I am new to sims and got all set up for a Hotstart TBM900 on X-Plane when I decided I wanted to learn the Phenom 300. But I discovered the Carenando Phenom 300 is not compatible with XPlane or FS2020. So it appears I need to replace XPlane with FSX to get the Carenando product BUT, there are warnings about no SIDs, STARs, or ARRIVALs(!) so I am wondering what is really there. If anyone has personal experience with the Phenom 100 or 300 on a home flight sim, and can help a senior get things set up correctly I would be most appreciative. I have a Brunner yoke, TQ6 quadrant and TPR rudder and good PC. Thank you.

TLDR: The red numbers in the jpg are the bottom line percentage performance gains. I wanted FS2020 but had a good inkling it would most likely be a bit of a mess on release so I waited for feedback before purchasing. IMO sure enough, seeing how 1/2 done FS2020 currently is, and how it will be for a while, I have not yet purchased it and won't until the study sim tubeliners are sorted. So instead, seeing as though I have hundreds of $$$ invested in FSX, I decided it was finally time for me to upgrade and see if I can stretch FSX's legs a bit more. Hi all, I've come back to flight simming world, last summer Iris put all their software up for free which i gladly got. I've come back now to redownload them and see that they have change their website design (i dont know if that has anything to do what I'm about to explain). I was able to download and run the files before hand on Iris but now each time i download them and try to open the zip or run the application from winRAR, it either says its invalid or corrupt. I've tried to email Iris but they haven't responded to my email i sent about two weeks ago now 😞 . Can anyone please help me??

I start FSX SE ok. I pick the aircraft, airport,etc. click ok and then the Loading Terrain Data Pop up stays on 6%, that's it. Prior to that I did install Ezdok on the D Drive, that may be the cause. I have everything that is FSX SE on my D Drive, and everything that is PREPARED is on my C Drive.

Hi, A few days ago I added a second monitor (a Sony TV set). What I 'd like to know is whether the addition of a second monitor has any effect on system's hardware performance and FSX. Thanks for your time.

Hello all, After a bit of forum searching with no results I'm posting this question. Odd display issue here. The ATI 5570 graphics card (1 gb vram) in my computer failed and until I either do an oven-based reflow on it or buy a replacement I installed the machine's original Geforce 7300 GT (256 mb vram) back into the computer. But now when I try to run FSX, I get no gauges on any aircraft and the gauge locations on the panels (2d & 3d) are transparent. I also reset all the display settings to their minimums, no change. Hi All, I am somewhat newish to FSX I played it years ago and want to get back in to it, the AI and maybe then upgrade the sim since I just bought a new PC. I was fine at adding Ai aircraft in to FS2004, I used to make them all "visible" to check I had installed them properly before installing the traffic file. In FSX I am really struggling to get them to show, and I have either missed something, or its just not possible. I decided to start by installing airlines that fly in to my closest airport, so in alphabetical order Aegean ended up first. I've done all these things but still it tells me it can't connect with the server, although my cable Internet is working very well for everything else. Any more suggestion would be very welcome.

I know its not realistic but sound is a huge part of the atmosphere. For examples, FSPassengers only has its canned ATC chatter and passenger loading ambient sounds heard when inside the VC. Or the landing gear whine and thud I'd like to hear when in Spot View. I know the Concorde X has a check box in its special Options pull down menu that allows for this called "Play Sounds in Ext Views". I find this a very nice feature. Is there a cfg setting or tweak that allows cockpit sounds to be heard in outside views for other planes?

Hi - I'm wondering if anyone's ever created a utility that, for example, given a departure airport and a radius, can pick an airport randomly within that radius?Or, pick two towered airports within a given distance, but not -too- close?Thanks,Andrew

Hello I am still at fsx and wondering if there is a good a330 for fsx. I really like the Aerosoft A330 but unfortunately it is not for FSX. Does anyone of you know a good a330 or if aerosoft will release an A330 for fsx?

I just started the game specifically for the lessons it has and got stuck 2 minutes into lesson #1. It’s where the game shows on screen: Rod is flying: Check the trim control under the heading indicator. Before that, Rod mentions you can pause and unpause the lessons. I pressed pause and unpause (P) and fiddled with the trim wheel via the mouse but the lesson doesn’t proceed. I see one or two posts about this from 2009 or so but didn’t find a solution. Any ideas?

I’ve got a plan for (unfashionably) reviving my FSX instal, and I’d be very grateful for your advice. I stopped flying FSX a couple of years ago when a temporary house move meant I had to leave my cockpit behind. Last September I built a new PC in anticipation of MSFS 2020. Is there any way to do holding patterns using default gps. I already know how to execute a holding pattern manually but I want the GPS to automate it. I searched stuff about this but they are outdated from 2006. Is there any new way to do an unpublished holding pattern using the default fsx gps system?

hello i have a very strange problem in the qw787. what happes is that the plane starts to move even when the throttle are at idle. I have to set up the parking brakes all the time to stop it. Does anyone have a solution to this. any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi everyone, Recently I got A2A redux lights (they look amazing af), buuuut, as usual, a problem occured and persist. I configured my planes manually, I added a landing light on the landing gear, but after take-off, when I'm retracting the gear, the light seems to be still there under the plane floating in it's way with the A/C during all flight time. When using DD KEWR with GSX, the GSX module won't recognize a heavy aircraft parked at any of the typical heavy aircraft gates at EWR terminal C (usually gates C71-75, C85 C108, C110, C112, C120...etc), which won't allow the GSX services to dock with a heavy aircraft parked at any of those gates. Any help/hints/tricks to remedy this would be greatly appreciated!

Greetings all, I have FSX SE installed on my computer and I fly with it. However, I am trying to work on some scenery designs and would like to use Flight1's Instant Object software. I tired to install it and use it with FSX SE, but it didn't like the some of the files, and long story short, it corrupted by FSX SE install to where I had to re-install it. I would like to install FSX Gold Edition, and install SP1 and SP2, to use just with some of the scenery design tools like instant object that may not play well with FSX SE. Is it possible to install both FSX and FSX SE...on different drives... and not have them interfere with each other or with other addons? …

Hi there, Today I decided to do an ils autoland. I takeoff from Dublin and head to EGSS, London stansted. I have no ifr, I was using the gps and set up a route at the gate while I was preparing other stuff. When it was coming near to the landing I start to descend and then I choose the runway. I chose ils 23, vector, and I think the pink line appears on the other runway( runway 5, but I'm not sure), and then 2 lines that look like circles come up and I ignore it, then I set up my ils, my radio nav 1 frequency and my course.
