Been away from FS for a long, long time. I've used FS2004 for a long time and I bought FSX back when it was released but never used it because I never had a computer that could run it halfway decent. I just received a free all-in-one HP computer through Walmart sparks review program and it has a nice 22 inch screen and a fast SSD hard drive. Just a dual core 3.2ghz Intel Celeron cpu but man this thing is faster than I thought it would be. It runs FSX fine though it won't be enough for the new FS sim. Greetings! My situation is that I have two add-ons of very similar single-engine aircraft: one with a 140 HP engine and another with a 160 HP engine. I prefer the flight characteristics and engine output of the 140 HP aircraft (I train in it in real life and it is quite accurate), but I also prefer the layout and virtual cockpit of the 160 HP aircraft (which looks identical to my training aircraft - 140 HP is way different). Is there an easy way to copy the flight and engine characteristics of one aircraft to another? So I would have the appearance of the 160 HP aircraft but it would fly exactly like the 140 HP aircraft? After uninstalling EZdok 3 my Track Ir 5 did not start and work with FSX SE. Then I tried this advice https://steamcommunity.com/app/314160/discussions/0/537402115091410952/ After that Track Ir worked but I got problems with FSUIPC in that FSXSE giving a message that Flight Simulator has detected a problem with 3 party software FSUIPC.dll and if I choose to run it FSXSE crashes. I have tried reinstalling FSUIPC and repairing and installing simconnect again but nothing helps

I have installed (for some time now) a Push Back add-on on all my aircaft on FSX Steam and it works well on all except the Tom DC-10-30, DC-10F & the KC-10. Ironically it also works well on the Tom DC-10-10 & 15. Is someone able to tell me how to solve this annoying little problem please? Any help would be extremely grateful. I have been using FSX-SE for a couple of years - at least. It has lately been very (and I mean very) slow to load. Suddenly, yesterday, a new category appeared in the aircraft selection tab: as well as Microsoft Corporation, PMDG and Majestic (for installed add-on aircraft) I now have "Just Flight". If I select it I am offered 'Plane Spotter' and something else. Has anyone else seen this - what is it? The only thing I have installed recently, and it came from "Just Flight", is a Global Airport detail scenery enhancement package. Has this been installed without my wanting it, and can I get rid of it? Andrew Gold

Hello all, I am trying to troubleshoot a problem that has been occuring off and on over the past few months. For example, I am flying a short final into an airport and then the entire monitor suddenly becomes blank. I can still hear the aircraft flying (so the audio system is okay), but there is nothing on the screen. Any ideas as to what is going on?

Hello, I use Editvoicepack XL as a supplement for ATC on my system. I've notice a number of issues. I can see the callsign (i.e. JetBlue, Airtran) of my selected aircraft reflected in the appropriate box in the aircraft review section, before I load it for flight. However, the automated callback from my aircraft omits the callsign and only states the flight number in the system, when my flight is running. Any suggestions as to why this is hapening will be appeciated.

I have a number of add on aircraft which appear incomplete, sometimes just the crew sitiing in mid air or just the interiors showing I've tried reinstalling but nothing seems to work. Also on some which have an installer this always comes up as file corrupted and will not run. I suppose this will all be old hat when MSFS2020 is out but it would be nice to know what's causing this odd behaviour. Thansk for any replies.

I was just wondering whether there is a good quality A350 out there. freeware / payware anything is fine. The only quality A350 model I came across turned out to be the SAAD A350 (FlightFactor model) which is obviously banned right now.

I'm curious as how you play as ATC in FSX. Is this some sort of add-on or is it part of FSX?

Using ORBX vector and OpenLC. This screenshot is from geneva, but its like that in many places of the world: Does anyone have any lead in what to look into for solving that issue? I thought reverting to a default terrain.cfg and let orbx central re-synchronize would solve this, but it didnt.

I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden the mountains in Europe in FSXSE have been reduced to mere hills. Curiously enough, this doesn't apply to North america- the Rockies look rugged. I have Switzerland Pro X installed. When I fly over the Alps only the nearby peaks are shown realistically. In the middle distance and beyond, the topography is flattened. Weird! The Italian Alps have been reduced to rounded hills My Graphic Settings are high. Mesh is at 5m. In the scenery library the first two layers are mesh 5m, and I have no idea how these got there, maybe some scenery addon. Perhaps it's related to a Netherlands VFR scenery that I installed two months…

I have this problem where I cannot get the GPWS sound to work on my 787-900 aircraft, I downloaded it from Simviation. I followed the instruction, where it says to put the GPWS file into the main FSX directory, into the sound file. Everything else works as intended (I.e the wipers, switches etc). For some unknown reason I can't get the GPWS sounds to work. I recently had to uninstall my FSX-SE and reinstall it. Following advice I created a separate place on the C:\ 'tree' called SteamLibrary and put FSX-SE there. That means everything, and all my add-ons (both Steam-based DCL and others) installed to SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX. It all went perfectly, in fact works rather well, except installing the DCL content was difficult. I got that sorted except the Active Sky Next (ASN). It will not configure because it cannot 'find' the necessary files. I assumed it was because FSX-SE is not installed in the 'default' location: ProgramFiles(X86) etc., etc. However, when I 'tell' ASN where FSX is located it still 'fails…

Hey guys, I've been running a number of 747s on FSX SE recently and have noticed that there is often little or no VC lighting. I can select panel lights but they only illuminate the 2D panels and leave everything else dark. Today, running a UA 747 out of HNL early in the morning, I noticed that the cockpit was once again dark, even with engines running and lights on. When I turned on the NAV lights the PFD, MFD etc. would light up but everything else stayed dark. I know these addon 744s can often be pretty dim when there is little light outside, but even after taking off and flying well into the day the cockpit remains dark, and I don't just mean dull so its difficul…

Hello community, I want to fix some issues regarding autogen buildings on water bodies. My plan is to delete my old, probably corrupted, terrain.cfg, replace it with a default one and let ORBX central rebuild its entries. Does anyone have a default FSX-Acceleration terrain.cfg for me? thanks :)

Morning Chaps. I'm new to the forum (But certainly not new to Flight sims!)., so Hi to all! I was hoping for a little help. I know RealAir are now defunct, so I can't use my Scout installer anymore. I also know a new installer has been created for some of their A/C (Duke, Spit etc), but not heir Scout. Is this there anyway around this? Unfortunately I don't have a back-up of my old FSX install to play around with copy/paste folders/REG keys. I've searched the forum, but not really found an answer (sorry if I've missed one!). I have recently got this computer for FS2020 and in the meantime I am trying to use FSX Steam on it. Right now there are no addons installed on FSX and when I hit fly now the screen loads to black and the only way to exit is to sign out of my account and sign back in. I have tried other options to try to solve this but to no avail.

I've looked around for addons that make it so you can do stuff such as request a ramp landing/takeoff from ATC while in a helicopter, but I can't seem to find any that don't also add a bunch of functionality I don't honestly need. Anybody know of any freeware/low-cost payware ones?

I have been successfully using FSX-SE with the PMDG 737 and 777 aircraft for some time now without any issue of key and control assignments which were set up through the FSX . Recently I wanted to add a joystick controller simply to operate the rudders for ground steering but having left a few previously set up assignments to that joystick, I found it messed up all my settings for the aircraft and so I disconnected the joystick. Unfortunately when doing that it completely removed or rearranged my existing settings and I had to then reset all settings from scratch. I have a problem with a number of flight planners generating magnetic headings that are off from what's shown on an actual chart. I created a simple flight plan from KWMH to KWMH in Washington State which I use for practice navigation and ILS approaches. I've used both Flight Sim Commander and Professional Flight Planner to come up with the following course. I also plotted the same course on the latest Seattle Sectional. The differences vary too much for my liking. Incidentally, I have applied Hervé Sors latest correction for 1/1/2020 to my FSX-SE installation.
