Hi all,Well I *FINALY* managed to get broadband so I'm thinking of using online ATC but theres a few things which confuse me! (I am reading the guides). Firstly, is there a timetable that shows when contollers are going to online for specific airports? I mean, if I set up a flight from Heathrow to Washington, get all the way to washington and the contoller logs off as I arrive, I'll be left with no ATC! If you planned to fly in Central Europe lately, today is the day! 2 major events with more than 50 controllers participating will take place in Switzerland, Austria, Poland and Germany. Our eastern colleagues at Poland start at 1600Z with their "Chopin V" event, and they present their capital airport EPWA fully staffed! Is there a way to set one of the buttons on my CH Products flight yoke to use as the transmit button for AVC? I tried clicking on change button in AVC but nothing happens when I click on the yoke button I want to use. It only allows me to assign a keyboard button or a mouse click. Would be nice to assign it to the yoke because then it would be more realistic like in the real world. Thanks for the help

I'm getting the "invalid callsign or password" error message when trying to connect to the Vatsim network. I'm assuming the pilot registration number is my Vatsim ID number and the password is my PRC account password.If this isn't correct, could I please be directed to where I can get the proper network password.Thanks in advanceBruce

Hi allOnce apon a time I switched the firewall on in windows XP and had nothing but problems beeing booted from the server when flying online but now I have switched it off I get no problems what so ever, but now I have access to service pack 2 for XP but want to ask anyone if they have had similar problems after installing the service pack or if everything is fine, as it was before putting the service pack 2 on, please let me know your thoughts.Thanks allot guys take............Happy Landings all.........Daz

After some messing around i found that the following can prevent FS9 from crashing when attempting to go full screen with SB connected.Confirm in your FS9.cfg under the {Multiplayer} section says this.ALLOW_PLANE_MODEL_SEND=1ALLOW_PLANE_MODEL_RECEIVE=1ALLOW_TEXTURE_SEND=1ALLOW_TEXTURE_RECEIVE=1if not it could fix the crash i'm not sure but it worked for me. :DRegardsG-MIDY :-scatter

I made my first VATSIM IFR flight today from EGFF to EGCC. It was an excellent experience leaving EGFF exactly as the real thing.The only problem I had was that to contact EGFF tower first I had to change my AVC connection to rw.avsim.net/Unicom to /EGFF_V_Twr. This was worked fine but when I was asked to go on to Unicom when departing EGFF airspace my AVC wouldn't let me. I tried to fire it up but it told me it was in use on Port xxx and could not open its library. What am I doing wrong?

Good afternoon.I have a few questions regarding flying online. If the seem silly I apologise.When you fly online do you see other peoples aircraft flying?For example if I'm flying from Manchester to say London. Would I see other people in the skys and there aircraft as they are? Like if I was flying a 757 British Airways. Would someone else be able to see my 757 British Airways as it is?Also is it easy to get up and running?And do you speak to controllers through headsets just as in real life?

I have re-installed everything. FS2004, SB, SBhost.dll.....completed re did everything......added dirextX 9.0B and SB still gives me big problems. I really need to get this fixed. I used vatsim for a while 3 years ago.(Back when I was using FS2002) I had never used vatsim with fs2004 until about a month ago. I got it to work fine but noticed that the text message area on the squawkbox display was devoid of any text but my own and the controllers to me. Every time I would start it up and contact a controller the first question I am asked is are you voice enabled? Does anyone use text anymore or am I the only one? 3 years ago most people seemed to use text the most and not a lot of controllers were voice certified. I tried using a microphone then but remember I had a hard time understanding the controller over the computer speakers. Maybe because my …

Hello,Trying to change my e-mail address with Vatsim. However, using "Change e-mail address" form bounces back and tells me "It appears you are not using a valid ISP". If I then try and use the "Contact Member Services" form I get a pop-up that states please use a valid e-mail address and does not let me submit the form. I have tried a total of 4 different e-mail address from 3 different ISP's on both forms and am getting the same result. hey all,when ever i start servinfo this is what it says and pops up right away whenopend : Server data Warning:the data recived from usa-w vatsim.net server were last updated on(givesdates and times)avalible options: try a differnt server (list 2 other servers)retrive data from the VATSIM site "who is online" web-page(i always pic thisone and when i select it it shows everyone but no map and cant click on anythignand no icons and asks me if i want to save it)display these outdated data anywaydo not load anythingthis warning does NOT mean the network is down most probally there is trafficout there but Servinfo cannot show it just connect and fly as usual thats what happend…

Hi All,I am fairly new to VATSIM and loving it so far! One thing I noticed that I went to check my pilot statistics and found that my hours that I have flown to date do not appear when I check. I have checked under my callsign and nothing is logged and if I try to look by my VATSIM ID it doesn't even find me.Can anyone let me know why this is happening?Thanks!Darryl Brambilla911239

I had succesfully used FS9 with SBRelay1.2 ...then for unknown reasons, I now get an error message when I try to execute SBRealy..."failed to create empty document"Please tell me I am not the only person in the world to have this problem...I have done a search and come up with nothing on AVSIM.Thanks,Rob.

I have not heard any news from the convention. Will Vatsim be releasing a summary of this event ? Of particular interest is SB3. I know this was an item listed in the convention topics.Mark.

Thanks everyone thats helped I am now on line and listening to whats going on. But some ATC I can hear ok, others are broken up so you can only hear every other syllable. Is this me ( a wrong sound setting) or is it them?

Hi all in the forum....I guess i am the classic "armchair pilot", but i do want to know real procedures.I am confused about Flight levels. I understand the levels. but not which countries use particular levels and criterea. On two seperate occasions now vatsim ATC has asked me to change to an even FL because of the direction I was flying. so i guess vatsim uses semi circular rules. but i have downloaded internet data that says above FL290 all altitudes flown are odd, and only the seperation rules change.
