Greetings. I am sure this has been discussed many times before but I cant find a definitive answer. My FSX CFG file is corrupt and I want to scrap it and refresh it with a new one. Not done this before so could someone kindly walk me through, step by step how to do it ? I am using Win 7, 64 bit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Busterbvi.

I'm getting ready to upgrade out of my current HD 4870 X2 because its developed some memory issues. The factory overclock settings of 900MHz memory clock causes instant artifacting and shortly thereafter a BSOD and while I was able to make it work again by lowering the memory clock on the cores to 740MHz, its a good sign that its time to get a new card. In addition, the ATI card has never really done well with FSX, no matter how much I tweak it, despite the fact that it's always chewed through just about every other game I own. Hello there, I have been reading quite a bit about blurry textures in FSX, and I have used Word Not Allowed's guide to setup FSX at the beginning, however I have decided to post this topic, as every system works differently, and I guess sometimes you need different solutions for different setups. The blurries are very annoying, it often happens when I move the aircraft by large distances across the world, for example on slew mode. On the picture below, I only moved out 2-3 miles out of EGGP, and this is what I am getting. Hello! I am looking to purchase a new aircraft for my FSX hangar! I am looking at the MD80. What is the difference fom the Super 80 at Flight 1 and the Maddog MD80. I have looked at multiple screen shots and they look the same to me. Any info is greatly appreiciated! Thank You!

OK, so I am about to blow my brains out! I use Plan G and FSC for all my flightplanning. In particular when flying GA in VFR I always like to create custom waypoints and then simply import the flightplan into FSX. I have just parted with my hardearned cash for the RXP Garmin 530 and cannot find anywhere in the manual that explains how to import a flightplan into the GPS. Am I right in thinking that it has to be entered manually? If so this has peed me off big time. OK, I can import manually, although I think that is a little absurd, but how do I enter custom waypoints? Do I assume that I use VOR or DMEs instead? If so, this is crazy, what about all the nice VFR flights th…

Hello As topic says I experience crash in free flight. Usually I get the "blue circle of doom" when I'm using the menu on the top of the screen. I can use the "alt" menu for a long time over the flight, but at some random point it will crash. Anyone have any clues on why? I have REX, Traffic x and a ton of simobjects addons. Besides that I have a stable hight end pc running win 7 x64.

Since Milviz has a generous sale with 50% off the price, I'm gonna add the B55 next to the 310 in my hangar. Which means I am heading down a well known path from FS9 - buying too many add-ons that I don't have the time to fly, but it's just out of my control... :P However, I can easily justify adding also a military jet into my hangar since I've never had one. Of course the Milviz T-38 looks very handsome, especially at that price, but I also know the Lotussim L-39 has a lot of dedicated followers. hello, I have Error 1722 when reinstalling Flight Simulator X. please help me

I have a friend with FSX Acceleration WIN7 64 bit who has a lot of traffic files from many places. If he has all of them in the same folder as the FSX Traffic files the FSX Traffic files are not active. I have read that if one, or more, of his traffic files is an FS9 type it will de-activate all of the FSX traffic files. Is there any simple way to determine if the traffic bgl's are FS9 or FSX type? Ok first a disclaimer, i dont fly for this VA, but i LOVE flying in the caribbean and the two programs they have on their site are fantastic IMO. The two programs i use are TCA Routes and TCA Scheduler here is a preview of what TCA routes can do. http://www.tca.viscal.net/tca-route2/preview.htm It is limited to their VA schedule, but they absolutely BLANKET the caribbean and central america. I just downloaded iDisplay for my tablet and its working great, only issue is that when I try to make any window for FSX full screen on my tablet, the bottom third of the screen can't be used because it stretches everything out so its completely unreadable. It works fine for anything else except FSX windows. Anybody know why this could be? I tried the default resolution as well as the highest resolution in iDisplay but still have nothing.

I was just thinking today how much I'd love to have a native FSX Vickers VC10 with a virtual cockpit and all the bells and whistles. With the exception of Concorde the VC10 has to be the best looking and most elegant jet airliner ever to fly, and it flew every bit as good as it looked with huge take off and climb performance. I know there's already the excellent Dave Maltby VC10 for FS9 but a native FSX model would be very welcome indeed, Just Flight.... I'm looking at you..... And if not a VC10 then how about a BAC 1-11, Trident, or (gasp!) a Britannia?

Greetings Folks, I've been fighting for years trying to get aircraft imported from one version of FS to another. It's usually the same; The aircraft will import ok, but there are bugs that cause problems and annouyances. So I've decided to can the "All-in-one" simulator and go back to flying aircraft for the version they were built for. As an example; Flight1 ATR is great in FS9, but has issues in FSX. The SF360 is AWESOME for FSX, and the PSS DASH-8 is greaft for FS2002. (Along with some other Dreamfleet aircraft) So I have three drives with three seperate installs. XP/FS2002, XP/FS9, Win7/FSX. Also, FS2002 is great if you want to do some IMC flights.…

Hello all, This has been annoying me for years but have always forgot or not had time to raise the issue. It is to do with the water animation and the way it repeats. You notice that you get a nice wave effect for a while then the animation "jumps" if you like back to the beginning of the sequence. This looks bloody awful and frankly distracts me. Does anyone have any idea how to stop this happening? Regards and thanks in advance

Hi all: This one has me stumped. I installed the fabulous carrier programs of Javier Fernandez, Lamont Clark and David Scott Wilson-Okamura. Upon selecting a Carrier location from the Load menu in the FSX opening screen, I am taken to the selected location, but the carrier does not show up at all. Only the selected AC which is hovering about 50' over the water. It is actually on the flight deck, but there is no flight deck or carrier showing! The carrier traffic bgl's are in the same folder as my WoAI traffic bgl's-Scenery/World/scenery folder. All of my WoAI are recent installs using the WoAI installer. After coming to grips with the VNAV on the FMS in my Eaglesoft Citation X (finally :D ), I now find myself doing long trips (1,500nm +) and running out of fuel. Bummer.. Right now I brim the tanks and hope for the best. Sometimes the FMS will say something like "Check Dest Fuel" (can't remember the exact term), and when it doesn't I figure I'm good and I still run low or out of fuel (makes a pretty good glider btw :) ). I figure my planning is way off so I'm looking for help with tools and techniques to help plan my flight profile (altitude, speed, etc.) for a required range. Does anyone (anyone at all) have any information or screenshots of the CRJ 700-900 being developed by Aerosoft. Guys, I installed fsx about a year ago. I just bought the Cessna Mustang and am having problems. This plane requires SP2 or Acceleration. It's been a while but I think I installed Svc Pk1 & 2 back when I first installed fsx. To be sure I went ahead and downloaded and installed Svc Pk1. Then I downloaded and ran the install for SP2. When I execute the install the only option I get is "Remove MSFX Svc Pk 2". No option to install. I assume that since the only option I get is to remove is that fsx already has Svc Pk 2. Right? I have noticed with some older addon aircraft (in this case the Meljet 777) the navigation lights are huge and out of proportion. The halos remind me of the old lights in FS2004/2002. I recall there being a fix somewhere on simviation. does anyone know how to fix this? I am using Real Environment Extreme but I dont think that fixes aircraft lights.

I recently installed the REX Essential enhancemet for my FSX. I had REX before but this new version makes FSX takes twice as long to load and I have experienced plenty microstutters when landing. Sigh. Ther weather does look good though. Is there another good weather engine I could try?
