Is there a way to better simulate RPM drop while operating on single magneto; for example, during engine run-up procedures? A2A (C172, PA28) and RealAir (B60) correctly simulate an RPM decrease, whereas Carenado aircraft (F33A, T210M, C206, etc) do not appear to decrease RPM on single mag. I've reviewed aircraft.cfgs, but can not locate any mag entries. Les Parson

I was looking in FSUIPC for a way of setting up reverse thrust since I've got an extra throttle control. Is there another way to set it up?

Hello all. I keep doing a flight in the pmdg 737 ngx or any aircraft for that matter and on odd times it will crash which will then force vpilot to give me this messege. It happens more on the pmdg than the a320 by aerosoft. By this point my CPU has pretty much gone to 100% when it has crashed. Sometimes it just freezes and you can only hear the sounds. I have no option but to ctrl alt del. I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me through this error as it is actually a real problem. Hi Guys, Not sure if this has come up before. I have the TSS 747GE engine soundpack and for me, climb/cruise is very unrealistic. Especially in cruise, it would be nice to hear mostly wind noise, almost cancelling out the "buzzsaw" engine noise. Anyone have any fixes to this? Thanks, Chris

Hi All, I am trying to do my ppl and want to try on fsx most of the time and have a great quality image. Can you please share your system specs you are running ? I am running athlon x2 2 core 3200 mhz overclocked to 3400 mhz , 8gb ram at 800mhz and gtx 650 with 2gb of ram (1000mhz gpu) but the graphic doesn't look great on highest spec. I have rex and activesky but again the quality is bad compared to some videos i have seen on youtube. for great graphic does cpu matter the most or gpu? any advise is much appreciated regards

Hi Folks. I've just upgraded from FS9 to FSX. When in Virtual Cockpit mode in FS9 I could use the 'roller' switch on my mouse along with the shift and ctrl keys to zoom in and out and move the cockpit from side to side. FSX isn't doing that, and as I have 3 screens with Matrox, I need to be able to move the VC about like I was able to in FS9. Please don't tell me FSX can't do it :huh: Thanks John

Hi all, I made 2 different scenery.cfg files : one for Daytime flying with all Night Environment packages disabled and the other for Nighttime flying with all NE packages enabled. Also I made 2 batch files : Daytime and Nighttime. Those batch files copy the appropriate scenery.cfg file into C;\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX However after switching the ground- and object textures are black . Only water looks ok. After switching and starting up FSX I do not get the message about new scenery file indexes. Where did I go wrong here ? What did I forget ?

hi all I don't know whether there is a fix to this, must while I am flying at say 30k feet over a cloud layer all of a sudden the clouds disappear and it is blueskies! then from blueskies to cloudy again there is no gradual change, I have the opusfsx weather and got all the necessary boxes ticked however this still happens, is there any solution to this?

In FS9 it used to be possible to restrict visibility under different weather scenarios using the 'visibilty' tab in FSUIPC. However I don't think this works properly in FSX. Does anyone know if such general restricted visibility can be achieved using another programme? Cheers, Stuart

I have the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro for FSX, and when ever I turn the joystick in any way, shape, or form my frames go from 50FPS down to 8.5FPS and I have no idea why. I realized I never updated to win 8.1 from windows 8. FSX runs fine on 8, minus the expected bugginess, and so my question before I update is are there any new issues with FSX?

Hello forum, first time I post here and I didn't know where to post it so I apologize. My specs are: i7 4770k OC @ 4.1 Asus GTX770 2Gb OC 16gb Ram How can I make my FSX sharp? Hey guys, without any warning my main storrage HDD with more than 200 GB of fully tweaked FSX installation died yesterday. I´ve now got a new WD 1 TB drive ready in use. Thank god my Windows was on it´s own SSD so the system is unaffected. Currently some specialists trying to get at least my 100GB of pictures from teh last 3,5 years saved...Wish me luck! Anyway, onto the main thing: Now I have to rebuild the whole FSX from the ground, and this time I plan to do it more structured than before (it was quite a mess). Interested in the Saab 340 for a long time, and never found one that was up to any real FSX standard. It even includes variants of the Saab 2000. The deal is out there and is less than $20. Do any of you have it? Recommend it? I tried ordering it but could not get the "download" version even though they say it's available. I always seem to get into the version that they want to mail to me. If you would comment on this, and let me know if you were able to get the download version, I would be appreciative of your advice on this. Stan

Hi , After months of happy flying a while back I noticed there was a reduction in the amount of global autogen and scenery around , for example , after a departure out of luton all I could see was fields ,which is incorrect I would usually see alot of trees and houses. I hadn't noticed any problem apart from that as I was only flying in the UK and for the airports I fly at I have UK2000 scenery which was working fine. I had then noticed at WSSS ,which had default scenery, all airport terminals where gone apart from jetways which where floating. I tried other default airports and they where the same. I'm looking at purchasing EFB in FSX, and I was wondering if any user could answer this: Does EFB eat up VAS leading to OOM when used alongside the PMDG 777, and add scenery? So far I've used the B777 with only one short frozen screen, but I am concerned that this add on, may cause frequent freezes due to VAS limitations rob martn

Hi - I'm using the Q400 in FSX and noticed that after the recent update when I use the wing views, the weather clears. In other words, it could be cloudy and low visibility out of the VC but if I change to a wing view the weather goes clear and unlimited visibility. I use ASN and have been for a while but never had this issue prior to the update. Anyone else having this problem?? Thanks! Eric

I'm experiencing a very weird problem I've never noticed. While flying just a few minutes from the starting airport the quality of the textures decreses exponentially. I've tried to research this problem on google (probably the most relevant resource I found is this) but it didn't quite did the trick for me. Please give a look at the screenshot provided (taken on a flight from KGRB to 88WI) I have fsx sp2 + utx + rex. Any ideas?

Hi Friends, Just purchased VTBS from Simmarket of AA Sceneries but encountered a problem Fisrt, I experience bumpy grounds around parking apron area, similar to taxing on dirt. Second, I do not see shadows on runways and taxiways. I see shadows at gate area (not in apron approaching the gates) and outside of runway zone. Then asked to Support reply was You need to read the manual. Please delete or disable FSX_property_layer.bgl out or change it to .bak. You will get shadow but now rain effect. Now i am confused where is this file located or can be disabled. Please can you help me Guys. Best Regards

Hi guys & hope you well I just need to know something, I am understood that if you have a 60 refresh rate monitor----> then you need to set it to 1/2 in your NVI. if your screen is 120 refresh rate-----> then you need to setting up the vsynce inside the NVIDIA inspector to 1/4 , thats what I understood. Be carefully (My screen is 120--->so I use 1/4 in NVI Vsync setting and I use the fsx internal frame rate limmeter and set it to 30FPS) Now i have installed the FSX FIBER accelerator and use it correctly but i got no improvment.
