Lately using FS9 I have found the Vatsim weather to be significantly different from the weather I am getting from Serverinfo.Normally I use Activesky but due to severe wind shift I decided to go with VATSIM Wx. I am on VATSIM, my buddy is on VATSIM, so are the other 4 or 5 guys that fly as a group. We all have the same planes in our files and the same discriptions, textures etc. So why do we not see them as they really are in their proper colors? All we see is those stupid CSL planes.

Hi,I joined VATSIM just two days ago and installed squawkbox and HostSB; I had FSUIPC 2.975 so I thought -maybe I was wrong- it unecessary. After reading a few tutorial decided to try a listening session. After configuring a fs2002 multiplayer session I created and started a flight, but -great surprise- after a few seconds the plane started to sink in the ground and crashed!!! Something like it was with the gear retracted. Interesting is the fact that I closed FS and created a new flight -not in multiplayer mode- and the plane was sinking again. Today I tried to download and install FSUIPC 3.14 and the plane crashed just after registering it for squawbox. So I uninstalled…

It is not an AVC issue but a Norton Internet Security (NIS) problem acting on AVC. I am on WinXP SP1 FS on main PC (198.160.0.1) All the rest on second PC FS on main PC (198.160.0.2) Both PCs have WinXP , NIS and connected with a crossover cable to their LAN cards. Network was setup properly via the TCP settings of the LAN connection and both PCs see both properly. Master PC shares the ISDN64 Internet connection to the other one. Dear All, I poste this earlier on the Squawkbox forum, but thought maybe I could also get an answer from here:Hi FolksI run FS2002pro with WideFS, keeping SB on the remote client machine.Everything works well; I can see all the others online, and there are no issues except for one little one.I do not hear any of the SquawkBox sounds on either of the machines.I have checked folder where Squawkbox is installed, and all the sound files are there. Looking for some info on how to make this work.I have PCPRoxy and I know I have to set it up to connect to a Vatsim server, and have ASRC and SB connect to my local host on 127.0.0.1 here is my problem. I start ASRC and connect no problems, I then start FS2002 and SB. FS2002 sees the Multiplayer no problem, but when I try to start SB it will not. any ideas?

Hello Everyone!I'm having a little issue with Squawkbox 2.0 and FS2004. I've followed the tutorial on getting FS2004 online (using SB and SBRelay) and I've gotten on once before. However now when I start up, SB gives me an error window when connecting just stating that it's going to shutdown and log file is being created. (This is using the Run --> HostSB.dll from within the FS)I can (however) get things running if I used the SBhost.exe file however this is less than desirable because I have to continually switch windows to be able to use SB. Hi,Have installed the ServInfo 2.02 gauge in my PMDG 737NG panel but get an error messsage saying "Could not open the selected file!" whenever I try to change voice channel using the "TUNE" button on the gauge and when checking AVC the voice channel has not been changed...Have no problem changing voice channels using the "ATC Directory"-function within "SB Host", so as far as I can tell it appears to be a ServInfo gauge problem - anyone seen this problem before?TIA,

Hey all, I'd first like to use this post to thank all of you virtual and real-world controllers out there who help spice up virtual pilots' lives. I recently flew with an uncle of mine and he let me handle some of the radio communications. You could see how impressed he was with my profficiency (considering I'm only a student pilot so far) and that is thanks to ou guys and vatsim. But now let me cut to the chase: Is it ok to simulate emergencies while flying with VATSIM? That would encompass all sorts of emrgencies, from Engine failure to cabin pressure loss to hijacks to birdstrikes. BTW, aren't there appropriate squawk codes that are to be used in such cases? Hello,Apparently the extended AVC is due to be unsusable as of Feb 1st.Do we have to go back to the old Roger Wilco, or any good surprise is suppose to come out by that time.Personnaly, AVC is 100 times better than RW.If any as an idea, thanks for letting me know.Cyrille

HiHave been trying to access my VATSIM statistics - and have the following problem: 1. I type in my ID and password on request. 2. It seems OK as I move to second page where I am recognized by name and asked to type in a confirmation number, shown on the screen. 3. I do that and than I got the red message - Authorization Failed. I have been re-typing new coming numbers, as requested, for a dozen of times - no luck.As far as I know browser, cookies & firewall settings are as requested, have Win XP Home SP1.Any tips will be appreciated.Chris ( Newbie )[email protected]

I was trying to download the file from the sites but it doesn't download .When i managed to d/l it finaly its currupted and once you go into the squawkbox it give massages such as "Can't open Icao file" Or when you click on let's get in to action button nothing happend !Please Help Me ... !I'd really like to start flying with you guys .ThanksRom

I posted this in the general forum but no interest. Any ideas?Last night while flying into KSDF I pulled in the Wx from Serverinfo (flying using VATSIM weather). Weather indicated 3/4 NM of visability and snow. When I was on approach I was able to see the runway from 8 NM and their was no snow at all. I then tried to use Active Sky...same indicated weather and same result on the screen.Any ideas why this is happening....I am using FS9. I have the clouds set up per the optimization guides on this forum.By the way I just now flew if FS2002 to KBUF, zero vis and it showed just fine using Vatsim weather so I think this is a FS9 issue.Mark.

SB FMS gives me this error when I attempt to go direct to a waypoint: "Are you sure that all squawkbox.dat files are in the same directory as squawkbox.exe" - All the .dat files are in the same directory - I've double checked that all waypoints are entered correctly I've been experiencing this problem when typing in most waypoints or Airports. Do I need to update my .dat files? What is wrong? Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi guys.....I am an experienced VATSIM pilot previously using FS2002. Now that I have FS2004, I can't seem to connect to VATSIM anymore despite my best efforts. I have read the manual for connecting up using FS2004, but I keep getting error messages (and offering to send the problem to MS !) when I use Host SB.dll., so I can't go that route. I have yet to read how to use SB Host, FS2004, Squawkbox, and SB relay. I need this information. I am running FS9 with sbrelay. I can connect to all the servers fine but My aircraft does not appear on the map on ServInfo. My flight plan and everyhting shows up but I do not appear on the map and ATC cannot see me. Does anyone know what the problem is. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I sympathise with previous posters, who have tried for days or weeks to get online with Vatsim, with the tedious 3rd party software problems, with the registration and with the sheer helplessness of it all.I have been there, I spent my whole 2 week Christmas Holidays trying.I would have failed, unless you are a programmer or similar you will struggle.The Easy Way??I joined a VA who had an active and friendly membership who flew on IVAO and Vatsim. Hi guys yet again its crashing again i have tried loading SBhost into FS9 in Windowed mode but trying to get into Full screen after connection is impossible. One way that does work is hosting a session instead of joining SBrelays but of course i see no CSL Multiplayer traffic now still though it doesn't crash through this method. Hi,no problems connecting or anything.. lucky me.The main "problem" I have encountered is the fact that I don't know if there's a nearby controller online. The list shows you names, but are they in range? The list isn't always reliable. E.g., when taking of from EGCC (Manchester, UK) I often see LFPG (France) in my list, while Londen isn't even showing (yet).Once you have found a controller that is supposed to 'control'you, it's easier, cause they will tell you who to contact next or, if there's no controller available, to switch to Unicom.It would be nice if the list showed the range in miles from your present location, or a symbol that tells you if you are in their 'fie…

To my new brothers and sisters in the online flying world, I am having trouble getting started. I have gone through all the sections of the prc, and am trying to connect to the network. When I start SBRelay and FS and go to the multiplayer section, there is nothing that says SBRelay - FS2004. So, I search for 127.0.0.1 and nothing happens. I was just hoping that someone could get me pointed in the right direction. If you need more info than that to help me, please let me know and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I understand there are "CSL" files available to more appropriately show other aircraft? I added one as per one of the many documents I read during all this and currently see only two other aircraft flying around.I see one jumbo for all jets with a yellow livery logo on it and all GA aircraft are copies of my aircraft.Where does one go to better simulate this and is it worth it? If I understand correctly I'd be adding hundreds of megs of data to the setup (Is it added to FS, which is less desired, or Squawkbox, which would be more desired) just for those rare times when you see other planes in a session?

Hello fellow simmers.Lately, I encounter a very strange and annoying problem: Occasionally (and this is the most frustrating thing since it really makes it hard to point the problem) when trying to connect to VATSIN. First let me describe you the procedure I'm running:1) Open SBRelay, 2) Open FS2004, 3) Start FS multiplayer, 4) Open SquawkBox Host, 5) Run SquawkBox.Now here things start to go wrong. In 10-20% of the time, everything goes well and I can connect to SB without problems, see and hear everybody and everything is fine. HOWEVER!
