This is so mega-annoying that I just wanted to ask anyone if they have a solution: When a controller contacts me over private message, I don't have any sound! I tried changing everything in sounds in SB4, but still it doesn't chime if controller sends me the message to contact them.I get lots of disconnects from VATSIM since I miss the controller contacts. Pardon me for not staring into monitor for hours long to see if message arrives!

Hi I'm using Squawkbox 4 with FSX and when I open it I get this error: http://www.squawkbox.../startvoice.php I don't use AVC, ASRC or Roger Wilco and my sound drivers are updated so how can I fix it? PD: everything works perfectly but I can't hear the ATC and the other pilots, I just can chat and I can see the other planes (I don't care about talking to the ATC because I don't use a mic but I want to hear him) PD2: I alredy tried re-installing it but I still get the same error

Hello everyone,I am trying to set up squawkbox for use with fsx. I am blind, and will be using the Its Your Plane add-on to control the simulator. My questions is: Is there a hotkey in squawkbox to open the menu to connect, file a flightplan, etc. There is a button on the screen that I can locate with one particular screen reading program, but my main screen reader doesn't see it. I can work around this if I need to, but would love if there was a hotkey I could use. I am guessing that the easiest setup will be for me to run squawkbox in stand-alone mode, not as a module. Any hlp would be appreciated.

Lately I have been getting an error message when loading MSFSX. Specifically stating that Flight Sim has detected a problem with a third party software program. File is SquawkBox\sbtrans10.dll. It recommends not loading the file. Any idea as to what causes this and how to resolve?ThanksBob

Can anyone give me recommendations for a usb headset and mic to use with FSX and Vatsim/Squawk? I would like an open system, so I can hear engine sounds with speakers and ATC through the headset.I am going to repeat this on the Vatsim forum, didn't know which was appropriate. i know this has been brought up before but here i go.again, i'm not seeing other aircraft when i connect. i asked ATC and he said there are 4 aircraft where i am and i see none.whats the solution.

Hi to everyone. I use FSX Fsuipc 4,53 SB4 at vista with saitek multi and radio panel with default B737. But I have problem with saitek radio panel and SB4 with online flights. Whenever I turn on SB4 and there is ATC available then my radio panel freezes. I am pretty sure this frozen caused by SB4 beacuse it works fine when I dont have online flight.Is there anyone who can help me pls?ThnxGuntac

Is it possible to make a similar fsd as vatsim? That uses VRC and FSInn? Is there a download somewhere or is there an easy to make it for personal/friends use?

Hi all,I've been using SB4 for a long while and after reinstalling all my FS software again i got this problem when i try to connect to Vatsim; "No server information available" msg appears under box from where u choose the connection server.I've tried to use FsInn instead and i got the same problem where it can't load server information too!!!I checked my Firewall settings and my connection settings they are all fine. (I have no error messages at all)Reinstalled both programs again but the same. Is it a windows fault? Do i need to reinstall FSX again?I'm using: XP SP3 - FSX SP1Plzzz help.

I have both FS9 and FSX installed on the same machine. When I installed SB4, it installed as it should in FSX and I can run SB from within FSX. It did not install in FS9 and I have run it as an external program in FS9. It doesn't show up in modules section of FS9. Is there any way to install SB so that it will run internally in both FS9 and FSX?

Hello all,I was hoping that someone could help me with this. I know there is quite a few programs that will export this info into SB, but if I wanted to do it manually how do I do it. For example N052 W030. I've tried N52W30, 52W030, N52W-30, and a bunch of other possible combinations except the right on. All of these give me a point in another hemisphere and not the fix that I want.thx.

What are the correct inputs in the flight plan box in SB3/4 so you can see the fixes on Simroutes. If I place them in the same way as I did for the PMDG FMS they will not show up, thanks for your input.Mike

Hi, I am a new user to VATSIM, and I don't have a headset, however I have a MacBook which has a built in microphone on it. I installed Windows 7 into VMWare Fusion, and installed squawkbox 4. The microphone worked fine in the calibration phase, however, when I go to connect to FS2004, it doesn't recognise that FS2004 is running on my XP machine. I have WideFS and FSUIPC, both registered copies, installed on my FS2004/XP machine.Any help needed, and I can also provide a photo showing that FS9 is running and SB4 isn't connecting if needed.

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I am trying to link two computers using squawkbox and FS9. On my new tower, I am running FS9 with an ethernet cable and on my little netbook i will be running SB4 using the wireless network. Both computers are on the same network, so I do not know what i'm doing wrong that I cannot link them up.Thankyou very much!

I am having some difficulties with SB4 and not sure how to fix it. The past few evenings I have flown into/out of PHL, when tuning PHL_DEP on 118.8 in FSX I am getting Harrisburg. Is there a way to disable default fsx ATIS info? Thanks Kevin_________________

Can anyone help? I have been away from FS for nearly 3 years. I intend to get back involved again so I installed FSX the other day and I am desperate to get back online with VATSIM but is it true that if I want to take part in online flying I have to resort back to FS9 due to compatibility issues with SB & FSX?

Hi there,When I download and install SB4 today but after I go on my fsx load the plane and airport and holding at the gate then I click on "Start SquawkBox" on the menu but after a window comes up loading all the data but when loading the data I get a fatal error.How can I fix this problem? :( Merry Christmas :( Adam

I have the updated Version of the AFCAD, I'm a new VATSIM user and when I down loaded the SQUAWKBOX 3 it removes all of my aircraft from TOOLS/Aircraft Editor......When this happens it makes My Level D park at gates to small for it. I need a heavy gate not a small. I had fixed by changing the parking diameter. I uninstalled the SQUAWKBOX 3 and returned back to normal.Thank you for your time........Scooter

Gents,I've been flying for a while now at areas where I'm not likely to see any other a/c. More recently, I've been trying out areas with more traffic. Here's the odd part: every other a/c I can see are the same type as me! If I'm a PMDG737, so are they! If I'm a DHC-7, so are every other a/c I see! I know it has to be the way my CLS and config is set, but I can't figure it out! HELP!Jim

Anyone know how to stop my router from bumping ATC. I have to push the talk button every now and then to stay in touch with ATC, otherwise they can't contact me.

Hi, I use SquawkBox, When i fly online at night i cant see any nav lights on other aircraft. Is it possible for me to use my Traffic 2005 aircraft instead of the default models? Rob

I didn't realize what a difference Vatsim makes in flying thesim. I have gone back to FS9 because of no proper ATC. Pleaaaaassseeeguys, hurry with the SB4 (or whatever will work with FSX)
