Hello friends, I will start of by saying sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Since my step dad has come into my life he has introduced me to flight simulation at the age of 10 since then I've done more then 2000 hours flying non stop and it has been my dream to be and airliner pilot :). I'm currently 17 years old at college and if it helps my gcse weren't bad managed to get a B in both maths and English if that helps. What I'm wondering is where do I go after I finish college ( 1 more year left). I've logged a few hours toward my ppl at my flying club. I have an Alienware Aurora Computer with 3 display screens. Undocking "views" in FS9 is relatively easy but I have been trying to replicate the procedure in FSX with no joy. Can anyone provide a hint as to how you can arrange windows to provide a left side view, cockpit forward view and a right side view in FSX? Thanks for your assistance. Neil

Now, FS BUILD does come with 737/8/9 profiles..which is fine and I know you can adjust them for the NGX's weights and I have done that. However, does anyone have a Performance File for the NGX -700 and -800 that has actually nailed the numbers? I keep adjusting mine but I dont think I'll ever get it right. Im looking for something that will get me within average real life numbers. For example, if I build a plan with FS build and fly it to the numbers that are on the Nav Log and with the same Upper Winds, Weights, Mach number etc, I should plan to land within say +/-200 or 300lbs of fuel.

I just installed fsx to fly 1 airplane the crj700. I tried to download a panel upgrade and now the whole airplane has dissapeared in fsx. The airplane is still there under sim objects/airplanes and I moved the orginal aircraft.cfj and panel.cfj back but it still dont show up. is there anyone that can take my folder and straighten it out and send it back to me so I can just use it? jamie

Hello, After trying the tweaks posted by Word Not Allowed and the automated tweaking tool from Bojote, my FSX performs pretty well EXCEPT in cities where I have Aerosoft US Cities X installed which are San Francisco and Manhattan. The FPS range at about 6-9 FPS and there are stutters. I don't think my system can't handle it. I know the RADEON HD 6970 is not the best for FSX but I'm trying to figure out what else I can do to to make the sim run smoother in those areas. Any advice/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. My specs are listed on my profile.

Is there a way to make a "Favorites" folder for your frequently flown aircraft and liveries so that you don't have to scroll through a hundred default and addon aircraft? Is it also necessary for AI aircraft to be in Simobjects/Airplanes folder to function properly in FSX? I have a lot of Vietnam War Project AI a/c and when I sequestered them in their own folder, it looked like they ceased to function. Thanks in advance. Slim

Real pilot, also use X plane 10. Wanted to practice IFR, ILS, and VOR approaches. Is there a way to set the visivility to what I want? For example low startus 1 mile visibility 400ft ceiling. If not. What is the way to setup weather for IFR flights?

If through some miracle FS 11 was announced, what SINGLE improvement would influance your decision to buy it over staying with FSX/FS9? I am pretty satisfied with FSX so I am curious what others think

I downloaded a program called DxtFixerX to add missing alpha filters to textures in FSX. I also got something called the B1 Archiver. Fine, I deleted/uninstalled that since I was happy with my present setup. The DxtFixerX program works ok. However, now my home page on both Internet Explorer and Firefox is being changed to the B1 site. If I change my home page selection to my proper home page it reverts to the B1 site on a re-boot.(http://search.b1.org(http://search.b1.org/?bsrc=ecfor&qq=). Allowing any program to make basic changes to your browser is just plain BAD! I could say how I really feel but Tom might not understand those words and ban me.

Hello altogether. After having bought a new computer, I wanted to return to the virtual skies and now I'm back to business :) For the first time I use FSX instead of FS9. Here are my specs: i7 3770k @3,5GHz (Turboboost up to 3,9GHz) with Coolermaster watercooling, 16GB RAM, GTX 680 2GB GPU, SSD for the OS and a WD Caviar black 1TB for the FSX. I installed several basic addons such as UTX, Landclass and GEX and defragmented the HD after every installation with UltimateDefrag 4. Cause my VA has some rediculous landings... and im not sure how realistic that is.

Is it possible to smooth the hat switch more, or make it less jerky? I have started flying in the 3d cockpit, on the PMDG NGX, but one of the things I don't like is that quite often when you are in the landing sequnce, you have to look down at you dials then look up at the runway. It is a very jerky process. I would like to get TrackIR soon, but for now I haven't got this aid. If it was just a little smoother I would like it more. Many thanks Julian

My ventilator is about to fall apart so i went looking for a new one, it's the 'tropical season' here in Holland, you see . As i'm looking for a special kind of ventilator and the first picture that turned up of it was from Dyson i clicked it, entered the Dyson site and clicked 'where to buy' eventhough i'm in Holland. The page openend showing a small chart and then my heart went boom.... Anybody knows why ?.... : Remember, i'm from Holland, Ok ? And it has also got to with a ventilator to keep me cool, but not from Dyson.. cheers, jan

I would not use it for its effects as I fly a small number of payware well fitted in this regard but I was impressed by the smoothness of zooming in on a gauge and from gauge to gauge I saw on a couple of YT clips. Might be useful for a quick check of the compass when Heidi is in the Cub or looking down at the temp gauge on the P40 just pushing a button on my throttle. Is it worth the hassle of installing (and learning how to operate !) for such a limited use and does it tax the fluidity of the sim (my system is borderline) ?

Hello! I just recently up graded the RAM on my computer frrom 3Gb to 8GB, and I am noticing that when I switch from full screen to windowed mode and back, that my aircraft textures disappear sometimes. By disappear I mean I can see through the panels and aircraft. I try to switch back to windowed mode and it dosen't fix it. I was wondering if there is a fix for this? Hi All, I came across this excellent IFR handbook provided online in PDF format for free by the FAA: http://www.faa.gov/library/manuals/aviation/instrument_procedures_handbook/ However I was wondering does anyone know of an equivalent handbook (free downloadable of this quality) for any other country? I ask this because it would be more ideal to have an ICAO version. I couldn't find one for Australia from AirServices or CASA, but maybe someone knows a good guide available from another country?

Hey guys, just got Flight Simulator the other day and really enjoying my experiances on it so far. Now I know you can download files etc to get other aircrafts/texures etc. Now, i've got winrar and I know how to extract files etc, due to doing it with other games (e.g Football Manager). So I've looked at different "guides" to double make sure what im doing is right, but nothing seems to work when I download the aircraft. What i've tried is: - Downloaded the file. - Extracted the file. - Copied/pasted the file into Flight Simulator X files/sim objects/airplanes. - I then load up Flight Simulator. Finished most missions and am getting a bit bored with FSX. From reading, seems these 2 programs are high quality and add a bunch of depth to FSX. I'd be curious to hear any feed back on these 2 products. Pros/cons? Which is more fun, engrossing or satisfying to play?

Do all of the elevators move on all of the Acceleration carriers? If not, which elevators do work? Is there a command that has to be executed to get the elevator to operate? Thanks, Bob.
