Hi all, when using squawk box i am able to connect to a server and i am able to talk to the controller, but i cant see any of the other aircraft in the area.Can anyone help meJohn

I'm in great need of an FAQ.I'd like to start flying online but I'm having hard time understanding how the whole thing work. I have registered successfully but now I don't know where to go or what to do.The site does not have a help section from what I can see?What are the software requirements?And are there any hardware requirements? (is a microphone needed?)If anybody could point me to a foolproof (vatsim for dummies?)guide I would be very thankful.

Hello Everyone,Well I have a huge problem. I've installed SB and have the CSL installed correctly as well, but I cannot see ANY other multiplayer aircraft, even though they show up on my TCAS.I'm using SB Relay and SB Host, and if anyone can help me that'd be great.Mahmoud

Hi,Theres is currently an issue with ZoneAlarm version 5.0 that makes it incompatible with Flightsimulator's multiplayer. The SBRelay session will not show and you will not be able to join the session until you have completely shut down ZoneAlarm version 5.0.The cure is to downgrade to ZoneAlarm version 4.5. Hi, I'm new to VATSIM and don't know if I am making a really obvious mistake but would appreciate some help.I installed SB, SB Relay and SB Host for my FS 2004, I've followd all the instructions but every time I use SB Host and then start Squawkbox.exe, I get as far as selecting a connection and then Squawkbox gives me an error and shuts down. I have another thread down the page a bit that explains my problem. I am connecting to the servers with no problem, however once I do, ServInfo shows my position at 0.00 0.00 (Lat/Long) Also when I choose the "update weather" from squwakbox, it updates the weather from "DGAT" no clue where that is, anyway, I believe the problem is within FSUIPC, I have recieved the following error message..."FSUIPC Access Error!""One of more programs you are using is not accredited for access to an unrregistered copy of FSUIPC. Hi everyone, I am new to the forums and in need of some answers.I just upgraded to FS2004 from 2k2 and everything was working smoothly till a few days ago. I noticed SBRelay would not show up in my multiplayer for a few minutes. Now it wont show up at all, I dissabled my firewall and typed 127.0.0.1 and searched but still am unable to join the SBRelay session since. I just purchesed a new system pretty much just for 2k4 and dont want to go back to 2k2 to be able to fly on Vatsim. Thanks everyone!

One of our pilots is having a problem with SB and FS2004. For some strange reason his text messages are not getting out when he types in Squawkbox. He's following all the correct procedures when connecting. He can see the other aircraft when online. He can see the message traffic come across the text box. The problem is, no one can see his text message when he types it. Also when he clicks on a ATC, his freqs due not change to the proper channel. He has to use the servinfo gauge to connect to ATC. He is running the correct version of SB, SBRelay, HostSB, FSUIPC. His firewalls are down and we made sure he configured his ports correctly for his router. We even tried to unin…

Howdy, First let me apologize for posting this. I'm sure the answer I'm looking for is somewhere here on the forum, but after an hour of searching I couldn't find it. Here is my problem: When getting ready to fly, I start all of the required software (SBRelay, FS9, etc). Within FS9 I select MODULE/SBHOST/RUN. That starts fine. I then ALT-TAB to explorer to start Squawkbox. While Squawkbox is running I can ALT-TAB between SB and FS9 with absolutely no problems. Each time I select a menu from SB, it iconizes FS9 with no problems. HOWEVER, once I select CONNECT in SB I can no longer ALT-TAB (or select in any way) FS9. Hi all in the forum......I am flying online more as I build up my confidence but some things are still beyond my comprehension. Today the wind at EGLL was 180 degs. and the runways are 09/27 and thats exactly 90 degs from either direction so a good guess was no good and they are also left and right. So to my question...how do you know which is the current runway for take offs and landings in the absence of a controller when flying online so you do not spoil others flights.I suppose what i am asking is where do you get current ATIS information from apart from FS9 itself which sometimes leaves a little to be desiredMany thanks for any responsesJohn Calleja

I wonder if someone can clarify the overflight rules for Cuba.For American carriers flying from KMIA to Central and South America does Cuba allow for overflights or do all carriers fly around the island ?I assume for non-us Carriers flying over Cuba is a non issue.thanks,Mark.

I posted this on the vatsim forum, and will also post here since I cannot get onto the Detroit Controll area message board. Anyway, I had to drop out while upwind for landing at 22L this afternoon. My computer was evidently overloaded, squackbox and avc both crashed, and fs2004 even with simple wx and low scenery detail was hardly more than a slide show. I want all those involved in planning and prep that there was nothing I could do, so I am posting this public apology. When Connecting to SB i keep getting this "invalid password or callsign." i am using my Vatsim ID number and the callsign i have always used and the one that is stored in my computer. I have been off Vatsim and SB for several months. Vatsim websight still shows me as a member. I am using Windows98, FS2000, and SquakBox2.2.2.
