalled my flightsim a week ago.it seems the online updates dont' work.. it keeps giving me a station which is like 312 miles away and asv just doesn't write to flight sim no matter what I do that includes loading a flight plan..

Could some kind person help me to set up AS5, I am not being lazy and have searched the forum. I would just like to know how to set everything up so that I get the most realistic weather for that time and place. If I start at say EGKK at 10am, the download says it is something like 8 hours ahead. Please can someone give me the settings that works well for them.

Does anyone know if I can use FSW clouds with ASV? seems that after upgrading to ASV my frame rates have taken a big hit. Even with 64 X 64 DXT clouds in my Level D 767 after leaving SEA the other day my FPS hit as low as 8. I was using Active Sky 4.5 before and had FPS in the solid 20s everywhere what happened? I have my cloud layers set to max of 3 and my sliders on the lower end. Seems like I wasted my money any ideas?My system is 2.8 GHZ AMD1.0 mb memoryNvidia 5500 FX OC

I have been using ASV with FS9 over a WideFS connecton without problems. Just installed ASVE upgrade on my client computer by running the setup file downloaded from the Active Sky V website. Setup seemed to run ok but when I go to run the enhanced program, I get an error message "Initialization Error reading files...Please verify your files or reinstall."I ran set up again and chose the "repair" mode but even after the reinstall I still get the same error message when I try to run ASVE.Help!Thanks,Rob

Hi allFirst off, I love the program. It makes life so much easier and simming so much more fun.I fly with FsPassengers, and I've noticed a problem on longer flights. At about :58 after the hour, when the typical hourly update gets loaded... as it is loading the weather, it temporarily screws up my winds aloft. Just yesterday, I went from a 95kt tailwind to 0 tailwind and then back to about 85 kt in a matter of 2 or 3 minutes. I think every alarm on the plane went off at the huge overspeed and subsequent underspeed that was created.Is there a simple setting I can adjust to fix this or is it just a bug in the software? How can it be that I am residing in Moscow - but when I start the program it downloads DG__something(Algeria and Tunisia)weather as a closest weather station?I love to spend vacations in Tunisia though!!!I installed SU1. I just purchased and loaded ASV last week. I am making progress in operating it but the radar only has a black & white screen...no color so situation even though I am in the middle of a thunderstorm or light rain...any ideas?Mr. Steve

Hello all,I just upgraded from AS2004.5 to ASVE. Very nice job!I am having one problem that I also had in AS2004. That is, I will have a pretty good tailwind showing on my nav display, but my groundspeed will be less than my TAS. The tailwind affects the groundspeed as if it were a headwind. Hello thereI have been using AS 2004.5 For ages now and i have not really messed about with many graphics setting but with ASVe I now want the best setup i can get.This product like the last one is without a doubt a must for anybody who reqs nice looking skies and active weather...I 100% love it..Great work all the guys involved!My setup is Amd Athlon XP3200+ 1Ghz of DDR 333 and Ati 256mb 9600 Graphics card.It runs the default seting flawlessly but i have since downloaded the 512x512 and turned on my DXT and MIP texture modes .This has slowed my system down some what...But look absolutely great!What do you recommened is a good setup because i wouldnt say i have a slow m…

hi wondering if you could give newbie some help, say i was flying from egph to lemg a flight of about 4 hours, i file the flight plan in asv and i then get the weather for my departure and arrival airports, iknow asv will set the weather well in advance so as i fly into it, but is there a way while i am flying rather than minimize fs9to view the weather at the arrival airport so as i can determine wich runway to use. hope this makes sense. great program thanks, jim

Hi - Thanks for a great product, makes simulation flying so much better - well done.One question to do with the rate of change of winds. There was a large storm in Sydney today, and flying there were three levels of winds virtually all opposite directions to each other. ASV seems to change the wind direction at about 10 deg per second max. How does ASV generate windshear (or rapid violent changes in wind direction)?Is this configurable, as I was trying to test windshear notifications, which can be triggered in FS9.1 by setting similar winds up and the shear strength to high. when new weather is applied, it's instantaneous. all of a sudden, BLAM...clouds in front of me where there wasn't 1 second ago.i must be missing a setting somewhere. any pointers?

I do GA flights using FSEconomy mostly in the southwestern US and Rockies but occasionally they take me to places east of the Rockies or into coastal California. Suppression in the mountains can be a totally different animal once you start flying into Kansas or near the Pacific. Is the update suppression altitude above sea level or above ground level? Can it be altered while flying?

Howdy,I.m new to ASV5E and have tried 2 flights KBNA-KSEA. The first flightlasted 1 hr before CTD. The second lasted 3 hrs before CTD. I'm usingPMDG 737, Radar Contact 3.1 and FS2crew. I have converted the cloudsto MIPS and am using the Imagetool.EXE. I do not get any error reportwhen the CTD happens. Thanks in advance for your help. P.S. The program runs great and looks great.

When I activate constabt aloft temperature, it causes the ground temp to jump to +28C. Is this normal, or an anomoly on my system?Also, is there any news on this update that will solve problems for us Concorde flyers at high levels with regard to temperatures and winds at high levels?Thanks for any info.-Phil
