Hi,I've just ventured into flying online with VATSIM.I've installed everything and it worked fine,but,everytime I right click on the box to enter or recieve a message the sim pauses......Is this how its meant to be?I then have to press "P" to continue flying but then when ATC contact me with any info,to read or reply to ATC I click on the SB box and the sim pauses again....most annoying.Any advice ?Thanks,Regards,Martin.

I don't really know what I'm doing. I don't know where or how to start squawkbox, or in what order with SBRelay. When in flight simulator, I click on "run" in the SB host menu and a grey screen pops up with the title "SB Host," but thats it. It is just a grey screen. I have read that people say to use the SBHost.exe that comes with Squawkbox, but I don't see that application in the Squawkbox file that I downloaded. I'm confused. I've read the tutorials in the Pilot Resource Center and they helped a little but the SB Host still doesn't run. I would appreciate any advice that any of yall could give me. W. Hi all,I am having a problem with all my controls freezing whilst flying or taxiing. It only happens when I am flying online.I might be turning to the right, and the controls will freeze unabling me to level off for a few seconds. The same may happen whilst turning a corner on the ground. If I hit ALT to bring the toolbar up, and then ALT again to resume flying it seems to reset.I have a 1gb processor, with 256 of RAM.I am using the Saitek X45 joystick throttle combination.Any suggestions, as it is driving me mad.Cheers all,Happy Flying.

Hello,After using FlightSimulator for a number of years I thought I would finally take the plunge and fly with Vatsim.....I've downloaded everything required,installed to the letter,and all I get when I run Squawkbox is "SB has encountered an error and needs to close".Any help would be gratefully appreciated as I really want to give this online flying a chance.Thanks,Regards,Martin.Ps. Hi gang!Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem: I'm using SB with FS2002...when flying I can only hear ATC/other pilots talking if I have the sound turned off in FS...if the sound is ON, then they break up to the point of not being able to understand them. I can also hear them clearly if I have the FS minimized (to check Servinfo for example).It's just not the same flying without the sound of the aircraft...but I also need to be able to hear ATC!Thanks!

Hello all, I am yet another new user of VATSIM, which i think is great, that will inevitably ask another basic question. Could anyone please help?When I am flying the ATC comms work fine, its just that i cant see any external traffic whatsoever. i copied the common files into my aircraft folder; is there anything else i need to do? i'm using VATSIM in FS2004.Thanks in advance!Nick

Hi,Searching different forums, I see that there are quite a few posts about people behind NAT Routers not being able to hear other people transmitting, using AVC (Advanced Voice Client). It seems to be an issue, especially with Netgear routers not forwarding UDP packets correctly, even though the correct ports are set up for port forwarding in the firewall.I have spent almost a week troubleshooting this problem, frustrated about the router not willing to let through any incoming voice transmissions. After trying every imaginable combination of settings I have finally come up with a solution. By posting in this forum, I hope that my findings may be of some value for other …

Hi Simmers,I am realy depressed. I tried everything.I have Squawkbox, Sb-relay,Sbhost, FSUIPC, & Roger Wilco.1) Loaded SB relay2) Loaded FS20043) Created a flight in LAX 4) Created Multi-player session Clicked on Sb-Host in the modules menu5) Loaded Squawkbox.exe in its folder6) Chose Sb-relay and clicked join7) Clicked on Click here for action8) Went back to FS2004 and waited in the SB-Host window. Nothing happens.....The Squawkbox is still in the aplications running on the computer and still I get nothing.Please help!I tried disabling the anti-virus, downloading FS9SBMP.zip and still nothing....Any ideas would be gladly appreciated,Thanks,Gil

Two day's ago I posted a invitation to fellow Pilots on AVSIM/VATSIM-Forum to come and have a look how ATOC works for those who like to fly with a friend without stutters and the best MP-Aircrafts displayed on the Net.A link to the introduction movie was also posted.Now after two day's the posting has disappeared. i recently installed winXP and fs2004....and all the other stuff.when i try to connect to SB it gives me the error "....has encountered a problem and needs to close"...i looked at the file and it says user32.dll.....everything was working 2 days ago and i havent made any changes. I re-installed squwakbox and fshost and sbrelay...whats the problem....Id hate to have to quit flying onlinethanksM swansonPIT Air traffic Manager

Trying to get first flight off the ground. Read and followed the instructions 103a-f, 122a. 1)When doing setup for FSUIPC I don't see "modules" tab in the drop down. 2)don't know how to start SB from within FS2004 3) Even after reading istructions several times it is still not clear to me the sequence of steps to get online 4) tutorial #122a at bottom of page "now you are ready to connect to vatsim," etc not sure what to do there. Any help appreciated, I have given this a good shot but this seems unduly complicated and not very intuitive.

Hi I am a new member and have downloaded the right stuff. I also did the first part of the training. I try to get ready to take my first flight. I load SBrelay, let it load, I connect FS2004 and it works. I connect SB to it and I get "Failed enumerating the hosts"I am on FS2004 with the Windows XP.I also have a router and have never had problems connecting. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.Tony

I am a newbie.I installed everything as said. I loaded everything the right way and the righ order, and when I load the shortcut for squawk box, I join the sb relay, and then I get an aplication error.It says:The instruction at "0x77e245c5" referenced memory at "0x001e4478". The memory could not be "read".Click on OK to terminate the programClick on CANCEL to debug the programAny ideas?

New to VATSIM, installed software per directions 103a-f. When I start MSFS 2004, hit alt to bring down menu, there is no "modules" tab to click on. Have already checked to see if .dll file in correct location per instructions. Where did I go wrong?

Hi,My Squawkbox does connect but after 5, 10, or 15 minutes disconnects. Over and over again! Till finally ends up crashing squawkbox and sometimes even FS2004 wasting my flight. (Just happened to me on a LICC to EGKK flight already in the Alpes!)I mean, my squawkbox does connect I receive and send ATC messages, but constantly disconnects no matter what server I choose.Is anybody getting into this situation??Cheers,Ricardo

Hello, i just got a microhpone and i wanted to try vatsim out. I got required programs like squak box but i have absolutely no idea how to get started. The manuals aren't helping much. I'm running FS2004 so i know that i need SBRelay 1.2, which i have, but don't know how to use. Can anyone guide me throgh this step by step?Thanx

Dear Flight Simmers:I have trouble with connecting to vatsim in FS2004. I cannot even connect to a multiplayer session in FS because the computer freezes each time I try to connect. I have squakbox and SBRelay installed on my computer. Could this be related to my computer settings, or is it a problem caused by Squakbox or SBrelay, or is it something else? Hi Everyone,I thought I would start my post here, just in case another person on the Vatsim Network has had the same problem.My Problem:I run FS2004 on a very powerful machine, I start SBRelay1.2 first, allow it to setup and then tell me Im ready to Start FS2004. I start it and get into my Aircraft I wish to fly, ie the PMDG737-700. I then proceed to connect to the multiplayer session and once that has been completed I will then start SBHOST which runs outside FS. I then start squawkbox and connect to the network.I will be sitting on the ground say at Sydney (YSSY), and I see all the aircraft around me, I even see them on the TCAS on this Aircraft. I also see a green line…

Hi,Noticed you have an option called 'Ignore real world weather' in SB Host in the same menu you connect to VATSIM, file your flight plan etc. Can someone tell me what that option does? What real world weather will be ignored if I check this option - the rww in SB or FS9? And what weather option should I use in FS9 when flying online on VATSIM - does it matter or does SB override the weather settings I choose in FS9 unless I check this option in SB?As you probably understood by now I'm not too sure how the weather works when flying online...;-)Cheers,

Back when I was using Roger Wilco, I think I could listen in to atc through the JOIN button on an ATC Details dialog box in ServInfo. Now that I'm using AVC, I get 'Authentication Failed--Your callsign was not found. You must log in on a VATSIM server before joing a voice channel.' Does this mean that, in order to do some listening practice, I have to load up FS9 and go through all the connection process? If so, then I'll do it, but not nearly so often as I'd like to.Thanks,Ed Gates
