I contacted Doug Thompson - co-author of Radar Contact v4 - and he agreed to the installation and decryption files being made available on AvSim. There are two separate zip files required to complete an installation. Make sure you download both. The installation instructions are in Part 2. This frees me from providing links to those requesting the program. I’m grateful to Doug for agreeing to this. After 20 years it remains a quality ATC program. It might be a day or so before they’re available. Hopefully I’ve made the installation notes clear. Let me know if you have a problem. They’re located in Miscellaneous Files.

All, Be aware the links in John Dekker's pinned post to the RC4 setup file and key generator no longer work. You'll get a prompt to login to an Apple account which I suspect is John's own. Emails to his various accounts have been bounced and one to his personal account has not been answered. If you require these files let me know. We can't host them on AvSim without John's or Doug's permission. I will give those needing them a link. You're advised to secure your own downloads.

Having discovered there are many wrong Transition Altitude entries in the m4.csv I have uploaded a new version. You can download from the Miscellaneous Files section in the AvSim LIbrary. Filename is Radar Contact v4.3 updated Transition Altitude file. Please refer to the included readme for installation instructions.

For folks that may be new to Radar Contact, especially following its release as freeware in January 2019, there is a really good set of enhanced voice files for Radar Contact here in the AVSIM library. Those of us who have been long-time users of the program are well-acquainted with these much-improved audio files. A programmer in Atlanta met an Air Traffic controller in Memphis and we created a company called JDTLLC. Hi all, I just came upon a situation that I don't know if there's a way around. I use P3D. I did the necessary things to make RC4 work with it, however there's one problem--RC4 looks for a flightplan name.flt file when attempting to load an RCD file. Is it a case of simply renaming the FXML that P3D creates to FLT and I should be good? The WX file is there... Thanks.

One of the frustrating parts of flying with other Ai aircraft in FSX / P3D using Radar Contact is occasionally an Ai will line up for departure on your landing runway. RC4 has never dealt with this in a satisfactory way. The result is you being instructed to go-around. Some comply, others ignore and land anyway resulting in the 'loss' of their licence. There is a simple solution but you require a registered version of FSUIPC. Flying into ORBX/Turbulent's KGPI (formerly KFCA) reminded me of something worth mention--how to get RC4 to recognize airports added to the sim or whose ICAO identifiers have changed since the database files were first created back around 2006. Running Pete Dowson's Makerwys utility updates most of the database files RC4 uses, but in the case where an airport ICAO ID has changed or been added, you have to also manually go in and make a change or addition to the m4.csv file that defines the MSA (min safe altitude) base and transition altitude. In the case of Glacier Park Intl, the ICAO was changed from KFCA to KGPI, and running Makerwys updates the airport (a4.cs…

This error message usually means you are missing a particular system file that RC needs to runs. Show Multiline Window should be ON if you want RC's window on the FS screen, OFF if you are using ShowText instead (whether on the same or a WideFS networked PC). This is really the only one related to RC's menus and operates the window which replaces the old defunct AdvDisplay module.Suppress Single line is only related to single line messages, not just from RC, some quite important, and should normally be left enabled. Hello everyone! How do you display RC4 ATC commands and hotkeys while using P3Dv5? Reason: PF3 uses the FSUIPC ADV display, but it only works until P3Dv4. I never could make it work in V5, and the popup window that PF3 offers as a workaround interferes with Lossless Scaling. If I understand correctly, RC4 also uses this ADV Display for P3Dv4 and older sims.

Installed a back-up, all ok, except RC, did not work. D/l the files from AVSIM and start a new install acc Ray´s Installation Instruction But when I reach Pos 12. I do not get a new Key. May I ask on this way for a new key? Tks, Peter

If this question has already been answered, just point me to the answer and I'll take it from there. I downloaded the Key Generator that is now available due to the well deserved "retirement" of the folks involved with RC4 V3. I purchased the app many many moons ago, but needed a new key because of a system crash issue. Got the information about the cloud version of Radar Contact now being freely available for downloading along with the key generator. No instructions for key generation, however. So that's what I need to know. How do I generate and use the resulting key? Thanks for any direction you can provide. Ken in Kansas

You submit a flight plan which includes a departure runway, when setting up RC, but when you listen to ATIS before asking for clearance, it might tell you the active runway is in the opposite direction from that referenced in your flight plan. Q: How, once I have asked for clearance, can I get RC to give taxi instructions to the active runway, as opposed to that which is referenced in my flight plan?

I just recently started using my RCv4.3 again after many years away from it (Since my FSX days) with P3D 5.31 and all I can say is WOW!! It's So much more realistic and immersing than the FS Hud ATC I had been using. I missed the stern critiques at the end of flight 🙂 I just noticed @Ray Proudfoot is one of the voices featured as a controller! Nice! I'm very impressed, Ray! My question is: Are there any freeware sources of additional female PILOT voices? I don't particularly like being represented by a MALE voice in ATC interactions. A few days ago I had a drive crash. After replacing all my files, incl RC43, I mad a few test flights today. Everything goes well, except RC43 which was setup acc Ray´s excellent tutorial. (before the crash it was working very well, as usual) First A320 flight positioned at the gate, prepared RC with flightplan, flight number and so on. Back into the cockpit, pushed "Start RC" and plop, P3Dv4.5 and RC both gone, Crash to the desktop. No chance to keep both alive. MakeRwys 4.91 as well as LorbySceneryExport and FSUIPC 6.2.2 (Registered copy) all installed Need help,please Peter

Hi all, I d/l the 2 Rc43 files from AVSIM, followed the readme file and everything went well. Except when I start RC43 for the first time: I got a screen which says that my RC43 is unregister and I have to fillout that form and sent to"[email protected] to receive a key. Qustion: Is this procedure still valid? If not, from where do I get that key? Peter

I really don't know what has changed or gone wrong. On the last two or three flights I have been continuously chastised for not being at the correct flight level. Today according to the altimeter (PMDG 744) set to STD I was correct at 37000 FL370. RC4 keeps telling me that I am not. If I reduce my altitude by 300Feet then RC4 is happy. This hasn't happened before and I can't think of anything that has changed. Funny thing is that my map program is reading the figures the same as RC4 and showing a lower altitude. My guess is that the error is with PMDG somehow.

Hi,What is the procedure of adding callsigns.I read here couple of threads and there si no place where you can download callsigns? If so, may you add the callsign for norwegian which frequently flies within Europe?I believe the callsign is: Norwegian, on the strip NAX.Sincerly

OK. I fire up RC, load a plan and click the Controller Info button. This is an IFR flight. There is a green column that shows the Center frequency. Wondering where RC gets the center frequency number from? I can find the airports info in the F4 file and change those frequencies but cannot find the center frequency to change it. Thanks Jim CYWG

When I clicked on the "Rebuild Scenery DB" button in RC4.3.3845, I specified my P3D 5.31 directory and the message returned was "Failed to make Runways CSV files!" Do I need an updated copy of makerwys.exe and if so, where can I find it? I ran makerwys.exe directly myself and the same error message appeared, validating the definition of insanity. Thanks!

I’m trying to reinstall the excellent RC4 on my new system. I have the product installed and the key generator but how do I get a proper key generated that will activate the program?

Does RC have a list of all callsigns (airlines) that can be copied or printed? Peter
