I think this was answered once but can't locate the thread because it was part of something else. Anyway, where does RC get its frequency and airport info from as well as the aircraft themselves. Does it not read from the AFCAD info or does it have its own self contained database. And as for the aircraft callsigns. How does it read those? Seems like it would have to read the info from the aircraft.cfg ? no, yes? Just curiousity questions.

While sitting at FAJS, an incoming AI was announced as 'Air Force One'. That was odd, because I don't have Air Force One scheduled to land there. What showed up was a Pan Am 744!I checked my aircraft.cfg to make sure I had to correct airlines listed in the atc_airline and they are all correct. Currently I have Air Force One scheduled only on 1 flight and it's nowhere near Africa. Where does RC gets it's callsigns from?It's probably an error in something I've done, but I can't find it.Can you help?

JD,I tried upgrading from 4.01 to 4.2 in prep for 4.3 for FSX.Get error message that FS is not installed.It is(C drive FS9).RC 4.01 is on my G drive.I ran makerunways.exe and copied the r4.csv file to data as instructed.I am getting the same error message about FS not installed.I am not using anything different then before.Thanks,Ron

I notice that sometimes RC gives an AI aircraft clearance to land AFTER it's already landed! It will also clear me to enter the runway and line up when another AI is less than 3 miles from touchdown. Is this just one of things that needs to be worked on or is it just what it is?

Hey guys. I am using RC4 with latest patch/update for FS9.My problem occurs right before I am usually told to contact approach. I have been told by center to descend and maintain xxxxx in 30 miles or less. I descend at a reasonable rate (1500fpm), and sometimes I am told to contact approach. My problem is that sometimes I am never told to contact approach. I am flying towards my destination, say heading 360 and on course - just descending as told. The center controller will then adivse my turn to 270, or 090. Basically telling my to turn 90*. I thought I was getting this instruction because I did not make my altitude. I seem to having problems updating my software with the downloads.... After updating should my version number be 4.3xxx, or 4.03xxx?My CD is just marked V4. Even after apparently successfully installing the 4.1 download, i then get two separate versions of the software! After that, 4.2 cannot find the update path.Guess i must be doing something wrong, but i keep trying and keep re-reading here.

JD,You mentioned that an earlier problem with FSUIPC (landing gear up/missed approach) caused a hold up in the RC4.3 release date. You had to wait for that to be fixed first.What is the relationship between MSFSX, FSUIPC version 4x, Radar Contact 4.3 and a missed approach procedure that caused a problem RC4.3?

Hi,I built a FP using FSBuild from VAPO to VABB.I was flying Cessna 172SPDistance between VABB and VAPO is approx 66nm.I had set the Cruise Alt of 8000 ft.The MSA for this route was approx 4500 ft.But RC never ever cleared me to 8000 ft and asked me to maintain 3000 ft.After some time it asked me to come down to 2400 ft.But this has always resulted in collision with the terrain(night flying).I always requested for higher altitudes but it always said that it had my request and never cleared me.Doesn't RC recognize the terrain and clear appropriately? So far, everytime I fly the 737-900, ATC says after a while that I'm off course. When I check everything including the FS Flight Map, it shows that I am on course. Is it just the aircraft or am I doing something horribly wrong?Also, I've been flying out of London Heathrow and Gatwick lately and constantly have icing problems during my climb out. Is there anyway to tell ATC that I'm having trouble with my guages tempararely or just trouble in general due to icing? I also lost my guages on decent into JFK once. I flew into KSAN (San Diego Intl.) tonight and RC told me to expect vectors to Rwy 27 which has a LOC approach. Sometimes after being told to climb to a higher FL, the RC4 controller has a short fuse. If I don't start climbing right away, I get a 'your assigned altitude is..blah blah' warning. Hey! Give me a chance. It takes several seconds to click on the altitude counter and another few to get the VSR counter right. Then a few seconds to build up power to begin the climb.EytanLLHA

Whilst I entirely understand that you are rightly concentrating your efforts on he next version of RC, I would still like to record my own voice as Captain.As I am now using two payware aircraft with Captains' voices, RC4 and FSPassengers, it's all beginning to sound a bit - well - odd, with so many different people in the cockpit!Is there any way that I could do this without bothering you?All I would need is a list of the (how many?) hundreds of files, and the right software to record and edit the wavs.Is this possible, and if so, what software would I need?

I have AI aircraft that change over to the frequency 199.990 and when this happens they then maintain the altitude they were at, eg A070 when they should be climbing up into the flight levels.As well as this, they drop speed to well below what they should be doing, AND maintain there current heading sometimes flying upwards of 40nm off track.They then get the instruction to resume own navigation. Then the frequency jumps back to the frequency they should be on and they resume normal flight, re. nav, speed and altitude. What is it that you do when people request a registration key? They send a name and a number. You do send a key in return. Is there any manual intervention that is required? Why not setup something like the F1 wrapper? What is the need for a person inbetween?Manny

Hello, I'm trying to upgrade to v 4.2. I followed the instructions and made sure i had the previous updates installed. I installed the 4.2 update, requested a new registration key,recieved it, and went through the process to renew the registration. When I do that it doesn't register the software. Any suggestions?
