It's almost one year I'm enjoying RC4 and so far it's really a must for me on each flight. I'm getting this minor annoyance when requesting to leave freq to listen the arrival ATIS (I do that at 60NM from destination, being helped by a fix arc on the CRTs), I get permission, I hear the ATIS, come back to frequency and then, without further press of the "req lv freq for Wx", it again asks permission to leave the frequency and I again listen to the ATIS.I've monitored this behaviour and it happens always, either if I've the comms or Otto has the comm.Just a minor annoyance, nothing to be worried about. I've noticed that RC4 assigns en route altitudes backwards, in reference to odd/even based on east/west (respectively), and ignores flight-planned altitudes which are correct.Is there a way to change this so that RC4 will properly assign altitudes?Example: I'm flying eastbound, with FL230 in the loaded flightplan. RC4 will send me to FL240, and I have to manually request "lower" to get to a correct altitude.Minor annoyance, but certainly an oversight that may be easy to correct -- hence, my question.Thanks!

Am having problems when told to go around. I was approaching Newcastle and cleared to land RW07, then at last minute told "Go Around". I was then told to fly a heading 070, set heading to 070 but all I get is ATC "I say again fly heading" 070. He then told me to fly 115 same thing happens, "I say again fly heading 115". I was then told fly heading 190, set heading to 190, same thing, "I say again fly heading 190". In the end have to exit RC4. This has happened every time I get a go around, I have had two this week. One Blackpool RW28 and one at Newcastle RW07. Has anybody any idea whats wrong.Am using FS9, FSNav4.7, Active Sky V6, RC4 plus the updates. FSPassengers.All h…

Have installed RCV4.2 (6 times now) and it won't start from the Start menu or by double-clicking the .exe file directly.It seems to try to start momentarily and stops..then nothing No error message.I am using XP Home SP2. As an experiment I installed it on my old computer running Win 98 and I had no problem starting the program.A previous poster #20026 - May 30th 2006, mark667 had the same problem exactly. It is almost as if SP2's Data Execution Prevention is operating but I have turned this off. No difference.Hoping someone has some ideas as I am very frustrated.Regards Ken

I have been flying ex LCLK for the past week and observed the following (FS9, AFCAD installed): LCLK has one runway, 04/22. 22 has an ILS, 04 doesn't. RC4 always assigns RWY 22, even though winds for the past few days (via AS6) have been 030-050 at 6 to 18 knots. AI Traffic lands at 04 though. I have very little AI traffic installed. At around 600 ft, RC4 instructs me to go around, every time, even though the runway is clear. I am a bit stumped, this is the first time I come across such a situation. How do I locate the problem? Will a log help?

I'm having a mental block on this. Somewhere, several months ago now, I read a post (I believe it was on this forum)on how to change millibars to hectopascals in Fs9. I scraped together the bucks for RC. Hopefully, the FSX patch will be out about the time I receive it. I have FSX running OK but went ahead and ordered another GIG of RAM anyway. That will give me two. HiCould some one shed some light on the following please.I planned a flight from EGLL to EGCC.About 40nm away from EGCC the controller asked me to head towards bearing 330,which I did immediately.Than for some strange reason it kept on repeating that I need to set my heading to 330-this went for about 10 minutes with at least 6-7mesages from contoller to change heading.All the time I had the correct 330 dialed in.looking forword to your commentsQas

Am I correct in guessing that RC4 does not care anything about mountains?I did a flight from SAEZ-SCEL and during the decent into SCEL, RC4 kept telling me to decend to flight level 12000ft. Problem was, the mountains around me were 15-16000ft high! The lower I went, the bigger those monuntains looked. lol.I finally had to disregard RC4 and by looking out the windows and using the moving map with FS Navigator, I managed to feel my way through the mountains, to make a beautiful approach and landing. Greetings, I orginally purchased RC when version 2 was released. And while I loved the program, got involved with Vatsim and it kinda faded off into oblivion. ( Like alot of other good programs ) Anyway, I plan on purchasing RC for FSX. Once again, MS has dropped the ball when it comes to ATC. Also, I am a RWP and to try and fly online with children busting the pattern, is totally unacceptable IMHO. My question is about CPU and graphics card load. Hi, after playing around with FSX for nearly two weeks and getting very angry about what microsoft promised and what they finally issued, I decided to return to FS9 and fly with all the addons which I posses and which worked very well.But what a great disaster: Radar Contact will not act properly. All flight long from EDDK to LBSF all controllers and chatter pilots read the tail numbers of the AI aircrafts instead of the callsigns. I did about 10 different flights to different destinations - always the same - tail numbers instead of callsigns. Well, having finished a number of flights with RC4, here's my take:Pros:1. pretty good IFR procedures all the way from clrnc to approach; I did notice a few strange things, like being clrd to land by tower on an ILS approach before I had even reached the IAP and flown outbound.2. nice to be able to use on a WideFS machine, and therefore be able to feed the ATC thru headphones; adds to ambiance3. Nice to be able to select any runway for T/O and landing4. Nice to have diversion for turb, Wx, emergencies, etc5. HiAll has been well for some time. But i was flying along from KJFK to KSAX when i decided to ask for 'direct to Chk point' I pressed '9' to go to next page & got the usual options but when i pressed '1' for the direct to chk point, a green bar similar to the FS9 flying tips bar appeared with 'next 9, main 0, etc (the same dialogue which normally appears in the fsuip box).Also when this green strip appears the fsuip box says 'standby'but it seems to hang there. Why does RC4 keep moaning to me about not being on the airway when I am according to the PDMG 737-800 FMC with airac0610 data. How do I fix that.While I am in the #### mode. Tonight was doing a 1:30 hour flight in total IMC and undr RC4 control the whole way. So here I am being cleared to land and 2.5nm final when my tcas goes bananas and I get a fly down command. Next moment a A320 zooms overhead and proceed down the glideslope and in the process hitting me and ending my flight.Now AI control is switched on in RC4 and this guy never talked to him ever. Why will this happen?!?!?

I am in the process of adding the business class airline EOS to FS9. Importing the airline is not a problem, in fact that has been done already. I need to add the callsign "New Dawn" to RC4. I have found the file for editvoicepack. The way I understand it is that editvoicepack does not install it in a way that RC4 will understand?Is it possible to add it to RC4? Is there a conversion program that will convert from the editvoicepack format into RC4?Thanks in advance.

While I still have FS9 installed, I want RC for FSX. If I order RC now and then wait for the "fix" for FSX, will the fix be a download or will I have to have another version shipped to me? I took all my flight training at a small "mom & pop" airport called Spanaway Airport (S44). At 20 X 3700, this was not an easy place to learn to land by any means. The width slapped many pilots trying to learn to fly but after they learned there, we knew that they could fly/land anywhere. Due to the ever expanding urban sprawl, Spanaway airport is now on the chopping block. Slated to be replaced by 188 homes. Why am I telling you this? I'm not exactly sure. I got RCV4.2 working on wideFS and all is great except the AdvDisp. Initially I couldn't get it to work, then after some research here I used RegEdit to change the registry path to my main FS machine. After this AdvDisp started working but when I hit the F key (assigned thru FSUIPC) to bring the AdvDisp window up it will only work if it has been used recently. To clarify - right after getting FS setup and having RC connect the AdvDisp window is open, I then hit F to close it. If I hit F again within 5 minutes it will open up, if I wait longer than 5 minutes the only way to open the window is to hit the F key and then excute one of the commands in the window. I always hi…
