Every now and then I will lose the text bar from the top of the screen.How do I get it back, I have tried restarting SB but still no joy? I can usually still hear voice.Any ideas would be greatly appreciatedregards Robert

Hello, I didn't know where exactly to post this message and this seemed like the most approapriate place. The problem is I'm having trouble accessing the Nav data link tha you guys posted which should grant access to the latest AIRAC cycle. I've tried accessing the site from elesewhere as well (google etc) but so far I haven;t been able to get there. The real quesiton is: does anybody know where can I find the airac cycle other than the official site? thanks for the help, and sorry if this wasn't the right place to post this question

Using FS9 and AVC while twice trying to land at LAX during their LAX Rush event, both audio and video slowed to a crawl, skipping/stuttering at an unacceptable rate. I have no idea if the plane's position was being updated properly with ATC. I could barely get onto Squawkbox to disconnect. As I said, this happened twice as I was on downwind and within 5 or so miles from the airport.I assume my system began slowing when near so much other traffic. Any suggestions welcome.

Yesterday I was going to do another flight and I seemed not to get connected to Vatsim. Since then I have tried several times and it keeps on happening the same.This is quite odd, since I did everything I always do since I must have flown more than 30 times using Vatsim. When I connect to Vatsim I get the blue message in Squawkbox saying I am connected, but i never appear in Servinfo (maps, pilots connected or anything), although Servinfo says it is updated. Other than that I tried not using Activesky to see if I get Vatsim weather and I don't get it either, and finally what's telling me that definitely I am not connected is that when I close Squawkbox, it just closes wit…

Hi All.I was up late, I wasn't feeling very tired,and the UK controllers had all gone to bed.so I thought hmmmm, lets have a look over the pond and see whats going on, well I did a flight from KLAX to San Jose intnl, approx 260nm trip, and it went great,after getting my clearance twice that is, I struggled a bit at first because I had been so used to the UK dialogue and way of doing things that it was slightly different when connected to the USA, but I had a great time,and the guy's were great too.I would highly recommend others to do it more often, and I didn't see or hear a single other Speed Bird whilst I was on line either, they must all have been in bed (*;*)C YaStev…

I am unable to start the squakbox.Yesterday for the first time.. I setup everything and ran.. I was able to connect via the Squakbox. It took a while to connect... It was in the search thingi for a while... and then I got the Squakbox meny within the FSim9.today.. I have been unable get this thing going.. So I tried to say cancel to come back and enter the IP 127.0.0.1 in the IP address box..But I get the following error pop up.."Squakbox.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. Hello guys i have a been a SB user for a couple of years during the SATCO time, and i never had problems with traffic not showing. Now and under FS2004 i can see the traffic in the TCAS of SB, but not visually on FS2004. I start normally by opening SB Relay, i start SB Host, SB.exe type in 127.0.0.1, And sign on normally. Hello!I installed all the necessary software to fly FS9 connected to VATSIM (following the instructions on the pilot resource center). However, when I try to connect I usually get a "connection forcefully rejected". What does that mean? I checked my user id for validity and it seems to be ok.Please help! I have Vatsim ID and Password.. I even have the PRC Password (which is different).I have followed the directions ..as per the tutorial in the VATSIM PRC (Pilot Resource Center). And nowhere I have found that there is something called Pilot Registration number and password.When I tried to connect , Its asking me for Pilot Registration number and password.What is this?thanks

When in sqwakbox, I type in my passord and userid, select one of the secrver.I get now the following:WSAETIMEOUTThe attempt to connected timed out without establishinga connection.Just a few days ago it was fine.

I am a memeber of VATSIM.Everytime I try to use multiplayer I get the same problem. I get as far as squawk stanby and 'AVC' pops up. I click on connect and up comes a report telling me that I am not registered and should register at Vatsim!!I have checked all my reg details over and over with no luck.Perhaps I should go to 'IVAO' eh?Dave.If it burns Kerosene and makes a noise, I'm interested.

hello folks out there im a newbie out there on line and i have three or four trips and i like it, but i feel alone out there most of the time unless you are at a busy airport but i do have two or three questions.1. am i suppose to see other planes out there if they are close to me, is that what the csl files is suppose to be for to allow you to see other planes(people on the net). i put the file in the fs9 aircraft folder and changed the file inside to aircraft.cfg.2. when you are about to take off and there is no controller , how do you request atis and how do you get it.3. when you are in route and you are at say 33000 feet, and you know it is time to descend and there …

I am learning all about VATSIM..(I amtrying) I have registered and have installed the basic required s/w.. I think. But before I venture into the net...and annoy people.. I have a couple of Qs.1. Somewhere I read.. that once I am in.. I should not "Pause". fair enough... but how is that possible? The moment I hit the "alt" button for the menu for something.. it pauses.. How can I avoid this? Sometimes... when I am on the net.. I get the nasty Junk pop ups that sometimes pauses my Fsim too.2. this may sound silly.. what and how do I "Slew"? I'm a newbie at Vatsim. Yikes!I think I have most everything working - but on the VATSIM site I can see my flightplan - Good! But when I go to the visual display I'm seeing all zeros for my data - lat/lon,alt,squawk, etc.What am I doing wrong?Senior Captain, Pier Glass Aviation

I have managed to get online once with vatsim. The squawkbox tech service is down right now so i cant use that. I open up HostSB and then I open Squawkbox. I go through the steps and I click get into the action. It says added fakeplayer to fs2004 and causes an error, but it also says jspilot added to fs2004. It is like it adds 2 players. Sometimes I cant even get that far! Wondering if anyone had this problem or knows how to fix it. Thanks James

I'm new to Vatsim, and LOVE the conecept - but it's been SO SO FRUSTRATING. ALmost every flight I've taken, by the time I'm in the planned, filed and in the air - the controler in teh space I'm flying in or into is GONE.Is there a regular schedule o ris this just the way it is and you have to deal with it? I'm new to Vatsim and I've got a major problem. The wind chucks my plane about all over the place. I get about 30kt fluctuation on IAS and cannot maintain wings level or directional control. As example figures, the ATIS gives 290/18kts, Pressing Shift Z shows this to be about right. Every 5 to 10 seconds the screen will flicker and I will suddenly have 290/55kts. This causes the plane to lurch by more than 50 degrees angle of bank and gives a major loss of airspeed. The situation improves if I clear all WX on FSUIPC however I then get the wind at 360/05 with clear skies which is not representative of the real WX. Please HelpKev

When flying on VATSIM, the airspeed indicator fails above about 4000'. I have tried this on several planes (737, 767) with deice on. Comes back on when descending below 4000'. I have just installed the VATSIM software (SB/Relay,AVC/Tuner) and happily it all works. I have not found much written about ATIS (I may not be looking in the right place). I would like to know if I should install Voice ATIS and whether I can expect to find it available at most controller-staffed airports. Peter Lowry
