Hello, I have been looking for the location of the RC4 Radar Contact key definitions hoping to print that page for quick reference during flight. Is this possible and if so where would I find this file?

On two extremely long overnight flights (14 hours), I have come across the situation where RC4 stops working after having been left to do its thing overnight. I leave the sim running and in the morning pick up where I left off for the approach and landing. (RC4 pauses as it should and then I un-pause and continue). This morning I had a CTD as my memory had run out (7.1 of 7.1, have now reduced settings a bit). Prior to that I got a clearance to descend and cross 40 m from ***, but after that nothing. My question is, is RC4 also affected by memory loss, shortage, or whatever you want to call it? If not, why would RC4 suddenly stop issuing instructions …

Is it possible to be VFR and "pop up", asking to file IFR? Or must one start on the ground with a flight plan ? Tnx, Ed

Hello! I am running Radar Contact on FS9. I am using MakeRwys V4.7 (set to run as administrator, along with radar contact) and FSUIPC 3.999. My issue is that when I run Radar Contact and MakeRunwys to update the database , it doesn't update the runways for new scenery. It creates a new a4.csv and r4.csv, but the runways listed are the same as default as far as I can tell. For example, I downloaded a UAAA (Almaty) scenery with the new runways (which appear in the map and menu of fs9), but not in Radar Contact's database. This is the same issue I'm having with FSDT O'Hare. I appreciate any help in solving this issue!

I am using RC V4.3 and P3D v5.2 and after many years of successfully using RC I am now occasionally losing the functionality of Menu Selection 1 and Menu Selection 2. Other Menu Selections are unaffected. This occurs some time after departure and before contacting Approach and remains until RC is restarted for a new flight. To make the problem even more intractable it is only intermittent with no apparent relation to the aircraft or the location. I have tried changing the keyboard definitions and even reinstalling RC4 but to no avail. P3Dv5.2 + HF1 ~~~ Since updating from 5.1 to 5.2 I have been receiving admonishments (good word!) from ATC about missing some 'crossing point' which I did not receive in the first place - simply a "descend to *** " instruction! Since updating 5.2 with the HotFix-1 I am now and also being chewed for not maintaining my flight levels!!! The sim shows (with LittleNavMap) the aircxraft position and the tag indicating altitude is pretty much spot-on and certainly within about 10-feet (my setting in RC4 is for 200-feet +/-). I'm glad to say that I have RC4 working and interacting with FSX. Once I got past the teething stage, I encountered a few questions: 1. I think I missed a config step, but I can't find it in the manual. I'm hearing FSX ATC talking over the RC4 ATC. I first noticed this when getting ATIS. Then I noticed it on Center frequencies. I'd hear ATC talking to names that RC4 doesn't seem to support, like "Bombardier." Can anybody tell me the step I missed? 2. If I need to save a flight and shut down the computer, how do I resume things to include RC4 ATC? Thanks, Ed

Fresh install of FSX on Win10. Latest Radar Contact. Latest FSUIPC. As soon as I ask for WxBrf (ATIS) I get a runtime error 75 from Radar Contact. RadarContact.fsuipc.rcv4code. No results searching for either the runtime error or the rcv4code strings here. Any ideas? Thanks, Ed

Hello, I am new to this forum, even though being a flight simmer for around 30 years. Recently I ran into Radar Contact 4 and thought to try it out as I always was unhappy with FS2004 build in ATC. The developers madee it available free of charge - my highest respect for this move. Thank you !!! But now I am really in trouble, because I am unable to run RC4. I have installed it with anti-virus disabled and started the installer with administrator rights. Then I restistered RC4 and finished the DB process, After starting FS2004 I started RC4 with adminstrator rights and have instantly an error for "comdlg32.ocx . . ." even though I have registered this file already i…

Greetings. I recently downloaded Radar Contact 4 and the Key Generator. I copy and pasted my Product ID into the generator and generated a key for myself. I proceed to copy and paste the key into the registration field. After clicking the button, the program freezes and then it crashes itself. How do I fix this?

Still enjoying RC after all these years. It works OK on P3Dv5, but I get a "reduce speed to 250 kts" message while I'm above 10000. I hear the error when climbing pass 10000 but only one time. Besides running MakeRunways, is there anything else I needed to do to use RC with P3Dv5? David

Good morning, Ray... I installed ORBX Cairns airport this morning - rebooted the system then ran RC and attempted to run the database update... Each time I have tried this all I see is a window telling me that 1: RC failed to make all of the data files! and 2: RC failed to make FStarRC RWS file! I am running FSUIPC6.1 with MakeRunways 4.91. Hello, I have a question regarding unusual AI behavior. I am also using AI Separation, but only noticed this after using RC4. Sometimes (typically after I land), I noticed that AI flying the same approach as me after me will not land, and will instead go around, even when the runway is seemingly clear. The next plane on approach will then come close to the runway before going around last minute, and the cycle continues forever. I think it might have something to do with AI landing clearance? Maybe some AI are cleared to land, then moved out of the way by AI separation or RC4 on final, and so no other planes can land until the plane that was cleared lands. I…

Hello Ray I installed the RC succesfuly and rebuilt the DB but when I start the RC the start button is not active any idea how to fix this? what I have done so far I reinstall the FSUIPC, but still the same result.

Please see screen cap of the error at the link below. I have not seen this before over my many years of RCV4 usage. I've seen it twice in past three days and afterwards RCV4 stops responding. Has anyone else experienced this who can explain what it means or how to avoid the problem ? I use RCV4 via WideFS with FSX and Win 7-64. Hello from breezy Mid-Wales. Many years ago I had a problem with RC not picking up a short runway at my departure airfield. In my memory there's a hint of something about modifying a parameter or adding a switch, possibly to makerwys or maybe in one of the csv files, in order to allow shorter runways down to 1000' or so into RC's database but I can't find it in the suspect thread (or in my memory). https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/374050-airfield-doesnt-show-in-rc-plan/ Am I only imagining that there was such a simple solution? Sitting here wondering what to do next and there is something I have never bothered about but will ask now. In MY RC4, when I have loaded the flight plan, I go to the Controller info screen to check the info is correct etc. but ALWAYS the runway selected by RC4 is shown as the gate number. For instance, yesterday's flight from EGLL is leaving from Gate 27L. After donkey's years of using RC, am I doing something wrong all this time? Is it getting this from the flight plan somehow? Ian

Hello, making some progress on my quest. After reading numerous threads on RC4 installations, I got her installed OK for P3D 5.1 I will try the MCE demo, before purchasing. It looks like it will do what I need it to do. That is, interact with RC4 via voice in VR. I don't want any screens, can't see them in VR anyway. Hence can't select button 1,2 etc, or pages. Can I have full RC4 interaction with MCE in VR. Some posted here says it works great, but unfortunately not too much setup info. Hoping someone can clarify, and possibly go through the "flow" they use when flying with MCE,RC4 andVR in P3D 5.1 I'm a realworld pilot, so very familiar with…

Hi all, This might be a blast from the past! Does anyone know of a way to get a version of Radar Contact that works with FS2000? There's nothing obvious in the Avsim library. Presumably that's because it was originally payware? While RC4.3 has been made freeware, does anyone know about the status of previous versions? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, First of all Happy New Year. I recently reinstalled both FSX and RC4 on my PC. FSX is on a SSD and RC4 is installed on my HD in C/Radar Contact with the Meatwater voice mods. What's happening is the following. RC launches with no problem but then after a bit it stops responding, no error messages or anything, when I go to the taskbar the icon is present but not active. Now originally when I reinstalled it to Program Files I had a lot of issues, it was suggested I copy it to the C drive. That worked for a while but now I have the above mentioned issue. Gidday, I'm curious if anyone has had a crack at getting Radar Contact to interface with MSFS 2020. I have FSUIPC7 and understand from Pete Dowson that "Radar Contact uses facilities in FSUIPC to display menus on screen in the Sim. Unfortunately these are not working properly yet in MSFS -- the facilities provided by MSFS are faulty and we are awaiting a fix from Asobo. The menus may display okay, but they won't remove and may accumulate (lots on top of each other)." Assuming Asobo gets this fixed what would be the steps to get Radar Contact setup? Thanks, Harry

Hi all, since a couple of flights I have that problem: RC give me order to descent, next order is to cross xxx at xxxx feet.Then during descent, before I´m handed over to approach, RC give me a heading away from my destination airport. In the flight right now I'm 120nm away from dest airport with the heading he give to me. This happens since 6 flights. I have nothing changed RC itself is still working with all other flights, but have completely forgotten me Any tips?? Peter

I suddenly see the callsign for Aeromexico is missing from my RC installation. I've been using it for my last 10 flights, but now I can't see it listed. Any suggestions on how to recover this?
