I want to login and I'm unable to do so. I have registered and have my ID & Password and rating Pilot/observer but it keeps asking me for a User Name and I put my correct name in as when I initially set up my data on Vatsim but it says that I have an incorrect user name & password. Why does it give me an ID & Password but then asks for a username & password when I want to login & it won't let me.What on earth I'm I doing wrong and NO, I'm not on the other VATsim Pilot info site where you have to have a different password setup. After I hopefully get this Username/password sorted out, what is the best software to download? I have highspeed internet connection and headphones with mic capability. There is a 'squawkbox 3' and something called FSInn. Also, I assume I have to purchase FSUIPC! Is that also correct?Thanks again,John Noullet

Hi,Its been a couple of years I was flying online seriously, and want to do it again.I remember in those days that the controllers became more and more sticked to the real world rules, to a point it wasnt fun anymore. Since controllers often do the same region every day, they know their procedures very well.We as pilots arent so know to each airport of course, just impossible.Now, as I read here, and on other places that controllers arent so polite anymore, and sometimes just rude.Is this all true? and if I start flying again online, is there a way to report them to someone if they misbehave? Hello,I want to fly the C-130 Hercules in VATSIM (Europe) and the Hercules is a US Air Force aircraft with some RS 582 written on the tail. How does the real US Air Force fly those planes when they are not on a mission or on a military flight? What is the callsign I should write to the flightplan? Recently, SB3 has begun to start up after seemingly random key presses. It's definitely not always the same combination of keys, since it happens at different phases of flight, but SB3 is definitely starting up on its own.Is there a hotkey seqence that is supposed to start SB3? I became hooked on VFR flying in MSFS with the introduction of Misty Fjords scenery and since then I have gone back to my roots, and started flying lower and slower with mostly GA aircraft. I have been reading on many of the forums lately, that many people are starting to fly VFR, due to the abundance of great scenery that is now available for MSFS. In the last week, I have also started to fly on Vatsim , which I really enjoy. One reason I haven't joined Vatsim in the past, was that there seemed to be no interest in VFR flying on the Vatsim network. I fly mostly in the Misty Fjords area of Alaska branching past Anchorage to the west and Bristish Columbia on the east using GA aircraft mostly. Would Vastim have any coverage in that area of the world for the mostly VFR pilot?

Hello all. I recently began using VATSIM and I must say that I really enjoy it. Have mostly been doing short VFR hops on busy servers to get a feel for things. Have not worked up the courage to try an IFR flight as I do not want to disrupt the flow or make anyone mad. Just thought of a question. Are there any servers that cater to newbies such as myself? Hello everyone,I'm sure this question has been addressed before, (sorry my search queries didn't anwser this) but can anyone tell me who gets my flight plan when I file it from an airport without any manned ATC stations?For example in the USA, I want to fly IFR from KLAX to KSEA. There is nobody manning any of the ATC positions in KZLA airspace, however KZSE Center is manned.So my question is... does KZSE Center get a copy of this flight plan and is expecting me?? Or am I just a "pop-up" when approaching their airspace? Ever since installing the latest version of Squawkbox, I've started having a problem where after a couple of hours, I'll lose *all* sounds from SB--voice, the clicks and dings on text chat, the noises when I tune a controller's frequency, everything. If I switch my sound output from "Wave" to "DirectSound", I get the sound back, but it's broken and choppy while I'm in the cockpit. Switching back to "Wave" loses the sound again.I'm using the built-in nVidia sound on my Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard. I fly for two virtual airlines, but offline. I have been thinking of flying online. However, I was told that a broadband connection is absolutely necessary to fly online. Is this correct? I have looked at the VATSIM and IVAO web sites and cannot find anything about a broadband requirement. I have a dial up 56K modem. Hello everyone!This question has been bothering me for some time, and I thought here would be a good place to ask it. Does anyone have any experience running Squwakbox or FSINN with two sound cards/USB headset so that the speakers carry the system and FS2004 sounds, and the ATC communications go through the second sound card/USB headset? Could you elaborate on how it is done?I'm more interested in the FSINN and two sound cards combination, but any help would be absoulutely wonderful!

Im kinda new to this online flying, but into it enough so that if there's no one manning a station, I often dont fly. Hi everyone,Just a quick basic question: You know when you are flying in the big events and i personaly would like to take some photos of the event (using the Print screen button on the keyboard) but it means that every time you have taken a photo you have to minimize FS (even worse if in Full Screen mode) and then open paint, click paste, and then save the pic. Does anyone know a program that somehow makes it so you dont have to minimize FS, or it just stores them all and then you save them later?Cheers,Nathanial
