Routers, SB, and FS9I have found SB and AIBridge connection problems using FS9 are being caused by the firewall in my router (Linksys BEFW11S4). As recommended, I will NOT be disabling the firewall. The best suggestion I have seen is adding filters allowing FS related programs through the firewall. I can't get get SB to JOIN with FS2004. I am going exactly as the instructions say in the PRC. I get to step 12, I see the game and then hit JOIN. I either get a DIRECTPLAY SAMPLE error screen or it just hangs.I put a fresh OS and FS2004 on another partition. It worked on that ONCE, but never again. And the same thing happens on my laptop.BTW I reinstalled DirectX. Hello all, I am a VATSIM newbiew, have read all the required reading and I am have read all the software requirements as well as installed and updated all required software (alot of it ain't there?) problem I am having is with Advanced Voice Client, when I open it up (either with the shortcut of threw FS9) I get an error saying..the Device you selected is not a valid input device, please select another.no problem BUTwhen I hit OK it crashes the program and I get a AVS.exe has generated errors and is being closed by windows etcetcI run windows 2000 pro that has service pack 4, Thank you for the helpLuc

Hey all. Yet another newbie! To enable voice within ASRC the instructions say to goto Options, Settings, Then select the box beside enable voice enhancements. What if there is no box? The screen shots found on the asrc website detail a box below the atis settings showing exactly this...my version does not show this. Is there another version? Is there a list of Airlines and the ICOA letter codes somewhere? In servinfo you can only search if you know the name. I am looking for a Navy or Airforce ICOA code so I can fly f14 tomcats (and Air Force 1) with Airforce or Navy call sign, and so it will show up in ServInfo.

Is there a program that we can use to connect to the vatsim servers and text message the controllers to find out how much longer they wil be on instead of spending 15 minutes setting up only to have them sign off?That gets annoying.Thanks

I have discovered a possible bug in hostsb.dll.I've been noticing lately that I can't switch back from windowed to full screen mode in FS 2004. The screen freezes, and the mouse cursor continually flashes between arrow and hourglass.After intense testing, I've learned that this ONLY happens with hostsb.DLL in the modules folder. when I remove it, everything works fine.I don't even have to RUN the module - it just has to be in the folder.Who should I report this too? I don't know where the module comes from.Gavin

Hello All -I just fired up FS9 and Vatsim for the first time in a LOOONG time, and I'm having a little bit of trouble. I was able to install everything with no problem and connect to vatsim servers. However, when I go to the ATC directory all I see is UNICOM on any VATSIM Servers. Especially when there are controllers manning the stations.On servinfo, I show up off the coast of Africa when I'm flying from KPIT to KBUF. Kinda had me confused there :-)I've checked all the port forwarding in my linksys router and everything is opened to my statically assigned machine. Any help?Thanks,Rob

Before getting into actual flying with ATC, is there a way to "listen"to ATC at a busy airport via voice ot text, so I can get familiar with the interaction between pilot and ATC?Thanks for any info.

I'm afraid I'm another frustrated guy who'd like to try VATSIM. Two things stop me in my tracks now--1) Every time I try to log into the Pilot Resource Ctr. I get 'Invalid Login.' My ID & password are copied directly from the email from VATSIM. I used to be able to get in, but VATSIM informed me that I had a previous ID and my later one was cancelled. Fine, I'd use the old one, except that it has never worked. Can I somehow cancel completely and start over??2) When I try to connect in Squawkbox, AVC pops up with 'Your callsign was not found. Whenever I try to run Squawkbox with FS9. SBRelay and suc already done, I get this error message: 891111 Illegal read attempt: offset 0354, size 2891111 ... Program or module not accredited for use with this unregistered FSUIPCNow I understand what that means, but do I HAVE to buy FSUIPC to use FS9 on VATSIM?And if not, how?

I would much appreciate some assistance as to the best way to obtain the ATIS for a destination airport. I am able to get it on ServInfo if there is a tower or ground controller who has posted the ATIS. But what am I expected to do otherwise particularly if controlled by a center where there may or may not be an approach controller and there is no tower or ground controller? PDL.

Hi there, I've just been able to get on the vatsim network after 6 months of working through it to fix it, but it seems another problem has just sparked up after one successful flight. Now, everytime I connect to the network, my internet loses it's connection with the provider. Is there something I am doing wrong? If I don't lose the internet I get the timeout error. Another problem, but easier to fix is the message that I receive every time about a new aircraft entering my area. I must click on "no" to not disable features, i believe it is, to a certain aircraft. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!Corey A.

I know most ARTCC's and VATUSA and VATSIM all have events calendar's of their own. But is there one central place where all VATSIM or VATUSA events that take place are posted? I'd love to get into some of the groupflights I see going from time to time, or the events, but it's hard for me to go check every individual ARTCC homepage + VATSIM + VATUSA. Is there no one place where everyone posts these events?

When searching for a valid Multiplayer session never finds game. Details ...I followed 'VATSIM UK Pilot Training BASIC unit 1'. All s/w installs OK etc & have added 80.249.98.88 to ipaddr.tx OK. I can get FS2004 running OK. Then set up Multiplayer OK. HostSB runs fine. Problem occurs with SQBox (v2.3) which does not find the running game at all, just keeps searching. Tried 127.0.0.1 also. If I cancel it runs up OK with some error but appears to work from then. Obviously no connection though.Oddly it worked the 1st time I tried it but not since. I noticed after using FS9 and squawkbox 2.3 two items that I previously experienced in FS2002.1. I no longer can see the SB message in the green box that scrolls across the top of the FS screen. I hear the sound and have to switch over.2. I no longer can see other a/c in my area. ATC can see me but I can't see others.Have I forgotten a setting in FS9 to enable these things?Thank

The last time I set up Squawkbox, I had a dialup modem and as per the setup instructions selected the slow modem option. Some time after this setup I changed from a dialup modem to high speed cable for my internet service and if I remember correctly did not change anything realative to Squawkbox (retained the slow modem selection).I Just upgraded some of my computer hardware and reinstalled squawkbox. I notice that there is also a choice for a cable option. I selected the cable option for my current setup. I notice that some of the voices are somewhat muffled.
