Hi,During real-world flying I have been able to log GPS-data as well as aircraft attitude data (roll, pitch, heading).Now, I would love to be able to input this data into the FS2004, and thus be able to look at the flight from FS2004.Any ideas how this could be done? I am a programmer, but have no experience with programing towards FS2004 (or other versions for that matter). I was thinking that since it is possible to fly several people over a network, maybe I could hack my way into this protocol to feed my real-world flight data into FS2004. I should then be able to see the aircraft at least (but would I be able to "sit inside" the aircraft and follow the instruments and…

Hi all,I have just started trying to set up Vatsim flying on two pc's linked via a network crossover cable and have an issue. I can get connected fine but I cannot see any of the other users aircrafts. I can actually hear their engines beside me but I cant phsically see them. They dont show up in FSnav either. I have registered versions of both widefs and fsuipc. I installed SB 2.3 b5 on my laptop and am trying to use WideFS with it. WideFS is running fine. I load up sb host.exe, I then try to start SB, I get a message "Squawkbox is not properly installed. Please re-run the installer again."Any ideas?

Hi, I am trying to use pro controller for the first time and every time I try to connect I get this error [NETWORK]: Error [010]: Invalid protocol revision ()You have been disconnected from the server. (0)I have a sector loaded and have entered SNR_OBS as call sign Observer as rating and my real name for the name. The server is 216.93.170.44 . Port 6809I understand I dont need Certificate ID and password as an observer.Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Regards Sean.

Anybody have a solution for Squawkbox showing me in the middle of the ocean by Africa. The view in FS shows me sitting on the runway, but squawk box shows me by Accra. I have a full registered version of FSUIPC, and have tried un-installing and re-installing that. Any other ideas?Bill

Hi all!I've been using VATSIM and Squawkbox with FS9 for about 4 months now with no problems, but about a week ago I started not being able to connect. I would start SBRelay, then FS9, and then open my multi session and flightplan. Then i would open SB Host in FS9, not SB Host.exe. I would then open squawkbox.exe and connect to that, and then connect in SB Host in FS9. This always worked, but now SBRelay removes me after a few seconds of being connected. So when i attempt to connect to VATSIM i get WSAETIMEDOUT. Im not sure whats wrong and tried reinstalling Squawkbox but it did not help. I would appreciate any help or advice.Rune Duke

Hello, I've seen one or two posts similar to this on here, but with no solution. I've been online flying for 3 years without a problem, until now. Everything works perfectly, sbrelay connects, fs multiplayer loads fine, Squawkbox loads and connects. Now, after about 1 or 2 minutes, I see a scrolling text in fs2004 reading "squawkbox has left the session" And in sbrelay it reads "Removed player 'Squawkbox' from FS2004 session". I can still however fly perfectly, communicate with ATC, they can hear me with no trouble. I can see tcas traffic. I just can't see other aircraft, or communicate by text in the fs2004 multiplayer chat window. This is a…

The last few months I've been having two annoying problems with Squawkbox (SB).The first is related to using SB with HostSB.dll. Often when I try to start SB using HostSB.dll, instead of the "Get Ready To Get Into The Action" button, I get a "standard" Windows "Send/Don't Send" error, i.e. SB crashes. However, sometimes SB starts normally, but there doesn't seem to be any logic in when it works and when it doesn't.If I start SB using SBHost.exe instead, it works fine. The problem is I like having SB visible in FS when I fly (especially as I only have one monitor).The second problem is that I can't get SB to connect to a multiplayer session. Hello,I'm using Windows XP Home, DirectX 9.0c, FS9, the latest FSUIPC, latest Squawkbox (2.3), etc.I have everything installed per instructions received from the Vatsim site.Here's my steps for launching everything:1)Open SB Relay.2)Open FS - Make flight.3)Setup Multiplayer4)Go up to Modules and HostSB5)Start menu and load squawkbox.6)Finds my multiplayer game, I click ok or join whichever button it is, waits a minute.7)Then I get an error message asking me if I want to send an error report to Microsoft. This happened before, then I restarted and it did not send the error message. Then I closed FS and tried it again and I got the error box again. Now I'm getting it all…

For some reason I don't have rain in the weather in Squawkbox. I have real time clouds, wind, sunlight etc. but no rain.The only way I can see rain is to download the weather from Jeppeson site thru FS9 weather option.Any ideas?Thanks, Jerry

I have a problem, I can't see any multiplayer traffic when flying online one VATSIM. I hear all the other aircraft but can't see any. I don't know if this is a Squawkbox, WideFS or SBRelay related problem...Let me tell you how the software is setup on the two computers.MainFS 9.1, FSUIPC 3.411 (Registered), AVC and AVC tuner.LaptopWideFS 6.41 (Registered), SBRelay 1.2, SB 2.3 (installed for FS2000) and BAV ACARS.Both computers run on WinXP without any servicepacks. All the aplications run and communicate perfectly except this thing. I just can't find out what it is? Should I add something to some .cfg-file? I haven't been able to see aircraft flying with me without not using SB or online flight since I patched Flight Sim 2004. I have reinstalled SB 2.3 several times, tried reinstalling the CSL aircraft, etc... to no avail. I have checked my router, tried just plugging directly into my cable modem thinking that it was blocking a port. That wasn't the issue either. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can try to resolve this issue with not being able to see other aircraft while flying? Everything else seems to work fine. Thanks!Patrick

I have a new system up and running with Windows XP. Never had problems with old Windows 98 getting on line. I can start SB relay, FSsim, SBhost but when I try to connect Squawkbox to go online system crashes. Noticed from forum that I'am not alone but havn't seen any responses recently to this dilema. Firewalls are gone, UPnP on router has been disabled but still unable to get connected. I have tried the 127.0.0.1 but did not help. Anxious to get back in the air on line with other pilots. Thanks for any suggestions.

HiI run two networked machines linked by WideFS 6.4. Machine 1 runs FS 9.1 and FSUIPC 3.4 on Windows 2000. Machine 2 runs SquawkBox 2.3.5 and SBRelay 1.2 on Windows ME. My problem is that SB only generates sounds when the WideClient.exe window has the focus on the ME machine; the rest of the time it is silent. Does anyone have a solution so that SB sounds are always produced? Many thanksBen

Is it possible..when using the Adavanced Voice Client to talk 'privately' to the pilot of another a/c..without everyone hearing? Sometimes we like to communicate without using all the "offical jargon" :)Thanks Mike

Im having big problems with my SB.... I have installed all the programs required to run the program, but I cannot see any (approach, departure... control) under the ATC Dierctory. Neither other players in the TCAS. The most strange, is that I can still send messages to other pilots and controllers. No controller can see me on their radar... When starting the ServInfo I can see myself connected in the All pilots directory, but not on the screen.Please help, I really do not know how to solve the problem. Keep in mind I made no changes (right) that could cause this problem When I start a flightI have been doing the same sequence for years...I get an error"sorry SB has encountered a problem as has to close". Itroulbleshooted to the limite..well...I removed SB and re-installed 4 times, I also re-installed flightsim 9 ..but the same error and I removed all files in my C that were related to both programs just in case , butthe conflick is still around.My question..could the problemlie in a file in the registry..that is a file related to SB.And the only way to rid the problem is to delete the files in thereg related to SB ? If one wants to fly on both VATSIM and IVAO how does one operate AVC and TS together. It appears that SB looks for a default voice program and if that is AVC then it picks that and does not work with TS. Similarly if one runs TS as default then AVC is disabled.Any work arounds?Shez

I am unable to find the SBRelay multiplayer session in FS2004 with ZoneAlarm 5.1.011.000 active. If I shut down ZoneAlarm, the session pops up in the FS multiplayer search box. I have given SBRelay, FS, DirectPlay Server, DirectPlay Helper, and Squawkbox server rights in ZoneAlarm. Even with program control turned off in ZoneAlarm, the SBRelay does not come up in the Join Multiplayer Session search box.I did not have this problem with earlier versions of ZoneAlarm (and prior to WinXP SP2).Don S.

Hi all!A bit of a technical problem maybe somebody has been able to resolve..? I am runing FS9 on my primary desktop that also connects to the Net via ADSL. Runing FS9, SB, AS2004 and you name it on the same machine is no problem.I also have a WIFI network in my house and now want to run SB via WideFS on a laptop. Connecting them together using sbrelay is no problem and I get a session between the two going but...My laptop, and all other possible machines on the wifi net, use a proxy server (analogx proxy) to share internet connection. Basically I tell all my web apps to connect using proxy via address x and port y. It all works brilliantly up until SB that does not seem …

Just started doing squawkbox installed on a separate computer (LAPTOP) over a lan. WIDEFS running nicely and AVC (ON DESKTOP/FS2004) connecting nicely too. Then all of a sudden squawkbox hangs. When I view the task manager it shows squawkbox as using all of the proccessor resources ( trying to accomplish something by the look of it ) I dissapear from VATSIM and cannot get SB to restart and try again. Start everything as normal go to connect to sb and I get the windows standard error message (XP HOME) and when I go back to flight sim the sbhost window is frozen can't clikc on it or close it all that good stuff. let me know ANy ideas i'm about to throw it in until sb3 comes out.
