Hi everyone, I hope this is the correct sub forum for this subject since I believe it's an FSX issue, if not Mods, feel free to move where needed. For the past two years I have been running into issues where my computer is really having troubles running FSX, the past two months or so have worsened and flying into major cities or airports/mainline hubs are darn near impossible. Hey! As I'm finally extending my horizons across the atlantic I need to know a good scenery for Gander as it's where I need to stop for fuel since my aircraft is limited by range. In the past many airlines including Aeroflot made stops there very frequently so I thought this scenery would be well represented in FSX but apparently I didn't find anything. So any suggestions? (Recomendations for Shannon, Havana, Lima, Santiago would also be helpful)

When I create flight plans for FS Labs Concorde-X I can't use a conventional planner like PFPX. I need to avoid flying over land when supersonic. At the moment I'm using the inbuilt planner in FSX but it's a real pain adding custom waypoints. When I had FS9 FS Navigator was great and I'm aware that there is a FSX version - FS Tramp. Is there a freeware alternative as I only create these routes occasionally.

So I sat down in front of my PC this afternoon, fired up FSX and stared at the screen wondering what to do. Should I fire up the 777 and fly to Seattle from Kingston? Done Should I load Orbx PNW and fly around in the RealAir Legacy? Done that Should I load up the ESDG CX 2.0 and fly around the Caribbean? Done that too After 15 minutes I closed FSX. I've spent a lot of money on FSX add-on's and yet, nothing jumps out at me as something I want to do now. The only thing I'm really looking forward to right now is the MilViz P180 Avant II but that's probably 12 months away. Am I the only person to ever have this problem with summing boredom?

I was wondering how much does all the dll files that load from the DLL.XML affect VAS. I have a lot of them in my DLL.XML and I have it to ask me everytime if I want to load each and every one of them with " <ManualLoad>True</ManualLoad>" command but it becomes really tedious to click yes or no every time FSX loads. I'm just trying to minimize OOM errors. Does it make a difference or I'm being a little paranoid?

I recently installed FSX on my Windows 8.1 PC. I have a problem where the AI planes taxi to the runway holding point and wait there until they disappear. They don't ask for take-off clearance. This didn't happen on my Windows 7 PC. Also the game crashes unless I enable Preview DirectX 10. Thanks in advance.

Hi. After many years of on-and-off flight simming, I've decided to divorce my FS2004 and start dating the (not-so) new lady in town - FSX. After some bad expreinces in FS2004 over the years, in which I paid good money for products that didn't work for any reason, I've decided not to buy anything before I make absolutely sure it'll work on my PC, and so, I started researching every add-on I wished to buy for the FSX and only then I decide whether I should purchase it or not. I did some googling, and couldn't find any recent threads about this. But I'm looking for a moving map/flight tracker, that I can use on either my Android phone, or web based. I have been doing a lot of long range routes lately (777), and I would like the ability to check on my flight progress when I'm at work, or just out of the house. None of the android apps in the market specify if they require the same wifi network, or if it works over the internet. Any suggestions are very much welcome. Thanks in advance. -Tony@PVD

Hello, i try to configure my enbseries.ini at the moment. Im looking for the effect, that when i look outside the window, the brightness is automatically reduced and the panels look very dark. When i look on my panels, the brightness should be turned up again. Very hard to descripe with my poor english I hope you can understand what i mean. SibWings SAAB Safir was the first payware plane I bought (I think) so it has a special place in my simming heart. Except that it is a pretty good and quality addon, but with very bad engine soundset. Well I decided to go to YouTube and capture the best possible cockpit recording and do a realistic freeware soundset. So, today FSX randomly would not load past the splash screen for me. It would load for a while, and then just as it is about to finish loading (I know because I have an addon that makes a window with some text pop up in the last few seconds of loading), the splash screen closes without bringing me to the main FSX menu. Here are some fixes I tried: -I installed FS9 yesterday and have not used FSX since. I uninstalled FS9, but there was no change. -I downloaded and tried fsxlogrecovery11.zip. Hi to all,i have and I3 4360 (3,70GHZ) with 8GB RAM and GTX750OC.My fsx performs not bad at all (i get 30 fps in some addons airports and fluctuating from 24-25 to 30-35 fps sometimes).I have a tweaked bojote´s FSX.cfg Recentrly i decided to get a brand new I7 (4790 at 3.6GHZ up to 4.00ghz when in turboboost mode).The surprises was after install the new i7 my fsx performs bad,(with the i3 i get better frames).Now with i7 y have 15-18fps. I tried to tweak affinity mask to 14 and some other values,i tried to disable HT on BIOS and check a lot of parameters but without good results. Finally i decided to put i3 again and the system goes into 30-35fps range again. …

So I've gotten most of my other issues cleared up with fsx crashing, and my display settings but I'm still having one major issue. Flying at night is nearly impossible. It's like I can't see any lights at all, on the ground or in the airport. I did a flight to LAX last night and a flight to DFW tonight on VATSIM and I couldn't even get in on a visual approach because nothing is lit up. I'm talking like there's no lights to see until on a 3 mile final. I'm not sure if it's an issue with them not loading or what but this shouldn't be an issue on my 4790k. The odd thing is, if I switch to wing view the lighting looks a lot better. Any ideas?

Hello, I have a need to run FSX with EZCA & FSUIPC in a new admin user account. On launching FSX, EZCA will also attempt to launch with an error. This works fine in the other user account. In short, the problem is add ons for FSUIPC and EZCA either do not launch or an Add-On menu is not available. SO TWO ISSUES: 1) When launching FSX, EZCA attempts to launch but fails with the error: Ezdok camera addon Unable to write to C:\Users\sim\AppData\Roaming\EZCA\db\general.INI. 2) The Add-On menu doesn’t appear in this new user account. Hi everyone, Lately I've become more and more tired of the various high-tech navigational devices found in most modern aircraft, and increasingly enjoy flying classic aircraft of the 1930's and 40's period. So I was wondering if there are any that are considered "must-have" ones for FSX/P3D. I am about to purchase PFPX and was wondering if it has a "gate loader" functionality. In FS9 I would use FSBuild and then gatekeeper to ensure that when I loaded the flightplan in FS9 start menu, I would be at the appropriate gate. For addon airports, payware etc., I recall I had to move the AFCAD.bgl into the addon scenery folder, so that gatekeeper would recognize the appropriate and respective airline gates. How do you make the flightplan load and position the aircraft at the correct gate using PFPX within FSX? Thanks! Rich Perry

I was running Opus fine in FSX DX10 and decided to test it in Prepar3d 2.3. I clicked the bullet under the configuration to point Opus to the correct path for Perpar3d and when I try to start Opus I get a Configuration Error as follows: Could not find a part of the path 'E:\Prepar3d\Weather\themes\OpusWeather.wt'. I checked that folder for the missing file and sure enough it was missing. I found a file by the same name in the parallel path of my FSX install and copied it into the Prepar3d folder, but still could not start OPUS and got the same the warning message. I also found a file by the same name in the C:\OpusFSX directory and tried copying that one into …

anyone here had successfully disabled the head movement/momentum effect in the virtual cockpit? i find it troublesome to reset the eyepoint after i kicked in a hard rudder left or right.i edited the fsx.cfg file and changed all values in the [dynamicheadmovement] section to 0 and also [momentum_effect] in cameras.cfg to false, but i still get the movements in the virtual cockpit.would greatly appreciate if somebody could share if they had managed to disable them :)

Hi all, I'm planning to do a cross country flight in FSX from New York to Washington in the coming weeks. I was hoping to find some recommendations for a good GA plane to use for cross-country flying, especially as I'm looking to make many stops and take scenic routes. I'm looking at the Carenado V35B Bonanza and am also considering the larger Carendao PA32R 301 Saratoga SP (to give my virtual friends and family more leg room, haha). But I'm open to any and all suggestions. Are there any planes you like or would recommend specifically for cross-country flying (or even in general). Google doesn't seem to have much. Is it simply a redundancy thing so if one fails the other would be available to use? Just guessing.

What's the best way to control the nozzles from vertical to horizontal flight without having to look in the cockpit ? I tried it and it's very hard to do when you take your eyes from outside to inside and still maintain control. Thanks
