Hello,Ok, I'm using 2 computers, a 1GHZ with WideFS, which is running ActiveSky, AVC Tuner, AVC, Squawkbox, and everything else needed just to use the second computer for VATSIM, of course the game computer is 2.17Ghz, and runs fine.The problem, I have just setup the widefs setup for VATSIM, and am getting a successfull logon, however, SB is taking forever to load, even down to the filing flight plan portion. What could be causing this? Also, I'm using a cable connection to the internet, and a 10/100 Network connection.Thanks.Miklos

I've installed SB, SBRelay etc. for the first time on my brothers sim set-up to get him able to use the VATSIM network. I'm having troubles with getting squawkbox started. Squawkbox is getting stuck at the point after you click OK for squawkbox to locate session to join SBRelay (continually searching ...), before Squawkbox starts.I'd started FS, SBRelay, started a multiplayer session, HostSB, etc. as normal OK. What would cause Squawkbox to not find the SBRelay session? Suggestions anyone please!ThanksMike Day

I've noticed that my VATSIM statistics haven't been updated since late April. None of my online time (neither as pilot or controller) is being logged. Moreover, I'm not even listed as a controller even though I joined VATUSA succesfully. I can connect as pilot or controller with no problem, and I'm showing up as online on VATSIM's online list (as well as ServInfo). My online time simply isn't logged under the stats for my ID. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this. I could live with not having my flight hours logged by VATSIM, but losing controller time presents a problem. Any help would be greatly appeciated.Thanks!

Hello everyone..got a big problem, I have been using SB and Vatsim for years now, never had this problem before. I keep getting kicked off the servers. I tried all four servers in the US and the same thing happens. for a 1.3 hr flight I had to log in 4 times, It was fine just the other day. Anyone know what I can do? I just installed some new senery...since that time i keep getting kicked off. Any info would be great.Jason

Hi everyone, I am a new user to VATSIM; started using like a week ago. But VATSIM's ATCs and pilots gave me a whole new experience in the aviation field. I was child who dreamed and still dreaming to be a pilot, however the reality had closed the door for me. Yet VATSIM had made the SIM world much more realistic and fulfilled my desire of saying,"request for take off clearance" one day. Hi!I have created an VATSIM account today and followed the install instructions for FS9 according to the tutorial in the PRC.(For some reason Squawkbox crashes when using this FS internal host (hostsb.dll) so i am using the SB Host.)Even though i obtained the current VATSIM server IPs with ServInfo and opened the ports mentioned in the tutorial i can't connect to any server and get the error message above.Any suggestions what else could be wrong?Thank you!

Gents, I have thoroughly searched and followed all the suggestion posted in the forums, installed, reinstalled, wiped out and reinstalled, and still to no avail. I have disabled the firwalls, opened ports, disabled UPNP, and tried both wireless and hard wired. I have tried the IVAO host and SBrelay. I have followed the PRC guide line item by line item, and still nothing is working. I have the most current versions of DX, SB(unfortunately the most current version is so old), SBRelay, FSUIPC(fully registered), I have tried with hostsb.dll and sbhost.dll, and still nothing. Well, today I finally spent the time to get setup for VATSIM (I initially figured it would be to confusing) and it was actually very simple if you have the time and patience to configure and download everything...Anyways..after setting everything up I was actually able to get it working. (Go Me) Here is a quick question, now that everything is set up, and I begin going for my first flight on VATSIM I need to know once I file a flight plan and I am in a area which is controled, Do I need to contact Clearance to advise my flight plan is filed or do I wait to be contacted?? That is pretty much it...Just wanted to make sure I didn't interupt anyone else.

Just curious about the use of ATC Simulator 2 and VATSIM. I saw ATC Simulator 2 in the stores. Although I do not act as ATC on VATSIM I was curious whether the majority of you ATC people use this tool or use the one that is required for VATSIM.Or is it not possible to use this piece of goodlooking software with VATSIM?Thanks in advance!

GreetingsI participated in VATSIM LAX Rush Hour event this past w/e, flying SWA336 - KOAK to KLAX. I was really looking forward to flying in this busy VATSIM traffic!I think I have a reasonable system (2.4 GHZ P4 w 512M, GF4 w 128M). I run FS9 flying PMDG 737NG, with FSNav running on a 2nd monitor, acting as my electronic flight bag. Hi all Vatsim members. I am teaching my friend to fly properly in order that he can join the vatsim community. We fly online via the normal fs9 multiplayer option. I log on as observer and give him instructions via roger wilco and follow behind. What I would like to do is to jump into his cockpit so that I can see exactly what he is doing. Basically so we are both seeing the same screens. Is it possible to initiate this in any way.thanx.Keith Sandford

I was flying Winnipeg to Vancouver and there were no controllers on at the time during the entire flight. In preparing to land I announced to "Vancouver Traffic" via unicom my position, altitude and STAR / Runway. Shortly after that I was sent a message by a controller in England (a tower position) that it was improper to use Unicom to announce intentions. I replyed that I had read the Vatsim training documents and listened to numerous other pilots but I am still new and would he tell me the proper use of the Unicom frequency. He replied but my squawkbox connection was lost just at that same time and I missed all of it including the rational except him starting to say…

Ok, I have roger wilco, host sb, fsuipc, squawkbox, and everything is fine...connects good. I can't talk to anyone. I tried every net at ATL(Atlanta airport), and no one was there. this was at 0945 central time. Was it just that no controllers were there, or am I doing something wrong? I canceled the flight plan and logged off so as not to bog down the system. This is really frustrating, because it took me 3 days just to get connected. I am very good with comp's, but this is my first time, and I'm having a lot of problems. Can someone please help me here. Thank You.

hi you guys, hope you can help meOk, the problem its the following: when i log on to vatsim, my flight status in servinfo always appears with a "?". Also says that i am like in the middle of my flight when i am not even started, and finally says that i am in another position completely different from the airport that i am parked in, and last but not least the controllers can't see me in their scope parked in that airport. Hello,I used squawkbox a while ago without any problems. I followed the tutorial step by step. started sbrelay thenfs9, opened a multiplayer session and joined the sbrelay session.started SBhost and then the squawkbox main programm. when it starts searching for a session it doesnt find anything.i used to be on broadband and a router now I am on dialup, no firewall or anything like that. any idea what is wrong?
