Hi, I have a problem with my FSX. If I run it in DirectX 9 mode, I often see the desktop in loading screen (looks like here: http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/ktcf-4-a87f-png.html). Then, if loading is finished, nothing appears. If I press Alt + Enter, I get a black screen, but I can open the menu and hear the sound. Just sometimes it works, but then it crashes if i try to open the menu or save the game. In DirectX 10 mode everything starts, but I have artifacts and not every addon works. recently fsx has been very laggy i dont really think its always been like that, what could be the problem? it lags even when i try lowering some of the settings. i have a fairly mid-high end laptop: DELL INSPIRON 15R SE windows 8.1 64bit intel 3632qm 2.2-3.2ghz 8gb ram radeon hd 7730m

So I've gotten my sim running smooth now and the only thing I have purchased is the Wilco CRJ nextgen series. I am ready to take fsx to the next enjoyment level by making some environment upgrades. Right now I'm just doing a lot of low level regional flying at and below 18,000 on shorter flights. I'm not sure which add-on would yield the best enjoyment first for this. Rex, ORBX, or accu-feel? Or maybe a whole airport scenery? There are also so many variations of each I don't know where to start. I probably won't be doing much flying any time soon out of the North America area.

Does anyone use tropicalsim airports? If so does it make a big fps hit, and are the terminals depicted nicely? rob

Dear Simmers, Do you have any thoughts, experience with Suppresion Flight Wet Operations vs. FSFX PrecipitFX. Both cost roughly the same. PrecipitFX is newer development and have more effects, e.g. contrails, wingtip vortices. What about performacne and FPS drop? Keep flying, Bart

Hello guys, since a long time now, I have a problem which I can’t solve: Massive frame drops! Those drops occurring when I am on some sceneries (like Fly Tampa OMDB or Skiathos from 29 Palms) and when I am turning my view. Then the frames droping down to 14 FPS and after a few seconds they are jumping back to the target of 34 FPS. This is independent of the aircraft I use. It occurs if I select a PMDG aircraft or a standard FSX aircraft. It seems like the scenery takes its time to reload or something. But I haven’t experienced this problem with my old sandy bridge cpu. I am having problems with OpusFSX v3.36.1 and Prepar3D v2. Running OpusFSX causes Prepar3D v2 to crash at the new FSX-like startup screen. It happens whether I run OpusFSX before or after running Prepar3D. I have uninstalled and reinstalled OpusFSX, checked that the dll and exe files in the OpusFSX folder all have the same date, made sure that I have only one installation of OpusFSX, downloaded the Prepar3D v2 SDK and copied the Simconnect.xml file from the SDK to my User/Appdata/Roaming/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3D v2 folder (the same folder where the Prepar3D.cfg file resides), and disabled update weather at startup all to no avail. I really don't know where to go for help, so here I am. Every flight I take, England, Europe, West Coast US, East coast US, night or day! There will be a light foggy looking haziness to the scenery at any altitude; clear or cloudy. I have had issues with this for a long time and have never really overcome it. I took a few months break to clear my head but it still seems to be foggy (my head also). Evening Gents. I having a problem when flying into CYYZ. Im using CYYZ from Blueprint (couldnt find a support forumn) and i get overlapping scenery as below with the urban areas. The other issue I get is if i fly from CYVR to CYYZ the scenery totally overlaps with the airport over the runways etc etc. It doesnt happen if i fly from any other airport apart from CYVR. The scenery I have installed is as follows. ftx global ftx pnw ftx crm fsdreamteam cyvr blueprint cyyz utimate terrain canada, usa and europe ground environment usa and canada. cheers as always

Hi all, I'm try to find out if there is a way to create an overlay on Google Earth, showing my FS flight history. For example, if I did a flight from KJFK to EGLL, i would like Google earth to show a line connecting the two airports. Then, if I departed EGLL for OMDG, another line would show. Eventually, there would be a many lines connecting many airports. Any ideas?

Hi, I just tried to convert a FS9 scenery airport of Gothenburg from swedflight into P3D v2.3 by Model Converter X but Im not succesfull yet. I converted the bgl´s to FSX bgl files and tried to add them to the scenery folder but nothing changes in the sim. I also tried to convert it by MDL files but still no success? Is there any chance to get the scenery working into P3D ?

Hello, I'm thinking about buying a good flight planner for FSX. But I want something not over extreme in complexity, where I don't have to spend 50 minutes to preflight. I understand that's part of simulation but I can't do that every time. Also I mainly fly the PMDG MD-11 Cargo verison. I use to just use the free simroutes web site to get my rte flight plan files for the MD-11 but that site as not been working at all. I liked it because it was simple but it doesn't work anymore for PMDG. I have REX but that program's flight planner does not covert to rte files. FS build from I have seen is old and my not work with my Windows 7-64bit computer or the MD-11. I …

Good day After an extended hiatus due to military service I found my runways were "shimmering" and the default taxi guide no longer operated. I also noticed the shadows from the AC appeared off and on. I disabled the directed X and it helped some. I did install a 3rd party airport add on, but would it affect everything else? Thanks Gary

Hey anyone using the TDS 737NGs? The models are good but the FDE is another case... It takes off like a rocket... even with the latest FDEs and I'm not even using full thrust. Anyone has this problem too?

Just re-installed FSX after a new system build. But when trying to activate it, which I find an anachronistic as they no longer support Flight Sims, and AFAIK, have dismantled their links to Flight Sims, and yet they hold sway on activation. And why should I have to go through all this stupid nonsense when I have purchased the FSX Gold disks? It's like buying a Chevvy outright for cash and each time you carry out an oil change, you have to get the ignition software released by activating it with GM! Just does not make logical sense. I've been playing around with the IRIS T-6 Texan II lately and the head pan rate is waaaaay toooo sloooow. How can I adjust it to something more fluid?

Hi. Been long time since I post here or use simulator for that matter. I miss my beloved fsx and had to remove when I formatted computer. After several months, I now am able to get back to where I left off. However, I have run into big problem: The drive where I do my installs, has decided to stop working. I tried everything. So is there another way to do the install? I know it will probally be suggest to get external drive, but I wanted to see first. I'm running windows vista and the computer has plenty of power to handle my flight simming. Thank you kindly.

I've found that many of the (military) jet models I have in my hanger seem to fall short of their 'At Altitude' maximum speed (mach) and often fail to even reach their ceiling, while at the same time, often exceed their speed ratings at sea level. I've looked at airfile parameters and tables and don't see anything that might offer the casual designer or user a means to fix this characteristic properly (seems you can have it one way or the other, but not both). Is it just me or is this a general problem in FSX or with FDE designs? Is there a way to address this without resorting to custom C++ code in the bowels of some DLL?
