Hi, I've been using Vpilot (Software for VATSIM) for a quite a bit of time, now all of a sudden for the past 2 months i am facing this issue- Whenever I start Vpilot, it does not open immediately and also it makes my computer freeze... I leave it untouched for a few mins and my computer gets back to normal... I have never faced this is issue earlier but now I'm facing it... I have tried re-installing it multiple times, running it in admin mode and compatibility mode for Win 7 and 8 but no luck. Any Solutions ASAP would be highly appreciated. Thanks, Mohammed

Hi, Not sure if anyone checks this forum or not anymore but here goes with a question.... I still use Squawkbox with FS9 (FS2004) online with VATSIM, although I will be moving to FSX-SE later in 2016 - and hopefully P3D if the licencing options change to allow me to use it. There are still aircraft (and liveries) that are not available in the Squawkbox VIP model set. For example, the new 787 and the 747-8 cannot be set up under the option to ADD AIRCRAFT in SB because these jets came along after work stopped on developing SB further. I would like to try and see if I could add a 787 and a livery for it such that when I add the aircraft into SB and connect…

I use a Logitech G-430 headphone ( with an attached mic ) to communicate with ATC via squawk box.( Windows 7 ) For whatever reason I cannot make it work. I calibrated the mic,turned out ok I can hear what ATIS says,I can hear what the control tower says to pilots. But: I sent a voice message to the tower which they did not hear ( had it confirmed by text message ) I then asked the tower ( via text ) to send me a voice message.Result: I could not hear it. OK, I've had it up to here with these issues. For some reason, it seems to want to do a debug or something. I have googled it, the threads out there are long but no resolution seen. Squawkbox appears to have no active forum anymore.. This is driving me up the wall. If I hit ignore very fast, it doesn't disconnect. If I delay, it disconnects, and frequently will crash. Hi all wonder if someone can help. i run fsx one a server with other addons on a client including squawkbox. have used SB many times but for some reason, after reinstalling after a reformatt on both pc's, the SB transponder no longer appears anywhere. i can log in, change frequencies in my aircraft but tearing my hair out over the sb transponder not showing and unable to use the ptt button. can anyone shed some light of hope for me please. regards

Hi, please help. I have changed all files to run as admin so is not that problem, but when i go into fsx and go to add ons menu, as soon as I click on squawk box fsx freezes. The sound of the engine running remains but is completely frozen. I ctrl, alt, del and task bar says fsx not responding. Any help please?

Hey everytimr I use sqwak box in my fsx within the first 20 mins it freezes and it doesnt come back. Is there a fix for this? Or what should I do? Thanks

Hi guys, I have decided to give Vatsim a go via squawk box. I have downloaded and followed tutorials on install etc, and all seemed to install fine. When I start fsx I choose a gate and start SB. Squawkbox says I have connected succesfully, It shows the atc channels on the right but I tune active tower channel and nothing happens. I do not hear anything at all from atc, the bottom right says text only and when I hit the PTT button it buzzes. I have calibrated my mic and it says works fine. Any help? I have uploaded plans also and scenery aircraft disappear but no change otherwise. Thanks in advance!

Hello everybody, I am in dire need of help. For a while now, squawk box has been working fine. All it did is give some error messages that I clicked ignore and it would keep going. However, recently, I would connect and everything would be fine for a while and then it would just disconnect. I would reconnect and it would be fine but then it would disconnect a second time and crash the sim. Please help! Thank you in advance.

Having an Issue with not being able to see other online aircraft. I did not have sb4 installed on my fsx computer and running sb4 on windows 8 machine via simconnect. I ran the tool to creat the ut2 ai.sms file and placed it in the sb4 installation on the client computer. Still not able to see any multiplayer traffic =( Any ideas? thanks for any help.

Hello - I have PilotEdge installed and working properly on FSX. I have tried to install SB4 as well to use on VATSIM for flights outside of the PilotEdge airspace. However, when I attempt to install SB4, the installation crashes near the end of the process. A lot of SB4 files are placed on the drive but the application will not launch. Is SB4 compatible with Win 7 64-bit and can it be installed while another application such as PilotEdge is already installed? Thanks!

Greetings all, I had an issue tonight while trying to fly online. I was able to communicate on voice, but after a few minutes my voice capabilities seemed to disappear. The green "transmit" light on SB4 wouldn't light up, and no one could hear me, although I could hear them fine. I disconnected from the server and re-connected, which solved the problem for a bit, but then the same thing would occur. This happened 3x in a row before I finally gave up. Any ideas? I have FSX, SB4 for FSX, and Windows 7. On a different note.....how do you stop that annoying "buzz" sound everytime the mic is keyed. I had this problem a few years ago, but can't remember the solution. …

Greetings all, I just reinstalled SB4 after a HD crash. It's located in C//squawkbox. FSX is in C//fsx, and FSUIPC is installed as a module within FSX. After starting FSX, I'm then starting SB as a separate program (as opposed to starting it within the FSX drop-down menu). The response is "cannot connect to FS.....": The next options are "Retry......start anyway, with FS2002......start anyway, with FS2004.....or "exit SB" Any solutions? Many thanks, Ron

So I play on Vatsim with Squawkbox 4, and I'm become really tired of seeing those dumb stuck "VIP" planes everywhere so I decided to try to make Squawkbox use the MyTraffic X planes. I used the SMS Generator from here with little luck. As I did the conversion I had dozens of unknown ICAO errors, a few hours of googling I had found the real ID for all of those planes and entered it. I tried to launch squawkbox..and it popped up another few dozen of dialogs telling me that the ICAOs were not in equipment.txt. Now Ive tried to add them there, and it still wont shut up.. Is there any easier way to do this? A premade MyTraffic X setup, a different model pack? I can't be t…

I moved my computers (FSX-laptop;squawkbox-XP) to another city, hooked everything up and started to fly. Lo and behold Squawkbox4 seems to stop responding at "Loading aircraft info," necessitating a forced shutdown. All was well before I moved, and everything else seems to be working OK. The EFB from fswidgets is working fine, so it doesnt appear to be a simconnect problem. I had the same problem with Plan-G flight planner. It would crash at startup, after a few weeks of running just fine. Anybody have any idea what might be causing it? Im anxious to get back to online flying. Thanks in advance JohnW

So i use squawk box and here is the problems i have had. A friend and I were playing and i didnt see him in my FSX.. He has FS9 so how can i make it so i can see him. I can only see other FSX traffic. Then also, all i can see are VIP models. how can i see what the real planes look like? -Cameron

I've installed SB on a networked computer, and have plugged my headphones and mic into the client. Thing is, I don't like being deaf to the engine, etc. sounds of the PC running FSX. Does anyone use some sort of setup to have both SB and the FSX sounds coming into a single headset? Ive been reading around the Web and there seems to be some divisiveness about which setup works best, ie line-in to line-out, Y-connector (which is universally panned as dangerous to the soundcards), mixers, etc. Thanks in advance

I cannot access the SB forums, so I'll do it here.I was recently forced to do a system restore last Saturday and have since been getting FS9 back up to scratch. I've had FS9 for years and had lots of tweaks, but that's all gone. FS9 itself survived as well as Addon Scenery, Aircraft etc, but I had FS problems, so I had to make a new FS9.cfg.So, first of all, I got SB4 again, which I previously used for months without any problems. My first problem was when I tried to connect, there were no server lists. That was fixed by a reinstall. Now, I can connect, but I can see no aircraft. I can connect with squakbox it loads alright and then when I connect I cant see other aircraft . When I connect to squakbox multiplayer I can see in on the fs navigator as a green dot but cant see the plane when I am on the ground or in the air ? HELP!!!!!

'Somewhat' in that I'm going to be removing all the expiry and registation code and making it free to download in perpetuity.This should be done by the end of the month.Don't know what Gndmaker is? IVAO's Ivap program always works fine through simconnect, however the squawkbox radios sometimes won't connect to my client computer. Restarting SB or FSX doesn't help things. Hi all I have FSX running with SB4 on my PC (specs in my signature). On a recent flight online (I fly with VATSIM), I realised that the weather I could see was not what everyone else was seeing/experiencing and not what the metar for the airport was that I was flying into. It should have been cloudy and windy, yet I was seeing relatively nice weather. The pressure of 29.92 was also much lower than what the VATSIM weather was. Can someone please tell me what settings I should be using in FSX weather menu, FSUIPC and SB4 to ensure that I see the proper weather?
