Flight1 let me apply a coupon that I screwed up and didn't use when I bought an airplane recently. Seems like they always go the extra mile to take care of their customers. Hey guys, I am setting up a home cockpit and I need a good 737-700 flight model. Apparently I am unable to use the PMDG NGX due to a conflict with the project magenta software. Is there a good 737-700 out there that works with FSX? I don't need a panel or anything, just sounds and the aircraft model. Thanks for the help. Angelo Cosma

theres really no reason to have all 3 airbuses... black box, airbus X extended, FSL A320 So when they start coming out, keep us updated here of which one is the keeper. And how about the BlackBox one with all of its recent updates, is that worth getting, would anyone recommend it?

It appears that the development of US scenery has come to a standstill. The only recent release since Jackson Hole (KJAC) is NZ North Island. There is nothing they are currently previewing, and what are your thoughts on what is coming next? Bill Clark

For you guys with the unlimited pack, I've just purchased it and now have to configure it. I plan for two GNS530s in the Lancair, Turbine Duke, and Basler BT-67. Some questions for these multi-GNS panels: 1. TCAD - do you set this up on only one of the GNS? Or on both? 2. Crossfill - do I have to set it up to crossfill only from GNS1 to GNS2 etc? Or can I set it up enabled on both configs, so I can go either way? 3. I assume normally LinkVor=1 on GNS1, and LinkVor=2 on GNS2, same with radios? 4. Terrain warnings - do you disable the audio on one device so it's not duplicated? Or does it not matter? 5. AutoApproach - the config tool says this is to work around…

Shame the frame rate hit is so harsh. Looks like mostly auto-gen but these screens are 2 different fsx.cfg; one very pimped out, the other set to about high on most. Obviously best to open each in a window and quickly switch between the 2 to see the differences.

Greetings fellow simmers.... I have a generic question regarding performance in FSX. I do a lot of flying in Washington State in FSX. When I fly outside of the Seattle area my performance goes up. When I fly in the Seattle area the performance goes down. Now I understand and accept this as true because there is more detail in the Seattle area than in the rest of Washington state. However, the thing I do not understand is when I adjust sliders in my settings to find the sweet spot the performance never changes. Going to do a upgrade and new install this week. I always place my FSX on a seperate drive but was wondering if there are any additional FSX related software that should also be placed on that drive for better performance. I run flight planning and weather on networked computer. Thanks

I feel I should inform the FS community here of the absolutely outstanding support and help I received from Flight1 in my efforts to (re)install the FSX version of the 767 on my recently built FSX-capable machine. Without wanting to bore you all with details, suffice to say that my Level D 767 has a long history harking back to my days with FS9. I eventually upgraded to FSX with numerous email changes and address changes in between and yet the guys at Flight1 were able to keep track of all my bungled attempts and finally straighten me out. I'm looking at purchasing a 3pd GPS to get some additional functionality for my planes. I've done some reading and am looking at either the RealityXP GNS530 or the FSD GLV2000. I'm leaning towards the FSD product as (1) I like how it looks and (2) it offers LNAV capability. I'm unclear if the GNS530 offers this as the only reference to the autopilot I can find says "automatically fly your aircraft through holding patterns, procedure turns and other position-critical IFR flight procedures". Both claim to offer a utility that makes installing them in different planes easy and I'd also like some feedback on this as well as potential issues I could face with either. This…

I saw a site from OPEN VFR, that we can have better fsx scenery then the default with this open vfr. is there someone who already has this scenery and what is the difference with gex and utx form flight1 any info would be appreciated

Hi all! I was just wondering, I mostly (read always) fly online on IVAO. Something that bothers me is the absence of traffic that this causes. Obviously I run into other online traffic but I would like to know whether it is possible to run AH traffic while flying online? My FSX AI traffic doesn't exist when I connect on IVAO and my traffic sliders get reset to zero. Is this an option in IVAO or is it mandatory. I do appreciate the conflicts that might arise from running AI traffic while flying online but nevertheless would like to know if it is possible. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm just getting into making FSX videos, and I was wondering what the best recording program is (for playback from fsrecorder). I currently use MSI Afterburner, but I get my framerates easily slashed in half, or at the very least, dropped by 5-10 while recording. Since FSX doesn't use the GPU more than around 30%, I was wondering if there were any good (and free) recorders out there that can pretty much run on the GPU using CUDA. Thanks!

I recently installed the REX Essential enhancemet for my FSX. I had REX before but this new version makes FSX takes twice as long to load and I have experienced plenty microstutters when landing. Sigh. Ther weather does look good though. Is there another good weather engine I could try?

So i just fired up FSX for the first time in about a month and I am having much much slower load times than I previously did. I have not uninstalled it or made any changes to the FSX file. I have, however, installed and uninstalled many programs since using FSX last. I am using an SSD so defragging really isnt an options. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions before I need to complete the laborious task of a fresh install. Thanks in advance.

I sometimes wonder (more and more) why so many people buy so many airplane addons. I am a one plane man. And I only want the best. When the Katana 4x was released I bought it and it was the only GA I flew until I found out about the BayTower RV-7, which I flew for a few months without looking at other planes. After being away from FSX for some time (sigh...) I heard about the RealAir Legacy: imho the best GA out there and right now it is the only plane I fly. I am a one plane man. Hi I have Max Karus FIMP Mauritius Scenery, the problem I am finding is that there is a large bump on the left end of RWY 14, normally the land is fairly flat around the airport, is there any payware or freeware scenery that any recommends I could use in order to make the land/terrain/mesh better. Hi guys, I'd like a free utility or a web based one that randomly generates flights for me setting departure airport, maximum NM to fly, minimum runway lenght, maximum flight hours. I know this question was already posted but replies are all very dated. I only found Destination Finder V 2.0 (I have yet to try it), do you know something else for free?

everything is running again but i dont know what im missing to cause this.. my aircraft are starting out nose into the terminal theyre jumping on the runway like theyve just fell off a kurb theres a faint image of the original FSX runway (pre-Xtreme install) traffic are taxing on the grass!! what?

Any clue how to easily go about fixing this? I see tons of google hits on a similar issue of files being corrupt but there is no way I'm repairing my FSX install from CD. Its bound to mess up 20 other addons I have at the same time.

So, I just had to redownload FSX, and I can't seem to get the SP1 dowloaded. I wanted to see if anyone had a site they recomend other than FS Insider that would be safe to get 1 and 2 from. Hi guys. I have a ppl license almost 25 years now, just to clarify my aviation education. I have a Aerosoft Diamond Katana 4x , general aviation plane which has, in my opinion, best in depth systems simulation for such a little plane. It is a PMDG in general aviation in terms of graphich and systems simulated. Many FSX user consider it to be among best aircrafts ever released for FSX. It is a marvel in the payware section of FSX, no doubt. BUT, yaw axe and rudder behaviour is what concerns me about this aircraft.
