Hello, I use active skies 2012 and I can only currently have the weather updating every 5 mins is there a way to make it more frequent like every 1 min or maybe 30 seconds? Thanks

Hi: I just bought a new computer 4gig processor 16 gig memory 2gig video card and installed fsx on it. It runs great ... Frame rates from 70 up to 189fps. I have one plane from FSD that I use alot and it worked great in FSX on my old win XP machine...now when I load it, it loads ok at the airport and everything is going great.. frame rate76... can zoom and pan in views ... switch to external views... but when I make a mouse click anywhere it crashes to desktop.. It's driving me batty!!! I ran event viewer and here are a copy of the results.. fsx.exe 10.0.61472.0 475e17d3 panels.dll 10.0.61472.0 475e180d c0000005 00024700 1c0c …

I've already posted this over at the other site and got no replies. So I thought, maybe someone over here at AVsim has some ideas. I have FSX installed to C:\FSX and FSUIPC 4 is installed correctly in the modules folder. FSUIPC works for everything else but when I start AirHauler, after the company loads successfully, I get an error message that FSUIPC cannot be found in the FSX installation. Within Airhauler, in the options menu, I've already checked and the path is shown correctly as C:\FSX. Does anyone have any ideas as to why AH cannot find FSUIPC and what I can do to correct this. I'm running an Alienware Aurora R3 with Win7 64 bit. BTW, I've already asked at Just…

I need to buy a laptop for my office, and I was wondering if Prepar3D would run on it (with some sliders going right). i keep reading on these forums that Prepar3D is smoother, less in need of tweaking, and of course, the future of FSX. I love FSX on my current home system (see specs), but I thought about buying Prepar3D for portable use. Here's what I'm planning on buying: Samsung Series 7, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive, Intel 3rd generation Core, I7, 2.3 GHz (with Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz), high definition widescreen LED (1600 x 900), 64 bit system. $999 at Best Buy. What do you think? Stan

I have AFX and have looked at ADE (donation-ware), and still can't find out if either of these add ons would work for what I want, or if not then what would. I would like to enable some runways at airports (FSX stock) as take-off only and landing only. These are airports with parallel runways in all 4 compass quadrants, and with r/l assignments for take offs and landings that are usually used. I don't wish to create any further new airports, and this is not (as I understand it) related to the "cross-wind runway" assignments that I see in the ADE manual. Thanks, Bruce.

This question is really aimed at being able to take better screenshots or even just vary the view of the Sim as we fly in it. Take for example Carenado's exterior views. They have some very good exterior camera positions but (IMHO) ...very poor zoom. You get a very close, very wide angled shot from most of these views. What I'd like to achieve is a better "focal length" (Not so Wide) with an initial positioning further from the aircraft but zoomable OR trackable (for those unfamiliar with the difference : When you zoom a lens you change the focal length AND the angle which you see the view. When you Track in or out The focal length and the angle of view stay t…

Hi there, I'd like to take my simulation to the next level in FSX. Other than the Boeing 737ngx are there any other payware out there that simulate aircraft pretty accurately with an FMS and all? I know there's a few 320 projects out there, but I take it there's nothing quite up to par yet that's actually out that is pretty accurately modelled in the 320 line? Also CRJ, Dash 8, Embraer 175, 190? Anything else?

I always use FSUIPC to calibrate my joystick. When I do, I use the Profile Specific option for each plane instead of using a generic setting for all planes. The question I have is how, once a plane is configured like I want, how can I go back and delete that particular profile since the Profile Specific box is grayed out. Intead of calibrating each plane in a particular variation such as every C172, I calibrate one and then assigned the others by selecting it from the pull down list. I screwed up using this method by selecting the C-340 profile while calibrating a C-90B. Should have selected another C-90. One of them (the C-90 is a turboprop), having a revers…

I haven't seen this posted anywhere and didn't come up with any info in a search but I just went to the Project Opensky website to look for an ERJ-145 and was greeted by an announcment the PO has been dissolved and the website will shut down on 8/31. Odd that I haven't heard of this. How about anyone else? The reason I put this here is that I know a lot of FSX pilots use at least some Opensky aircraft.

Dear Developers, If you are making an aircraft with a HUD, please please please please PLEASE make the HUD collimated! A non-collimated HUD pretty much defeats the point of having the HUD in the first place, certainly when it comes to the horizon line and velocity vector! Iris have been making really nice collimated HUDs for a long time now. The VRS F/A-18E has an excellent collimated HUD. The PMDG 737NGX has a sublime collimated HUD. The Mil Viz F-15 has a fairly rough looking HUD but at least it's collimated. The Wilco Harrier has a collimated HUD, and I'm most pleased to see from the screenshots of the new Razbam Harrier that appears to have a collimated HU…

Hi, Would it be possible to start a flight in FSX and while in flight to minimize FSX and play Battlefield 3? Thanks!!

Hi everyone. Great forum. I recently purchased FSX after playing it a few times at a friends house. After doing some googling, I see all these amazing addons for planes, cockpits, etc etc. What is the best way to start downloading and using them? I see a lot of stuff I might be interested in on fs-freeware.net. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello All, I purchased a 256Gb Samsung SSD over the weekend with the main purpose to run both the OS and FSX on. I also have a number of VFR scenery addons, REX + numerous planes which I would also like to add. However, given how much space this all takes I'm not sure how best to proceed, the aim though is to make both the load times & scenery load times as quick as possible. With the above in mind should I install everything onto the SSD or, leave the FSX installation on the SSD but install the VFR scenery onto the 1Tb HD (a Samsung F3)? Thanks in advance, James

Hi All: I'm flying the T45 (and others) off the deck of Javier Hernandez's USS Nimitz. I might add that it is a great rendition of a carrier, but I suspect those who have it would agree anyway. And for those that do have it, I have a question. In his readme notes, he make mention that he has added steam to the catapults in the latest version. Well, I don't see any steam and invoking the "I" key does not produce any either. I looked in the ships cfg file and could see no entry for "Smoke" or "Steam". I e-mailed him asking for assistance but have had no reply. Hope someone can help here because the addition of steam would be awesome. Thanks Chris

Hi all, I am considering getting Wilco's A330/A340 collection in the near future and want to do some trans-atlantic flights with as much realism as possible. One thing which has always niggled me with FSX though is the flight routing across the atlantic. <_< Basically my question initially is: is there any way to add something to FSX so that the stock flight planner recognises NATs and routes aircraft through them properly with correct (default) ATC recognition etc.? I have tried this: nat_waypoints.zip, but it appeared to do absolutely nothing to the sim. I am thinking it would only work with an external flight planner? What about natv40.zip? I shou…

I'm wondering: is this FSX or mission feature? I was flying mission yesterday for almost two hours. Near the end I failed to meet objective. And in pilot log there was no flying time recorded.
