I recently had a crash due to a corrupted Windows registry and it has been suggested that I should post this as it may help others. As a result, I had to re-install P3d V5.3 and most of my ancillary programs, including Radar Contact. I got my basic Flight sim up and going quite quickly but RC presented a problem. Although the program ran, it did nothing, wouldn't connect to P3D and the key pushes did nothing. The solutions (at least for me). change the key presses and see if it works. if not, do not load anything else with P3D, try RC4 then and see if it works. If not change the key settings again. I am looking for guidance on installing RCv4 on my new build computer. I remember when I installed it long ago on my old computer that was running p3d v4.5 there were some work arounds in order to get RCv4 to work correctly. I have scoured the internet and have found some guidance but nothing helpful yet. A lot of mentions of taking .DLL files from the previous installation but no mention as to specifically which ones. I am currently getting an error during installation, Runtime error 713 saying that I need MSSTDFMT.DLL to be installed on my machine. There is also mention in a forum that I need to register that .DLL file with instructions which I have tried but with no…

After recovering from a Computer crash, I have got everything working again. However, and it's a big however, RC4 is having repeated sound problems, in that it doesn't respond to commands. I have found out, by trial and error, that the cause is most likely the OCX files that have to be registered. In particular the Richtx32.ocx file. If I register it before starting P3D/RC4 everything works, but next time RC4 will not work. It seems that the file is un-registering itself, if that is possible. This is way beyond my knowledge. After a successful re-install following a computer crash, everything works except that when I request the initial weather briefing, nothing happens. If I continue to the initial clearance, all is fine. What have I forgotten? Ian

To all, Been using Radar Contact from back when Moby Dick was a minnow and still use it with generally no problems. However RCV4 doesn't seem to recognize the codes that I enter into the CS B-52 transponder. I have verified that the codes are being properly entered; so I need to know if there is a workaround for this. The RCV4 ATC of course continually tells me to enter the code (after I've done my best to enter it ~:) Any tips or suggested fixes for this dilemma will be very welcome. Best to all, Ken Boardman

Hello - I am receiving a run time error 9 message. Underneath that it says RadarContact.fsuipc.rcv4code. I could not find other threads on this one so I appreciate your suggestions. I have an older version of FSUIPC version 2.05 could that be the culprit?

Hi All Not sure if I should post this here or the FSUIPC forum... Anyway, recently returned to simming using P3D v4.5. Flying the QW787 about 10mins or so into the flight RC freezes and I get the following pop up from RC "fsuipc_wait can't get D008 to change from 7520501 always 7520501" Any ideas? Had to replace HD and reinstall everything. Have FSUIPC ver. 6.1.9. installed in the addon section of P3D and in the P3D modules section. No change. I can load a plan but in looking into the Controller info, at one airport no boxes for frequency are checked. I can check them off and frequencies appear. Reinstall RC did the make runways thing.with LORBY in the same P3d main directory. After I start RC, the little window appears in P3D. I hit 2 or 3 on the keyboard for say weather from FSS and the following error appears: Runtime error 75 RadarContact.fsuipc.rcv4code. Set the FLT/WX path to documents/prepar3D v4 files. W10; P3Dv5.3 + HF2; FSUIPCv6; ASP3D; 10 x GF modules; 3 screens; RC4 Two days ago all was fully functional. Today, everything except RC is functioning. P3D loaded, flight plan loaded, aircraft selected etc, etc, no 'audible' sound from RC4 ~~~ can barely hear RC4 talking to me ~~~ full sound from aircraft. Attempted a full P3D re-boot ~~~ when shut down can still barely hear RC4 giving instructions! Shut down PC and rebooted ~~~ still no 'audible' sound from RC4!!! All suggestions welcome... Ken 😉

Hi, today I had an unpleasant experience. The ATC gave me instructions to descend to FL 110 and follow a specific heading. But after a while I realized that I am getting further away from the airport so I reported low fuel to get new instructions. Then I was cleared to fly direct to LICJ. After some time the ATC forgot about me again so I requested a visual approach so I could vector myself to the VOR approach 07 at LICJ. I was still way too high so I totally messed up my approach. Since I was flying a 737-200 I was relying on ATC instructions... I have never had any similar problem before (I already did 13 flights with RC4 without any issue like that) …

I saw DeltaAir's topic from 2020; was going to reply there, but saw Ray's message to start a new post, so here goes. RCv4 says I should point to the FSX.exe file, which I don't/didn't have. I tried two strategies: 1) saved copy of P3Dv4.exe as fsx.exe; RCv4 indicated that the FSUIPC version isn't compatible with that version of fsx.exe... and 2) created a .txt file, renamed it fsx.exe; RCv4 said it couldn't retrieve version information from it. I'll return to searching for answers within this forum, but, I wanted to get something going in the meantime. Thanks. Scott

New PC build fresh install Windows 10, P3d v4, MSSTDFMT. DLL and FSUIPC v6 installed and registered. Problems getting Radar Contact to work . Get Error codes at different phases. Hi Ray, I have no problems or issues. I just wanted to say hi as it has been quite some time since we worked together to solve my last issue with Radar Contact - the one that wasn't really a Radar Contact problem, but another piece of software which was at fault - the "Voice Activated Commands" gremlin, back in Feb. 2020 (pre-pandemic). Hi, I've been using Radar Contact for many years without any issues. However, I just tried to run it and after the usual "Do you want to allow this app .... " message nothing happens. There's no evidence that the program has started to run. May I ask if anyone else has had this problem and if so, how did you fix it? Best regards, Peter Keenan

Hi, I've noticed I encounter 2 kind of issues with ILS approaches - Radar contact does not recognize an ILS frequency although it does exist in the scenery and FMS database. For example LMML v2 by Justsim runway 31 ILS frequency does not appear in the RC drop down menu but when setting up per FMC data an ILS does exist and is functional. I'm using & running latest Makerunways version Radar contact does recognize an ILS frequency but it does not function in the sim (G/S & LOC don't come alive) - an example I can remember is one of the two runways in KEWR by DD (22L or 22R, I don't remember). Have now flown six short (1 hr) and 3 long (5 to 6 hrs ) flights using RTC in the Cessna 421 and I Like it except, today filed a lengthy flt plan, recvd clearance, T/O, fly R/W hdg and over to Departure.who acknowledged Radar Contact and cleared me to FL150. I had expected a left turn shortly after T/O but I never heard from Departure again. After 15 minutes I canceled IFR and received acknowledgement.

Hi Ray, .I purchased the PMDG 777 plus expansion packs about a week or so ago and i have had nothing but issues with the PMDG 777 and Radar Contact.I know that you need to have the VHF and mic activated for it to work from previous versions of the 777. First flight was Munich to Heathrow and RC abandoned me over Switerland i was still in contact with ATC from there upon landing at Healthrow,but was not passed on to other ATC.I then did the same flight in the PMDG 737NGXu,same route no issues for the whole flight. Hello, I just downloaded Radar Contact 4 (RC4) for FSX Steam, installed it with no problem and it is working in FSX. My only question is that I am using Simbrief.com to generate flight plans, and downloading the flight plan as the FSX/P3D version. Once I depart the airport, I noticed that RC4 does not give me any headings in which to fly. When I used RC4 with the FSX flight plans, I was provided detailed altitude and heading directions by the ATC. I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong when I create the flight plan with simbrief, but i would like to have the ATC go back to providing detailed heading information. Hi all, Would appreciate some assistance with the above. I have just got a shiny new PC and am transferring all things FS to it. I have used RC4 ever since it came out and managed to get it working with P3Dv4.5 after sorting out the code 75 error with missing DLL's etc. I decided to get P3Dv5 for the new PC but RC4 won't install. When asked the first couple of times I point the installer at the P3dv5 directory and it continues but then looks for fsx.exe and asks me where it is.
