Hello!Swiss FIR invites once again to Zurich-Day tomorrow evening. Together with the Zurich Day, there will be a practical controller test on Zurich Tower. (a so called Tower CPT). Dominik, the trainee, has already he's third examination date tomorrow. The first two had to be candelled due to conflicting dates. We really hope, that it works this time!Zurich with two crossing and one single runway offers interesting traffic situations and approaches. I am new to VATSIM, I like it very much.But I have a problem.My SB hang after about 20min, even if I just fly like normal.I think it comes into a loop, because Taskmanager shows 99% processor usage for Squawkbox.exe.Someone know that problem?It would be nice if I got help of someone.

I am still trying to get online and I think I may be getting somewhere with SBhost.exe. At least SB starts, I don't seem to be getting any action but it's something. However if I try to use SBhost.dll SB never starts. I am left with the SBhost screen on top of FS and that's it. The only way out is to kill FS.I have looked thru the documents in the PRC and I have got some guides from 'Virtaul Pilot - UK' but is there an 'idiots guide' of what I should be doing to get online?PLEASE HELP

Hi,after installing SP2 for WinXP i had the following problem after conneting to Vatsim via SB2:"after about 1 or 2 minutes, max. 5, a message appears: "squawkbox has left the session" And in sbrelay it reads "Removed player 'Squawkbox' from FS2004 session"."Now i solved the Problem:Start SBRelayStart FS2004, Multiplayer, Start Session, Client Settings, Change both Ports to "other" and enter 23457 (not default 23456), if you use a Firewall, open these ports too.and then all other ...I stayed online today for more than one hour, without any problems.Gottfried

I use FS2002 and would like to know the capability and technique for making a GPS approach. Is it possible and how is it done?I have only flown ILS in FS2002. If not possible or practical, is it in any other flight sim programs?

Just wondering if VATSIM works the same way the default MSFS2004 ATC window? meaning do the ATC commands pop up in the window and you have to hit the number keys to choose choices? or is there a way to actually talk in a microphone and have your voice heard by real controllers and then you can have REAL controller responses sent back to you through your speakers or headset?If this is so, is a VERY FAST internet connection required? what hardware and software is required to do this?thanks

Hi. I am a new pilot and new user to this forum.After I installed all softwares to use the VATSIM and fly on the net, I can not see any plane.I changed in the SQbox to 40 planes, I have checked in the simulator that all the multiplayer optins are v checked. The ohter pilots can see me but I cann't see them :(I am using a router Edimax with no port open, but I am not sure that this is the problem coz 1. when I use the internet without the router the problem still exist 2. If the other pilots and ATC can see me there is no problem to connect...Anyone can help me?Thank in advance.

When i connect to the network via SB servinfo shows me in the DGAC region on the west african coast, but the problem is im not actually in that region, on flight simulator im actually in London EGLL. So my network position is different from my actual position.Please can any one help!!Many Thanks

Hi. I'm having problems getting onto VATSIM. I've tried the forum search, but have not been able to remedy my problem. I've verified my password and username is correct, and I've updated my serverlist (ipaddr.txt thing) and i'm trying all the avalible servers, but this message keeps showing up. Do I belong to a specific server? Could my server be unavalible?, or should I be able to connect to all the different servers? Thanks for your feedback. Elliot Brenchley

This is my first attempt to fly online and I am stuck! I am using XP Home SP2 and FS9. I have loaded Servinfo, SBrelay, SBv2.3 and hostsb.dll.SBrelay starts OK. FS9 multiplayer starts OK. I set up a flight on the ramp at a UK airport (Southampton) and start SBhost.dll. I then start SB I search using IP address 127.0.0.1 and press join. Now when I return to FS9 the HostSB window is grey and nothing happens.If I repeat this using SBHost.exe I can click to join the action but SBHost is hidden behind FS9.On a general point to do this I have XP SP2 firewall off, and I have to kill my zonealarm application or everything hangs. Hello all! I've recently upgraded my system and it's a real screamer. FS9 preforms like I never imagined (30-50 FPS with sliders maxed out). Anyway, I've just gottem back into VATSIM again but am slightly disappointed. I've followed the instructions to move to PAI aircraft instead of CSL, yet I can't make it work. I even went so far as to not install any of the CSL files, yet when I flew last night, that's all I saw for other players aircraft. I'm confused? Also, if I edit the CSL_ICAO.csv file, do I have to do it in MS Excel to make it work? I did some tinkering with the file using notepad and the changes seemed to stick. Lastly, do I need this mysterious VIP2 program …

Hi, guys. After trying to connect to VATSIM numerous times and failing every single time, I came here for help. I follow what is the text-book example of how to get on VATSIM, with SBRELAY, Squawkbox, etc. and everything goes perfectly, I see the window that says 'Click here to get into the action' and I click that and that works, but when I get into SB Host, that's the problem. I put on Squawk standby and everything, and send the flightplan, but when I click the button that says ok to the box that has your VATSIM ID and password, and other things like what server to connect to, etc. It always says that there's an error, that either the VATSIM ID or password is incorrect…

I cannot connect to any of the servers today with servinfo? I can connect with SB fine, but not servinfo and I was just wondering how that can be? The problem also, is that apperantly AVCTuner rely on the servers being updated or it can't see new ATC being added, and therefore I'm unable to use this program.

Greetings, I have a question regarding operations when few controllers are on-line. Specifically, suppose I want to fly from an airport with no controllers to an airport with at least APR. I know that if the Center is manned I should connect directly there and ask for flight plan clearance. Now:a). Will the center clear me for departure as well or should I takeoff from the unmanned airport on my own?:(. If there is no Center controller who should I contact for clearance and when should I contact the APR of the destination airport?c). I was connected but then disappeared both from vatsim visual display, and from servinfo.However ATC text and voice still worked next 30 minutes, landed and no other problems.Anybody know how come, and what does it mean ?Lennart SAS202

Hello, I've seen one or two posts similar to this on here, but with no solution. I've been online flying for 3 years without a problem, until now. Everything works perfectly, sbrelay connects, fs multiplayer loads fine, Squawkbox loads and connects. Now, after about 1 or 2 minutes, I see a scrolling text in fs2004 reading "squawkbox has left the session" And in sbrelay it reads "Removed player 'Squawkbox' from FS2004 session". I can still however fly perfectly, communicate with ATC, they can hear me with no trouble. I can see tcas traffic.
