Hi:I'm a longtime fligt simmer, just now trying to start flying online. I have just downloaded ServInfo... however when I start the application and hit the Vatsim button... it just continues to say "Loading". It is never able to connect. Does anyone have any explanations or solutions for this???Thanks a ton,Dave

Hi All,Has anybody encountered this problem with switching between windows? Basically I cannot switch back into FS.I am using FS9 to fly online; this is the procedure that I follow:-Start SB RelayStart FS9 and connect to multiplayerRun SquawkBox host and then main application.Connect SB and File Flight Plan, this once connected opens Roger Wilco.Start BAV ACARS and set ACARS time to FS time.Now when trying to switch back into FS a black screen appears and it does not allow me access to FS? Even using Task Manager I cannot switch screens? This is driving me crazy any help would be appreciative.ThanksPHIL

I have been flying VATSIM for about a month. I find using the text mode to be a hassle; however, I am not sure what inexpensive microphone I should purchase. Anyone have a recommendation? MJK at RDU

Hello all,I have purchased PMDG 737NG and I would like to test this new baby Boeing in VATSIM enviroment. Last time I used VATSIM and before that SATCO was in FS2000 days and that was more than 2 years ago. Now, I have FS04 and I have no idea where to start.I am active on-line, however I use PS1.3. Set up for that is much more different than for FS based SB.Would anyone be so kind and adivse me what I need to have to enjoy flying on-line?Thank You,Andrej Lippay

Hello folks out there I decided to try vatsim and see what I was missing, and after a week of loading everything up, all I can say that there is a tremendous learning curve with all that software you have to load.I have read all of the manuals in vatsim, and I have a few questions so please forgive my ignorants.1. After you are up and running, looking at your plane and you got it running in a bay ready for taxi, I get confused on how to contact atc, do I need to put the freq. of the airport that im at. I have just registered with VATSIM and am working through the PRC. I would like to get the software installed, but clicking on Squawkbox2 for FS 2004 on the VATSIM home page takes me to an AVSIM webpage that is currently down until further notice. I would like to know if there is anywhere else I can get the software to get me started.Peter Lowry

Does anyone know where I can get squakbox other then on VATSIM/AVSIM?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm absolutely at my wit's end with this one... some problems are a bit annoying. I like a bit of tinker with my computer as the next man, but this one's no longer funny! :) I've been trying to get into controlling with ASRC and I've given up on that since it started crashing after a few minutes of being started. It just froze every time as it took up loads of the CPU. Having given up on my future career as the saviour of our congested skies, I decided to dive back into my little airbus. When I enter my VATSIM ID and password in AVC, it says they are incorrect. What is wrong?Thanks- pwapilot

I just registered with Vatsim today. I've received my user id and password. I was trying to login to the Pilot Resource Center, but am unable to do that. Do I need to set up all of the other software to get that to work or should I be able to do that as a "stand alone". Thought some of that information would be very helpful to me at the beginning. Hello, I have win XP home, and FS 2004. I have recently tried to use SB and SB relay with VATSIM. Hi thereI have just joined VATSIM and have tried for the last two days to download squawkbox so that I can get started, but for some reason the download is not working.Is there a problem at the server or is it my machine!!The download does not autostart, and you get a file not found error if you follow the failed download instructions and 'click here' (if you know what I mean)Any help appreciated, or details of an alternative source for the software.Regards,Naz

Ive tryed doing Vatsim before but it never worked so I came here and hopefully I can get some help. Ive downloaded these programs,FSUIPC.dllHostSB.dll UpdateSBRelaySquawkbox 2.3 BetaI just needed someone to walk me throught it so I dont mess anything up last time I did everything perfect but it didnt work for some reason. my SBrelay crashes all the time and then i cant see any other traffic. any ideas?adam

Since yesterday, when i go to multiplayer in FS and click search, the search finds 2 SBRelay2004 servers, and i cannot see other traffic now and when i type text in SBhost it doesnt show up in the green strip at the top of the FS screen? can anyone help? only once today have i managed to see other traffic, and i dont know how i did it. once FS found 4 of the same SBrelay2004 servers.adam

I'm new to the on-line flying scene.I recently downloaded ATOC and can connect to their servers with no problems and can hear the controllers OK. I understand the need to register with avsim because of the trouble makers out their.My question is, if at a later date, and being registered with Avsim, would it be possible (ordered headset) to join as an observer at least?I'v been flying the PMDG 737-NG and some one posted a link to FPI. Hey guys, i have a little bit of a problem here. When i log on to Vatsim and i am in ground waiting for my IFR clrc ,checking f/p and doing other things, i have noticed that in Servinfo doesn't appear my flight status (it doesn't shows "Departing" with a green triangle) and when i am parked at KMIA for example, my airplane appears near the Florida's coasts parked, and also i can't contact the TWR, crazy stuff isn't it?. Well, when in cruise level or simply out of ground everything seems to be ok, but once i land or touch the ground, my flight status again dissapears (this time doesn't shows "Arrived" with a red triangle). HeyWith SB 2.3.5 and FS2k2, How do I get the TCAS to display in my cockpit? I can only find it by alt-tab-ing over to the SB Main Panel....Is there anyway to get the ATC Directory to show up in the cockpit too??Many Thanks

Well today i finnaly came around to trying to get onto Vatsim, but i have 2 problems. First, when start SB it says ICAO folder not found, whats that? and also, i cant connect, it says connection has forcfully stopped or something along those lines, i followed the steps but no joy. can anyone help?adam

I have a couple of problems that i cant seem to fix. One is that when i click file flightplan it says missing file csl_icao.cvs. also when i start squawk box it says critical error:could not open file icao.dat, and when i try to connect it says, attempt to connect was forcefully rejected. can anyone help?adam
