Hi everybody, since I updated to a new computer I'm having poor graphics (only in FS). The sky is somewhat "layered" and far from the screenshots I saw on the AS website. Sometimes it even looks like a water painting. The aircraft and the groundtextures are OK. I tried somewhat everything to get the sky less layered but so far no results! My graphics card is a GeForce 7800GT, maybe I have to change some settings of this card? I loades ASV and am not showing any weather. The METAR for my point of departure shows up and I hav also disabled all weather settings in my "modules ---> FSUIPC" folder, still nothing. Does anyone have any input??

I am getting a program error - exiting verify proper file locations and mapped drive to the root of the widefs/asv machineI have a mapped network drive with sharing on (allow network users to change my files) and I have shared the C drive of both machines.My activeradar folder is not located inside of the ASV folder. Hello.I am probably going to be purchasing ASVE for my father for Christmas but wanted to try to get a question answered first.I have a crap machine at work that I use to test a few things for him before I send them his way. We live in different states and he is not the most computer literate.I guess my question is if it is possible to purchase and download ASVE where I am, install it on my crap test machine, figure out how to use it, uninstall it and take the downloaded install file (or whatever it actually is) with me for when I visit for the holidays and install it again (this time permantely) on his machine.Thanks!

hello,I can't download the weather datas from the HIFI-server anymore, since some days. If I use the tab current weather, it shows me: downloading wxdata from HIFI data net. But nothing happens. I don't use a new firewall or antivirus. It worked very well in former times. What can I do? I reinstalled the program but nothing has changed. Please help me.thanks Kai

Flying towards LGAV, I got a weather report for winds at 050 degrees, so I assumed that rwys 03L/R would be in use. However, when I got there, I realised that the runways in use are 21R/L. I checked ASV window and saw this (attached file).a) Why is there a reference in LGAT (which is closed for the last 5 years)?:( Why the rwy in use is one with a strong tailwind when METARS actually show an opposite wind?c) What's the actual wind conditions in this METAR? 160018, 01020, or 04016????Thanks!Kostis

Hi-Wondering if anyone else has the new F1 MD80 and ASV? Every time ASV updates weather, the panel blinks and some how stores the panel state. In case you didn't know, the MD80 has a great feature that quickly loads different panel states. When I was departing KBHM today, the weather loaded while on the ramp and seemed to save all the radio freq and aircraft configs. As I was climbing out, I could still hear ground control even though I had both radio tuned to different freqs. Also, when changing views, for the split second it takes to load the new image, I could see the terminal building and the panel parked at the gate before the new view loaded. When I pan the mo…

I have installed the image too which I will use to modify cloud structure in ASE.But every time I try to use this procedure..eg click on enable mip maps or enable DXT, a message box indicates the image tool can not be located and tells me to install it in ASV active environment folder.I checked and it is there ! Is image tool suppose to launch from this area?Also, what is the 'right setting' one would use so that AS uses the WX information it recieves to send to FS9? Random or other.I always assumed random was the choice for getting the real wx and cloude effects???Mike

Hey. Im new to ASV and these forums so excuse me if this has been brought up. I just got ASV and i have Flight Environment on my computer before i put ASV on. Is there a way to get both to work together or do i just have to pick one or the other to use. If thats the case do i need to uninstall Flight Environment to get ASV to work correctly? HI All, I hav been using ASV 5 for some time now without any problems. Today i decided to install the 512 cloud sets. All went well and i loaded my aircraft and was ready to go when i got a box pop up stating the following.Buffer overrun!!!It gave the the file as "microsoft games/flight simulator 9/ fs9.exe"It then said the the buffer overrun has corrupted the programs internal state and fs2004 crashed to desktop. I have tried and tried again with and without ASV to start my flight and everytime this happened and everytime it crashes back to desktop.Can anyone help please. I have installed and run ActiveSky over 2 computers ever since it was released but now I have a problem.This morning I lost my main HD on my non-FS9 computer so fitted a new one and reinstalled ASVE.When I run ASVE it pauses on 'Reading ICAO station file' and then throws up an error msg "Error on submit...FS Folder Target: "The old OS was Win XP Pro, the new system, only on the non-FS computer, is XP Pro SP2.Both the ASVE and the FS9 directories are shared and file changes allowed.I can open the FS9 texture directory on the non-FS9 computer and add a test text file to it so I think ASVE should have access to it.I'm sure it is something simple I am overlooking but can't th…

Hi,I've set up a simple MSFS flightplan from VECA (Chabua, India) direct to ZPPP (Wujiaba in China).When I import this into the Nav Log it seems to think the route is from DGAA (Kotoka in Africa) to ZPPP, some 6083 miles in distance! I usually do my Active Radar flight plans automatically using FS Nav and exporting them to FS9 with no problems. Sometimes I try and manually program a flight plan into Active Sky, and while it recognizes an airport with no problem, it can't seem to find any VORs when I put in the 3 letter VOR identifier and hit the search button. I am clicking the VOR selection, when I do this, but nothing. What does Active Radar use for a data base for the VOR's? Maybe I need to update something......

Hi Damian and crew,I finally got some spare cash and bought ASVE. It's outstanding!I did have one question for you though which I did not find addressed in the docs. My hometown airport recently installed an AWOS station, but ASV doesn't get data from it. Is there a way to add the new station or is that something you have to do with future updates? I was able to add the new station in wxRE, but can't seem to get it to do so in ASV.Again, let me say how much I like the new ASVE. You've sure come a long long way from when I was on the wxRE beta team. Keep up the great work!KP

I flew a few movies in Vancouver+ and used ASVE in them. The first movie was actually a clear day, so not a whole lot of weather action. Hi,I have purchased the ASVE with the most recent service update. Although its a terrific program I have not managed to complete a flight with ASVE running in background. The problems I mainly face are the ones with varying temps over water that causes my aircraft speeds to go berserk at cruise and more often than not, in the middle of a flight I have CTD issues of FS9.I download weather by starting ASVE first and then run FS Build2 to build a flt plan using downloaded winds aloft data. Import & process the generated plan in ASVE, and then start FS9. I have enforced constant route aloft temp but still faced the same problem. I tried flights disabling the option, but t…

Hello, today i was doing a circuit around KPAE with ASV and i noticed the temp. was way to high. It said 32C when it should be below freezing. And i have online updates on and am in online mode. Now, just as i am writing this ASV updated and the temp is now 2C, which is alot closer than 32C. can anyone explain this?adam
