Looking for a little help.I have installed Servinfo 131 and have placed it on the tray beneath fs2002.After logging onto SB I can click onto the ATC via servinfo and see the atc in my area, but the pilots info and flightplan info is transparent which does not allow me to see who is online. Can someone tell me if the pilots and flightplan info is working in the servinfo or is there something I have failed to complete during the installation.I am not interested in using the gauge part of this program just the info you can receive when it is running in the system tray.Tks. for all replys.Kenny G.P.S. If I expand the program then I can see all pilots and ATC etc. I am trying t…

Hi all!I am a new user of the VATSIM system. I mostly fly helicopters - VFR, or with a VFR flight plan, in the New York / Long Island area. I was wondering what the correct procedure is when there is only a Center controller online. Do I still need to check in with Center for communications that would normally be with other ATC stations, such as ground, tower, approach, etc.? For example, if I am planning to fly NYC/NJ helicopter routes. If I fly outside of Class B? If I want to transition Class B airspace, etc? I don't want to create extra workload for the Center controllers if they are busy watching over airline traffic. :-)Thanks!WayneN457WS

A couple of months ago I downloaded all of the applications needed to fly on the VATSIM network. After trying to connect to the network multiple times I constantly received an error message: Invalid Callsign or Password. I'm sure that my password is correct but why the callsign. Maybe I don't have the right squakbox or the latest version. Can someone please post me all of the applications and updates needed to fly on VATSIM.I'm running FS2002App. I already have:Squakbox 2.3 BETARoger WilcoPro ControllerFS NavigatorFSUIPC 2.8 I think Thank you

I had my first experience of VATSIM last night using RW. I have to say I was moderately disappointed because I had real problems picking up what some of the controllers were saying and their clarity was definitely wanting. I'm sure it's not their fault, but I missed a few important instructions and generally felt a little foolish because of it. It's put me off voice-controlled ATC a bit.I just wondered if the quality of RW is always like that and people just get used to it, or whether there are obvious steps to ensuring the clarity can be improved. Just for the record, I'm ex-RAF and well used to real radio communication and it's normally a whole bunch clearer than RW was…

In a story on the VATSIM webpage about the conference in Toronto the following quote mentions that info on SB3 was released.Attendees also heard about the soon-to-be-released next generation of ATC software client, and the plans for SquawkBox 3.Any chance one of the conference attendees could fill the rest of us in?Thanks!! :)

I sent an email to Ben Eckerson at [email protected] in reference to wanting to get started in the controlling side of VATSIM at ZLA. Is this a valid email address still? Thanks.

Both of these programs now work with AIBridge. I just tried them out on VATSIM and they work great. They will also display callsign info. Thanks Enrico

Hi everyone.I got in to Toronto from Ottawa last night and started my first VATSIM convention adventure. After getting some Wendys and doing some YYZ plane spotting with Rob Hall (AKA ACA856) (and saw an Aeroflot 767, British Airways 744 and 772!!, various Air Canada hardward including many 76s and this one AMAZING 744 departure etc..etc..) headed for the Best Western. We tried to call Harv at his room but sadly was not there. I kept insisting that I bet he's at the bar but we continued the search just about everywhere else.We ended up finding him at the bar :-lol with Ernie Alston, Scott Bickford and his guest, Harv and his wife, Roberto whose last name escapes me, Bi…

Hey Guys,I just wanted to thank the controllers in Boston again for another outstanding job last night! They always seem to be online when I am, and I find myself making more trips to and from their airspace every time I'm up on VATSIM.NY_V_CTR was just as good, and I thank him as well. Well heck, anyone who sits behind an amber or green CRT for hours and puts up with the likes of me deserves a note of thanks from all us pilots! :)Thanks to ALL the controllers who make this hobby "As real as it gets".Regards,Steve Dra (a.k.a DAL1068)

Ok, just a quick question regarding altitude clearances. If the controller says, "descend at pilot's discretion..expect to cross xxx at FL100," then they technically haven't given you a cleared to altitude right? This arose the other night when I was given an 'ok' to descend, an expect to cross at, but no altitude in which I am cleared down too? -Obviously this is not a real life occurence because ATC would clear you down to an altitude in which you would be handed off to the next center and then to approach. Since one person often runs all positions on Vatsim this applies more often.ThanksJeff

Hi, I have been using SB for a while now.But today I connected my computer to a cable internet connection. Now I can fly online at the MSN gaming zone with the cable which means that I should be able to connect to VATSIM using SB and the cable connection. But I keep getting an error timeout message.Do you have any ideas that might help?regards Graeme

Now im not one to complain about VATSIM cause i love controlling at Chicago. But i have one question, where is all the traffic? In my sector and in the neighboring sectors (Clev, KC, MSP, and INDY), we are getting absolutly nothing. I believe this is the first time i have seen 0 pilots in the Who Is Online box. Very strange. Through my 4 years of controlling, i must ask, is there something wrong? Very strange indeed.

Hi allIf I log into the UK VATSIM server which happens to be my local one. Am I interacting with everybody on all the other VATSIM servers or just on the UK server. Also, I notice that the system is often down so that I cannot view details on Wazzup & ServerInfo. This was noted in a previous post and suggested that it was made a subscription sevice. Would it not be a better idea for VATSIM to take donations and have some kind of progress meter to show us all how much more they need to raise to upgrade there server and web connection.Martyn Carr
