This is a note for controllers who might wish to use the feature of the new ServInfo version (1.32) that allows them to hide lines of their ATIS from ServInfo users, by preceding the line with a $ character.Besides hiding the ATIS line on the ATC Details Window, this feature is supposed to also disable the "join" button and remove the RW server and channel info from this window. However, due to a bug this will only work if the hidden line is the FIRST line of the ATIS. Perhaps this subject was addressed before but I couldn't find any references so here goes.It seems to me that Vatsim should seriously review their policy regarding when to qualify a controller for voice and at what position. It is very annoying, if not downright impossible, to be on final with approach on voice to be handed off to tower on text especially if you are manually flying the approach.It seems to me that all positions with the exception of ground and delivery should be voice rated first. Just my humble opinion.

I've posted this message in the PSS forum, but I thought I might find some help here to. I fly the PSS Airbus, and have AI bridge intalled, yet....when I'm on the ground when flying online with VATSIM, I successfully see aircraft on the Phoenix Airbus ND, as well as the EFIS screen in Squawkbox. However, after takeoff, I never seem to see aircraft around me in the sky on the Phoenix Airbus ND.. This has happened every time I fly. Aircraft in the air show up on the SB TCAS, but not in the Airbus! Then, when I approach the runway at the arrival airport, suddenly all the aircraft waiting there on the ground show up on the ND once again. Its' as if the AI Bridge is not pickin…

As of November 8th, 2002, Europe Division of VATSIM Europe Region will put in effect a new kind of airspace sectors online that have been agreed and voted by the majority of all its vACC staff members.They are Europe's joint Upper Information Regions (UIRs) ATC also to be known as "UIR ATC". I have been using the VATSIM Flight Planning Tool for submitting Flight Plans to Squawkbox and enjoy the capability. It lessens the cockpit requirements when online with ATC and makes for a more sterile cockpit. The problem i have is when you get forced offline and return to online status, your flight plan is erased and at that time you have to go into the program to reestablish your route for ATC. This causes an unnessesary burden when trying to fly the aircraft and would not be the norm in real situations. Is it possible for VATSIM to keep the flight plan active for at least one hour after disconnect so when the pilot gets back online the flight plan is still active. Wh…

A new file by Pete Dowson was released today called AI Bridge 1.0. With this you willl no longer need to use the SB TCAS while flying online. With this file and the just released version 2.87 of FSUIPC, you can see MULTIPLAYER aircraft from the TCAS built INTO your panel. The Dreamfleet 737, Wiclo767, All PSS aircraft have the TCAS built into there panel so that you would be able to see the AI planes on them if you were using them. Thanks to Pete, he found a way for the multiplayer aircraft to be shown on it instead of the AI when using multiplayer. No more having that big docked TCAS of SB sitting over the top of your panel. I'm using simatc.com to send my flightplans up to the vatsim server. I used to use FS Navigator 4.0 to make fp's which gave an estimated time enroute, however simatc fp's do not. I need to find out 3 things:1. The only way now to figure out ETE is through FMC? I'm using the PSS Boeing 777 which is a great plane. Does anyone else figure it out a different way?2. This is harder for me to get. The estimated hours of fuel onboard. I can read the guages for gallons of fuel, lbs of fuel, etc..but nowhere can I get an estimation of time of fuel there is onboard...is there a certain formula to figure this out?3. Being a newbie, I've not seen the controller side of things, only the pilot side. Anyway, I was curious about when I pause the sim to switch to SB to do a freq. change or something, does my paused game show up any different on your screen? Do I show up at all during that time? hi ,i was using SB witout any problems for half year... but today i've experienced some hard to solve problem :-(Ok - so procedure is usual: creating multi session in FS -> sb host -> sbox -> search -> join - everything is working fine but when i'm switch back to Fs and open "host options" there is no Sqawkbox " player " in multi. session. The result is lack of messages from SB diplayed on green tape and also when SB tries to add plane i get error ( picture atteched below )i'm using win xp pro with firewall off , fsuipc 2.92 , fs2002 pro :-zhelp regardsEricson

I also posted this in SB forum...(sorry for the duplication)I run fs2002 full-screen with Win98. Quite often when flying with SB and RW on Vatsim, if I am told to contact a different controller, and for whatever reason RW cannot connect to the server that is identified, my computer will freeze and requires a complete shutoff and re-boot.I think I know part of the problem. RW has a popup box when it cannot connect to a server. Because I am running in full-screen mode, I cannot switch to the RW popup box to close it. If I try alt-tab to get to windows mode everything freezes, as does ctrl-enter.Does anyone know a way around this? Perhaps a special keyboard combination (…

Flew on Vatsim for the first time tonight. Had a great time, but discovered I have a lot to learn. Thanks to the gentleman running JAX_AC_CTR for his patience with me tonight. Unfortunately, when he handed me off to Miami ctr, my game locked up and I had to ctrl-alt-del to kill it, along with squawkbox. Believe I just don't have enough ram. I flew on line last week and when I checked the WX, I saw it was 2 days old. No problems I thought as it has happened before but I checked it with Active SKY it gave me the day's weather and to be sure I checked again with Servinfo, it was the same as Active SKY. Can somebody explain?Thanks,AF 313

Been using the new My Traffic with ACRad and I've never seen more cool traffic in the air and on the ground. I flew a FEDEX DC10 into KSEA from KONT, tons of EnRoute traffic, then when I landed at KSEA, I had to wait after clearing the active for a departing 727 to pass my position, then a 737 had to wait for me. The place was busy! .. it really was great. Sorry to say, this doesn't happen with VATSIM yet and I miss it greatly. And yes, I have to put up with FS2002 quirky ATC, but VATSIM cannot possible emulate this kind of traffic, especially on the ground, much less 24/7 with the current My Traffic scheduling (yes, it's not "real scheduling" yet, but I'm not sure I want…
