Hello, I really have no idea if this is the right place for my question, tell me if it isn't. I like the freeware utility Destination Finder 2.0 a lot. You can find it at several Web sites. The only problem I have, is that the Database Creator isn't working. MakeRunways works fine of course, and the update function of DF is based on the files created by MakeRunway. When I click on the button to start the Database Creator, it just does nothing. DF doesn't crash at all, it just does nothing. I tried everything, running it in compatibility mode, as an administrator, running it in the FSX default installation folder, running DF after updating MakeRunways and ru…

I made a flight plan and saved it in the panel state with a name ( ex abc) The problem is I cannot load the plan from the panel state. Any idea what the problem is ? Thank you Paul 23

Hi All I have bought a new computer and I am reinstalling my FSX products (yes it's old but I likey) I have installed FTX global and England and hi-def trees and buildings (among other FTX products) and then tried to install Earth SIMs IOS, IOM, Gurnsey and Alderney. The autogen isn't showing correctly in these areas. I have some old autogen compatibility files from ES which are smaller than the Orbx adjusted ones but these dont work. I have read that FTX is compatible with ES but that there might be some updated autogen files to download. Is this right and where can I download? If not doe…

Hello everyone Im currently having an annoying issue that I hope I can get some input in order to solve it.. about a week ago I reinstalled FSX with SP2 (I still have the DVD's) and gave it a go with some aircraft I purchased in the past, these are: RealAir Duke V2 A2A Cessna 172 PMDG 737NGX Wonderful aircraft, the thing is from time to time they become unflyable due to some click spots disappearing in VC, I already tried moving the eyepoint, changing views and they randomly come and go, I read a few days ago that for the Duke the issue falls in the 3D lights system and splash of the landing lights, however the same issue happens in the other 2 aircraf…

When I start FSX It says there has been a fatal error and THE FLIGHT SIM HAS to shut down and the it restarts and then the same thing no matter what plane or what scenery it does this about three or four times and the it will operate it doesn't matter if I'm in EUROPE or CANADA OR THE U.S. I'm ready to jerk it out and put FS9 back in I didn't have any trouble with it! Noticed that in the real world, the 250 kt speed restriction ceiling has now changed from 10000 ft down to 5000 ft. Is there any way to apply this to the sim? And can this be done in P3D and X-Plane when I get them? Also, I've browsed through old threads on how to edit FX files for different lighting effects, BUT i still can't figure out how to successfully get the specific SWA style LED wigwag landing light effect (left on/right off,right on/left off, repeat) I've tried doing it as recognition lights but didn't notice any difference... anyone figure out how?

Hi. I have a question I’ve been thinking about for some time. Do you remember any interaction with the ATC before crossing the runways at any airport during taxi? I have some memories about it, with custom AI traffic, before crossing any runway being asked by ATC to hold position, or having to ask to ATC for cross the runway, I don’t remember it correctly, but I would swear that there was some kind of interaction. I was talking with a friend the other day and he told me that in P3D that wasn’t present. any clue about it?

Hey AVSIM, So I need some help. My problem started maybe 4 or 5 months ago. Whenever I have FSX in window mode and I change views or an on screen green scrolling message appears, my FSX does this weird thing where basically bars move around the screen, and if the bar is over a SimObject, it makes that part of it disappear. The weirdest part though, is that it is better and worse with some planes. With payware add-on aircraft it is the worst, and it's the best with FSX default aircraft, but it still happens. But if I run FSX in full screen, the graphics are so bad I can't read what is on the MCDU. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Vapor

Although it's showing its age, I still enjoy flying the Eaglesoft Citation X v2.0, I've had it for 5-6 years and never really had any trouble with it -- until last Monday. I have not (consciously) changed anything on the installation, which makes this all the more weird. The problem that appeared on Monday was that the throttles suddenly didn't work anymore. I have a Saitek X-56 with dual throttle, I use it with FSUIPC and it works fine with a variety of add-ons. And it used to work fine with the Citation X as well. But starting Monday, pushing the throttles forward after starting the engines does not result in a similar movement of the throttles on the screen. The e…

Few months ago I played XP11 and I had a lot of fun. I even purchased A320 from FF. I learned basics of this plane, could make number of routes. However it started to become overwhelming when I wanted to plan longer routes, use some AI traffic control or at least to know where to move on the airport. Just for an immersion. It was quite irritating to had to install separate mods for each of those things or looking for a YT tutorials. I wonder if FSX is more friendly for a new player? I heard it has missions and flying school or stuff like atc which guides you with departures and arrivals or choosing proper runway. I don’t mind getting deep, learning the game but …

I am a relative newby to FSX. When using the radio stack to land one of the Microsoft FSX planes at Sydney Kingsford Smith airport, there is no distance or speed shown on the DME panel. For example, if I am landing on runway 07 - the ILS/DME frequency is shown as 109.9 for the airfield. I enter this in NAV1 and make it active. When I approach the runway, the NAV button lines the aircraft up with the runway. At no stage does are speed or distance shown in the display. In desperation I have tried various combinations of buttons pressed of NAV1 and DME with no display. I have also tried various Microsoft propeller aircraft. As an aside, the OFF butto…

I am running Microsoft FSX on Windows 10, 64bit and am experiencing corrupted views when using Carenado aircraft such as the P42 Cheyenne III and also the PMDG 737NGX. I have a powerful computer with an i7 octacore processor, 8Gb Nvidea GTX2070 graphics card and 32Gb RAM. I have some photos of corrupted images when in external view but I can't attach them to this page unfortunately. I have 3 monitors from the same graphics card and when I drag an undocked instrument to one of the other screens it goes black but on the main screen it shows ok. Has anyone had similar problems and have a solution to resolve this? I will be pleased to receive any suggestions. …

I have FSX-SE installed. Every time I load the game, I get a series of messages: It starts with scenery.cfg file error local scenery (...\..\Playsims VFRPS\vol 8\vectors in scenery area 151 not found. click ok to continue. And that's repeated 7 times up to layer 158. Only after clearing each message FSX launches. BTW I do not have the VFRPS addon sceneries (northern and southern Scotland) installed. maybe I used to in the past, can't remember. I found a post which recommended using SeneryConfifEditor to solve the problem. I used it to delete those layers, 152-158. but that didn't resolve the error messages, which appeared again. I've had FSX-Se on my pc fpr a few years now, and it runs smoothly. Except one feature. When I press 'real word weathe'r, I get an error message. I am new to using the Embraer Phenom 100 (FSX Steam Edition) and am looking forward to it. I have used only prop aircraft prior to this. I am casually familiar with the Embraer manual. When I am set up for takeoff I have a NO TOCONFIG light and two audio messages that are always going until I actually takeoff. I have found two places that seem to be related to the issue but neither of them seems to help. I have run the Embraer configuration tool as the stand alone program and it does not change this no matter what my settings thus far. I do hit OK within that program upon completion. Hey there! I've been wanting to spice up my airport sceneries in FSX and was wondering if anyone had links to freeware airport sceneries (specifically large airports but smaller ones are fine too). I've been researching and found some groups who provide really nice demos without any time-limits such as Drzewiecki Design and UK2000 to name a few. I've been trying to find more companies that provide wonderful demo sceneries. I've learned that ImagineSim used to provide demos but not anymore. Are there websites that still provide demos for Imagine sim and are there other companies that provide wonderful demos for FSX? Thanks in advance!

I have a large number of Megascenery Earth scenery add-ons and it is awesome when flying across multiple states. When I start a flight, it takes a lot of time for the scenery files to download. I am wanting to use FS Instant Approach to practice ILS approaches at KAMA. When I complete an approach and want to repeat, it has to go through the scenery download again before I can repeat the approach. My question here is how can I turn off the large scenery download and just use the FSX scenery as it is faster and besides the scenery is not important when doing ILS flights. Will I have to uncheck all of the scenery add-ons in the scenery library. Thanks for any help you …

Dear all, I hope this questions might be in the correct section - I didn´t see another matching one... I am trying to find a KGRB scenery. The one in the Avsim Library is great, but I have this issue with "having no walls" in the terminal building, where the gangways are. The whole building looks like a carport. A roof, but no walls. The rest of the scenery is fine. Then I bought Megaearthscenery Wisconsin. But the included scenery for KGRB was..... well, not quite nice. I updated the Garmin trainer to the latest version.. Now the F1 GTN 750 is telling me that the database version is not compatible. What do I need to do? THANKS
