What is the default program to open BGL files for FSX; All mine say Notesblok? But a scenery won't install? Berlopez

I downloaded the CVN76.zip, here, and installed it in FSX Acceleration. I cannot get the autopilot to steer the ship or get the horn to sound with the "G" key. The sound.cfg looks OK and the horn.wav plays in my Audio program OK. I can steer the ship with the joystick. I even tried putting the throttle on one engine low and it still won't turn. Has anyone downloaded, and installed it, and got the horn to sound or the A/P working? Thanks, Bob.

If this isn't the right forum for this post, will some kind administrator please move it. When I hit the 'V' key and save a picture, it always seems to save as a bitmap 'bmp' file. Since it appears that all of the shots in the screenshots forum are jpg's, is there a way I can tell FSX to save my pics in that format? If not, is it a correct assumption that I will have to convert all pics put in the screenshot forum as jpg's. Thanks.

So I'm trying out my favorite plane in the FSPassengers demo and of course the payload is not in the demo nor is it available on their web site. I can easily put in 8 people but not sure if that would be fun? Suggests on what to fill in where? Doesn't really need to be realistic to me, I'm more interested in fun like having at least 1 crew member, for example. Here are all the things I can fill out and not sure what to put in them. Help please from those that know planes.

Hey Guys, Posted this in the PMDG NGX forum a couple of days back, didn't get any positive solution. Any ideas on what it could be? not just an NGX issue, but a variety of payware aircraft.

Howdy folks, I wasn't sure where to post this, so I guess here is as good as anywhere. I currently have a nice set up for FS. I use FS Flightkeeper to take snapshots, logbook, and flight critique. I use Fraps to take videos of takeoff's, landings and near misses. I also use FS Map as a moving map on my iPad. So a few years ago I built a web server to share and publish my flights. I'm currently using FSX's ATC right now with Ultimate Traffic 2. One issue I get is while in mid-air I'm getting a lot of close fly-by's, within 1000 ft usually. Once I even over took another slower 737. Flew over him by a few hundred feet. I tried running aismooth for my flights but it didn't seem to help. It's mainly annoying with FSX ATC cause I constantly hear the traffic in sight stuff for all these planes flying by. Would something like VoxATC better manage traffic so we're not all flying that close together?

I got this computer a few days ago, my old one with Ultimate died and I installed FSX\Gold onto this one but I am having problems installing scenery. I have managed some sceneries I have used in the past, also using win7 trick to click on a white space. and auto installers. I made a goof and accidentally deleted the scenery folder unde Addon scenery at one point,so I posted here and was told ot simply ceate a new one with scenery folder and texture folde inside it. I have done that. I'm rying to install scenery from san Andres y Providencia ( Colombia) I have a file tht worked perfectly in my old computer with Ultimate. Hi FSX Gurus! I am really enjoying pelting around the highlands of Scotland at low level thanks to the amazing new scenery from play horizon. Unfortunately if I go much over 120knots the scenery does not load fast enough. OK in the chopper as you can just throw it into a quick orbit or hover. But in the VRS Superhornet at 480knots there is not much chance. Is there any tips for improving the load times? Can i un-check some of the useless scenery in the library for places I never go or something like that? My computer is not too shabby. Hope you can help! Best Regards Richard

Well, some time ago I purchased a copy of FSX Gold, with my brand new laptop (Toshiba R835-P81, i5 2435, Intel HD3000). I'm getting good performance with FS9 and addon sceneries and aircraft, but I'm getting tired of the limited autogen range and the blurries at the distance. I understand FSX is better in this aspect. If I want to try FSX with this laptop (yes, I know, thou shalt not sim in a laptop), what should I take into account in order to not having to look back at FS9? I mean, settings, addon recommendations, etc. PS: I hope the FS9 people don't see me, they'll charge me with high treason :P

Hello everyone, whenever I fly at night and taxi around I seem to get these greeny looking boxes that show on the ground in front of the plane. I can't tell if this is just how fsx is at night or if its something on my end. I must say my monitor is old and not the best quality so I feel like that may be what's doing it. Thanks.

This is a new install on a new rebuild. I have traffic and highways running through KMEM default airport. This is a screenshot of the default KMEM airport. So I've got the NGX, UTX, GEX, UT2, REX, ASE2012, FS2crew (NGX), GSX, Aerosoft AES tons of Payware/Freeware Airports...I fly a lot of WestJet and AA routes in and around Canada and the United States...but Im getting bored. I currently have logged 157 flights on the NGX and most of which is on VATSIM. Now, could there be an addon that would fit with my type of flying? I dont want a new plane or scenery....maybe a utility? Any suggestions would be great!

Hey guys, I have a question: is there a way, any way, so that when I delete a plane during a session it stays deleted? UT2 keeps reloading the planes after a minute or so.

Does anyone know where I can lay my hands on some African airliners repaints who operate this particular set of Embraers? I have searched here and in other normal FSX sources without a great deal of luck. Thanks in advance.
