I am missing VATSIM. Know that SP1 is out I have decided to switch to FSX and remove FS9. Forget the delays in new FSX aircraft what I miss the most is flying on VATSIM with SB3. The other 'program' FSINN is to complicated to setup. Is there any news on SB for FSX??Andrew

When I start SB3 it freezes after the message 'Initializing Voice' in the splashscreen.I have to reboot my machine cause nothing works anymore.I have WinXP SP1 with all the updates installed uptil now.Any1 with the same problem?Thank you,Marc Nieuwhof

Hi:Just loaded the latest squawbox - I get an error message "valid installation of FS not found". I do have a valid installation but its on the D drive and not the boot up drive. I have also run the no-CD patch (as I run everything from the HD.Any help appreciate. As an alternative I also downloaded and installed FSInn/FS CoPilot and I do not see the options in the Modules section of FS screen.? any hep on this appreciated.ThanksRomanth

Hi all,No problem with my microphone with Window recorder. When I start SB and try to calibrate, my voice is skipping and unaudible. Go back to windows recorder then same problem.The problem disappear when I close SB. I can use the microphone again with windows.any Idea ???Thanks Christian

I've spent ages recently trying to tweak my graphics settings to achieve higher frame rates, but realised recently, that when SB3 isn't running, the frames are pretty high and acceptable. So I've stopped tweaking graphics now, now I've realised that it's majorly SB3 causing the problem.A while back I'd somehow learnt that using ZoneAlarm firewall made SB3 run quicker than if I was using Sygate Firewall. So I've started using that.The frame rate is lower if there is at least one other aircraft in the session that I'm in, in range of me. I think the frame rate is as it is when SB3 is not on, when there are NO aircraft in range.Just wondered if anybody had any tips for makin…

This is probably a dumb question but........Can I run SB3 with WideFS? If so do I plug the mic into the client pc or the server?

The AI aircraft when flying on Vatsim using SB3... well for lack of a better description, the aircraft looks like cardboard cut outs.I am in the process of redoing our VAs SB3 livery using mainly Project AI and AI Aardvark models and textures.In our testing so far, it is hard to tell which aircraft are AI and which is your own using Spot view in Flight Simulator 2004. Also there does not seem to be any significant reduction in frame rates.The only issue I am having is that when the AI aircraft are on the ground, there is no landing gear. I am having problems with SB3. I am using Win 2000Pro and it seems that when I start getting weather updates or Comm over 121.8 the view will revert back to a previous time and the screen will be split differently about the SB menu bar -hmmm . I mean that when you switch views the views will be two different ones about the SB3 menu bar, top and bottom. Anybody run into this and if so, is there any way to fix the issue?????thanksmike

I have two computers in my home network. I have Procontroller on one and FS 2004 and Squakbox on the other. I can get ProController connected to the home network but I just cannot get Squakbox to connect. I am using SB3, and Windows XP Professional. I am using 192.168.0.1 for the computer running FS and SB and 192.168.0.2 for the ProController computer. When I try to connect SB I get message saying

Hello, I'm new to the forums. I'm in the military and currnetly deployed to Iraq. So, it's hard form me to find information. I thought this would be a good place to start.I tried to connect to VATSIM with squakbox this morning (night back in the states). It would connect for about 10 min then disconnect with the following error message "Error: Unauthorized client software (16)". I've connected many times back in the states without a problem. Does anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong or why I'd be getting that message? Any help would be greatly appreciated!Jordan

Every "Button Assignment" works perfect except Throttle does not function at all. In "Assignments" it shows Z-axis which my Son believes is wrong. His same Logitech Joystick shows "Slider" instead of Z-axis. What in the world could be wrong here? Keyboard f2 and f3 for throttle work fine. Any help will be greatly appreciated as I am a real novice at this great Sim Game {Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004}.

I am having a problem running vatsim and AI traffic ( 2005 traffic , fslive) . It seems as though all is well until I turn on Squawkbox and connect to vatsim. I have many aircraft until I connect to vatsim through Squawkbox and then all of the AI disappear..Thoughts???

Hi all can anybody help me please I have just installed my own broadband connection thru telewest here in london it a 2 meg system but when i try to load up sb3 it will not start a muilti player session and close. If i run off my next door neighbour wirless then i connect and run SB3 with FS2004 as normal I have run the dxdiag utility and it comes up with " DirectPlay test results: Failure at step 9 (Creating Session): HRESULT = 0x80158185 (error code)" what is this and how do i correct my server issue.Thanks captainc

What is the point of setting the "Range of planes added to multiplayer" greater than 10 miles in SB3?If I am not mistaken FS9 on shows planes up to 10 miles away so why added anything else?

The last few times flying on line I noticed I was not receiving all voice ATC messages to me. Last night flying into Panc it was basically just the controler and myself, on several calls to me he had to text message me as I was not responding to his voice. This seemed to happen if there was no communication in a 5-10 minute period.Any ideas what may be causing this

I am currently having issues when i zoom in and out with ASRC. The closer that I zoom in, the more a fix repeats. Ex...a fix originally says ELMAA when zoomed out. Zoom closer and it starts saying all these fixes..ELMAARADDYBLUIT and the closer you get, the more fixes appear. Any clue on what to do anybody? I have tried uninstalling, re downloading sector files, using the keyboard instead of the mouse but it isnt doing much at all. I cannot control when its so far zoomed out. I dont have this problem at home on my desktop pc but this is happening after my first installation of ASRC on a newer dell laptop on vacation. Thanks everyone!

Okay, this just started happening today...I'm running SB3, and it seems to start on its own. It generally happens after I press a key, but it's not any consistent key. It's disturbing my offline flying a bit...I checked and I do not have autostart selected.

I have to turn my aircraft engine sound completely off or else the controller hears a huge amount of static that makes my transmissions almost inaudible. If I turn the engine sound completely off the controller tells me I'm 5 by 5. I have a splitter set up so my friend and I can hear and one of us has the mic (on the headset) to communicate. I do not use a speaker at all but just the 2 sets of headphones. I wonder how the engine sound is getting through to the controller. I have on board sound and it's a very new board ASUS a8N SLI. Could there be some setting that's allowing the engine sound to leak through.I'd really like to get my engine sounds working with SB3.Thanks,…

Hi,Looking for some assistance...I'm running FS9/Squawkbox 3.0 on an AMD 64 3500+ system with Win XP Pro, Service Pack 2. I've got 1GB RAM, a 160MB HD, and a NVIDIA GeForce6800 GT with 256MB video RAM (and latest video drivers installed).My issue is this--I have no problems connecting and flying online, but whenever I 'Disconnect' both Squawkbox and FS9 stop working. The system locks up and I have to go into Windows Task Manager to close out the programs.Can anyone tell me why?Thanks in advance!Richard

Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!I have the latest version of Squawkbox for FLY 2. The only mention of real weather is in connection with Vatsim/IVAO. Is there a way to get real weather/auto updates independent of those networks? If so, what is the I.P.? I am happy with the ATC on the latest version of C4TO, but am contemplating a polar circumnavigation in a Piper Malibu which would be much more realistic with real weather updates. I have a Vatsim account and would follow procedures, but the many hours in uncontrolled airspace would be a big waste of their bandwidth. Is there an independent weather I.P. address?
