I started using RC years ago (RC v2or 3) and rarely had problems. Now however, with RC4 and FSX along with the fastest PC I have ever assembled, things are going wrong far too often. Here are examples of what is happening:IFR- Honolulu to Kalulia, all ok until approaching the STAR location of "camp". Lots of vectors that led me to the south of the airport, turned me north to intecept the approach, and directed a descent that was directly into a mountain.IFR-Hilo to Kalulia, everything perfect except constant nagging when I was only 20 feet from correct altitude. Looked good until I was descended into a mountain south of the Airport. Waited as long as possible then turned…

I use RC4 and recently acquired Active Sky Evolution. The weather updates occur correctly. However I notice that RC4 ATIS readouts are not the same as what Active Sky is indicating. Even QNH values are different. And of course runway assignments given by RC4 are most times with the wind exactly behind you!Where does RC4 pick up it's weather from? Does it read from FS?At one point i thought that it may need to directly read it from ActiveSky which in my case is running in networked configuration on a distributed PC. But then all these years i didn't have Active Sky weather and RC4 would still pick weather from somewhere - had to be from FS.Will appreciate your help with th…

Hi everyone. I have looked through the forums about this problem and it seems to be common. At some larger (but default) airports like Heathrow, upon you contacting tower all taxiing aircraft will stop moving. Also upon landing at some airports, aircraft that are waiting for takeoff will never be cleared to do so even after you've left the runway and no other traffic is approaching; they'll just eventually be deleted automatically. More recently, I also noticed that some planes that, for example, had just taken off, will freeze in mid-air during their climb. I just got RC a few weeks ago. I'm using it with Ultimate Traffic. FSUIPC is 3.75, Interact with AI is on, AI cha…

I have reinstalled FSX along with FSUIPC version 4.60aI am able to start up Radar contact to the point where the first commands appear in red letters on the left side of the screen. When I select and response (such as line 1 or 2) I receive this error:Run-time error 75. Radar Contact.fsuipc.rcv4 codeHow do I fix this problem? Thanks,Jim

The is about the use of SID/DPs.Typically, I avoid putting the DP into the flight plan. For example on a flight today from Paris to Frankfurt I filed the following plan.LFPG CTL MMD LUXIE KIR EDDF.CTL, the first fix is about 41 miles from LFPG.Given that its above 30 miles, RC4 gave me all 3 options - alt restrictions, no alt restrictions and no dep procedure.I chose "no alt restrictions" because I was planning on flying a published DP to CTL (actually flying a DP that took me close to CTL, because no published DP actually takes you to CTL. In fact none of the published DPs take you to a common fix. They all go to different fixes so choosing a common one is hard). From the…

Hey JD,Will you have some some proposition for proper Natrack crossing? I know that full rule might be hard to adapt, but at least the option of registering to enter the trace within certain rules that apply? Just a thought, but it might be interesting as flying thru North Atlantic is quite interesting :)

Hi thereRecently re-installed all my flight sim and addons. However, for some reason, when I hand the controls over to the Co Pilot, he will not make any adjustments at all. Also notice, that even with CTRL-SHFT-L does not alter any of my radios, nor does the Co Pilot change any radios if I give him Comms. this is making RCV4 useless for me. Any Idea what could be wrong?CheersRob

As I am writing this I am on a flight form KRHP Andrews NC to Hot Springs VA KHSP. Oddly, when I started the flight, RC noted that the T/L at Andrews was FL120 (12000ft msl) while the T/L at Hot Springs was F/L180 (18000ft msl). What's up with is?? Has the rest of the U.S. seceded from North Carolina?

Hi guys,I have been using RC4 for about 6 months with no problems. I noticed lately that after saving during flight FSUIPC says that the flight has been saved, but in the saved flights folder there is no ".rcd" file - only the .fssave and .wx file is present. I have done a "reformat" in my laptop (due to numerous bugs) - the factory settings were restored and all data erased. Did another fresh installation of FSX, RC4 and other add-ons but this problem still persists.Any ideas on how to solve this?

RVR is the primary minimum for takeoff and landing when it is available. And it is unique to a partricular runway. Some large, busy airports may have RVR for two or more runways, and they may not necessarily be the same. If RVR is available, it is the only requirmemt that must be met; ceiling and prevailing visibility are not considered. But what exactly is RVR. It is not the same as the prevailing reported visibility, it is always higher. It is reported in feet or meters rather than miles of kiliometers. But what is RVR telling is exactly? Two great big ata-boys to the winner.Bob P

Hi all,Just a quick preliminary question before I head home to try things out.If I fly a crossing at the specified FL I'm often ordered away on a 90-degree-right vector as if I missed the restriction, only to be ordered back left to my original vector when I'm half way through the turn. I think the controller may be giving me a zero-mile 'delay' vector for a zero-foot altitude discrepancy. Tell me, is the pressure setting of 29.92" correct for a FL, and use local setting below the transition level? There are some things I'd like to experiment with before posting a full question (e. g. I've found flying 100 feet lower than ordered keeps the controller happy) but, reading th…

http://www.faa.gov/airports/runway_safety/...3wPreloader.swfSo, in summary- Controllers will be required to specifically issue crossing instructions for each runway the pilot's taxi route crosses (the same as most European countries do)- Includes inactive/closed runways- If crossing clearance not issued, pilot will hold short and contact TWR/GND for confirmation.Ilari

After siming for years, I finnally bought Radar Contact. I wasnt too interested in simulating ATC, so I never thought about getting it. I finally bought it yesterday and took my first flight this morning. Wow, what have I been missing! I busted my altitude a few times and got chewed out by the controller. My rating at the end was not too good, but it was spot on for what I did wrong. Im very impressed. this adds a whole new realizim element to simming that Ive been missing out on until now. Rob

RC4.3 FS9.1 WinXP FSUIPC LDS767Many of my perfect fligts have gone seriously wrong at the very last minute -- don't you hate when that happens? For instance, here's what happens sometimes when flying an IFR approach TNP.SEAVU2 STAR to KLAX ILS 24R/25L, also on BSR.BSR2 STAR approach to KSFO ILS 28R/28L: Right before the handoff to APPROACH, we are asked by CENTER to descend to 11000 or 12000, which we do with no problem. Then, we're asked to contact APPROACH and they assign a landing runway, no problem. APPROACH will ask us to descend to 9,000, sometime a little lower -- OK, fine. Here's the problem: we are kept high at between 6000 to 9000 feet until we're very very clos…

1. Would it be possible to add the ability to ask the controller for the altimeter. I know we can go off-channel for weather but A) that isn't always the same as the controller uses and :( it's a lot to listen to when all I want is the altimeter. I've had several cases where the altimter changes drastically and I show I'm OK on altitude but he's screaming I'm not. When he finally gives me the altimeter it's a change of 500 feet or more. This also happens when resuming a flight. For some reason the altimiter doesn't match his and he's upset. This function should be accessible from about any phase - departure, enroute, approach.2. Is there a way to change how long t…

Having installed RC4 my trouble free FS2004 installation has begun freezing. This problem most often occurs when I use Skydecks 737-800 package. Shortly after take-off the picture freezes and sound gradually fades to a minimum (still some sound). The Flight Sim is still running even though the image on my monitor is frozen. I can hear the usual alarms, warnings etc. indicating I am making a dog's dinner of my flight but I am simply unable to make register any input. Sometimes I can bring the program back to life by "Alt+Return" ( changing to window mode) but it's always to late to redeem the flight. My setup is a DELL Intel i7 860 based system with 6GB RAm and and an nV…

Hi Folks:I used RCV3 for years with FS2002 and when I switched to a new PC and installed FS9 I never got around to installing RC. Now I understand RCV3 will not work with FS9 anyway. Supposedly I need V3.1. Could someone please tell me what I would need to do to get RC to work with FS9? I have the original RCV3 CD.Thanks for any help!Airbus

Hi everyone, This actually is not an RC problem but I thought I would post the question here first. I've been using RC4.3 with AS6.5 and noticing that wind gusts are not reported via ATIS (only the average wind is reported). I thought it was an AS problem at first, but after trying to set the weather to have gusts manually in FS, RC still did not report correctly. So I tried the default ATC which also did not report the wind correctly. So, the only thing I can think of is that FSUIPC is somehow suppressing the wind gusts although I have all the wind smoothing features off. Before I try the FSUIPC forum can someone tell me what settings they have for FSUIPC so I can try …

I want RC to allow me to descend from cruise "at pilots discretion" so that I can use the FMC VPTH to control the descent. As it stands right now, RC will call for me to descend about 50 miles prior to my computer calculated TOD, meaning that instead of descending at idle power like in the real world, I have to basically set a V/S and "drag it in" so to speak. Is there anyway to delay descent until it's at my discretion?
