Just a note to thank all the pilots who made the fifth California Screamin' quite possibly the best one yet.Our threats of filling the skies with virtual aluminum came true for anyone connected to VATSIM in the vicinity of SFO, LAX, LAS or PHX. Man oh man! I did 3 flights, LAS-LAX, LAX-SFO, SFO-LAX. I feel like I have actually been at work for crying out loud!! This was supposed to be a day off. Great job by all controllers. You all did a great job. Lag and server problems with RW caused the most troubles I think, especially RW. I think there were many pilots that did not sign up that flew at the last minute. There was massive amount of traffic. My TCAS had aircraft on it for over 5.5 hours, it was never empty. Only 1 TCAS alert as well. The only thing I saw that was a concern with the controllers was some were just a little late on giving descent clearances around LAX. On my trip from LAS to LAX I had to go ar…

Just finished flying into Boston as BAW461. Took off from Montreal, just after the whole Montreal fly-in was finishing, too bad I missed it, filed to KJFK, but when I was up and passed to Bos Ctr, I noticed Boston was alive with all positions filled. Quickly asked Bos Ctr if I could refile, and fly to KBOS. Now, first off, I'm a pilot with my instrument and commercial ratings, so I know how centers, approaches, towers and ground are supposed to operate. In real life, ATC is a little grumpy, not very forgiving to pilots who don't have their stuff together, and very professional. Not a knock against these guys operating boston's airspace at all. My hours have held steady at 49 for a couple of days now. I have flown a few flights since then over the last few days and when I check, nothing has been updated. How often is this updated? By the way, I check via Servinfo when I am flying. I just click on my name. I hope those flights I have done get counted. Thanks for any info.

Hi,Yesterday I was flying from EHAM to LEPA (Amsterdam to Palma de Mallorca, Europe-C server). I will finish this tonight, but I wanted to do a radiocheck with the ATC of Palma de Mallorca. I knew he was there (Uk server) as I could see his details on servinfo. However, the ATC directory from Squawkbox did not show him on the list. In servInfo it was stated that he used Roger Wilco, but the 'join'-button was disabled.I wondered if he was part of a private session and typed a .msg to him. hey, well I was bored of doing the usual FS2002 ATC stuyff so I downloaded this prog again and wwell I still can;t get connected! I create the multiplayer game. load SB and it gives me like this Error emunlating Directplay or something.. pelase help! BTW I do have a firewall

I upgraded to XP recently, and had to d/l RW Mk 1d (I lost the original "free license" I had from Resounding.com), and for some reason it will not start Roger Wilco when I start Squawk Box, and it will not auto tune frequencies; I have to do it by hand, which gets hairy on the APP-TWR handoff . Has anyone else encountered this? What I did was to install a new OS (XP), then FS2K2, then SB for FS2K2, then the new version of Roger Wilco. Any assistance would be appreciated.Thanks, Tom

Hey allI've just completed a rather long flight partly on VATSIM (logged off after 3 hours and reconnected with 2 hours left to go).However, as I arrived into London in the early hours, no ATC was, of course, online. So, I began stating my intentions on UNICOM - mainly because various traffic was around both EGLL and EGKK (my destination), and got a few responses (as in, "I'm over Mayfield, altitude 4000, report distance to Mayfield).And then, as I turn onto finals, I report "LLZ established, speed 160 kts IAS". Hello Vatsim.There have been numerous dates in June that I have made flights on Vatsim that have not been entered in the user statistics for my ID#. Out of 4 flights in June, Only 1 has been listed in my User Statistics. So obviously the Statistics are wrong. Why even have a User Statistics if it's totally Bogus. So if any of you guys are monitoring these statistics to see who is the #1 user, you might as well forget it, because it's inaccurate. There is a total of 15 hours missing in mine just for the Month of June 2002. No Telling how many other hours they have failed to log. Also if your using these statistics as a Logbook, forget it... This seems to happen every weekend when traffic picks up - why do ServInfo, Whazzup etc stop working, but the VATSIM network still functions normally? I can log on and fly or control and everything appears fine, but the utils won't update and then try to load data that's sometimes more than 24hrs old.RyanZAB

Well I finally signed up for vatsim, loaded SB and Roger Wilco. I received my account info and read the instructions. Noew my problem, when I try to log on to a standard server such as USA2 it tells me my Call sign or password is incorrect. If I use Server Info and track down available servers and manually enter an IP address I can log into a "Private" server. What is a "private" server and why can't I log into a standard server? The private servers seem to have less offerings, I am interested in flying in the New England. I am running XP and Roger Wilco works when I can get a server, I tested it with a controller. Having a problem with SB host. I'll click on it in the modules section, start squawkbox, get the error message from squawkbox, user32.dll to blame, then restart SB host, restart squawkbox then it works. Multiplayer already enabled in FS2K2. The SB host box (the first one) will stay open, can't close it, can't minimize it and it kills the frame rates. How can I fix this?Lobaeux

Hello, I have windows xp and I've been connecting to vatsim no problem until 2 weeks ago. All of the sudden when I try to connect to the server I get the windows xp error message and I have to close squawkbox main. I did everything from uninstalling FS and Squawkbox...still nothing. I joined VATSIM and I am still experimenting so that I learn as much as possible before trying to fly online.I installed pro-controller and got conected as an observer but I note that I cannot read the text around airplanes. I tried to change fonts and colours but still cannot read it properly. Is there a way to do this. Currently I am using a dial up connection. I am able to connect through cable but I have to go through a NAT computer, is it possible to connect that way.

Im really confused on how to get this all going. so far ive created a VATSIm account d/led squawk box, roger wilco, and whassup. Im very confused on how to work evevrything out.
