Hi,Has anyone tinkered with the panel.cfg on this one to dim the cockpit night lighting a bit?I fly it from the VC, and in my opinion, the lighting is way too bright in the nightime, like trying to fly with all lights switched on in the room.In the PSS Airbus the lights can be switched off so that only the gauges are lighted, but in the Falcon it's opposite, flicking the pnl light switch turns off all gauge lights, but the panel bitmaps stay lighted, like having a cockpit flood light on.If you've succeeded in this, please give me some hints.

For some reason I have stopped getting any sound from FS2002. When using Realone Player or Windows Media Player all is OK. I have the sound box ticked in Flight Simulator. Any help greatly appreciated.

Could any of you post a screenshot of FS2002, with AA and AF on, and another with it off, i wanna know how good the sims looks with AA and AF with max settings. My stupid intel integrated don't support tnl or AA, and i'm upgrading to a 2200+, leadtek nforce2, 512mb pc2700 ddr, and radeon 9500 or ti4200 next week. Have you had any problems with FS, ya radeon owners?

I will be building my new system in a few weeks. I will be getting a ATI Radeon 9700 Pro which supports two monitors. Currently I have a 17" CRT monitor. I have an old 14" monitor I'm going to hook up as the second one.I don't think the 14" can run as high resolution and refresh as my 17", so can the two monitors run at different resolutions and refresh rates?Eventually I'm going to get a 15" and 17" LCD. I want to display the main view on the 17" and the panel on the 15". The LCD display plug into the DVI port correct? What do you do if you have two LCD displays and the card only has one DVI port?

Hi there I need help with getting some things to work on paul Golding's great MD-80 panel. the Nav radios will not work as won't the ALT hold switch, thje VS adjustment- are there any patches available to make this panel work properly with fs2002??

I know that the latest drivers are not nec the best BUT for a P4 1.7 with GeForce4 and 512DDR RAM, which Nvidia driver will be the best one ...? Some suggest 29.42 other's the Detonator drivers but I've found the Detonator to be slower than the 29.42.Any advice will be welcomed.Laat waaiTerblanche

Has anyone solved the CH Pro Pedals go to sleep every five minutes problem? After using these Pro Pedals for about two years with WinMe, without any problems whatsoever, the pedals suddenly go to sleep after upgrading,(?), from WinMe to WinXP. WinXP may be the worst mistake I have made. lots of problems, my HP Professional printer will not print duplex, (double sided), under WinXP, I finally got my E-Dimensional glasses to work after going through nearly every driver in the net's inventory :)and pulling nearly all my hair out, Scanner will not work ever again :(But worse than all of that my Pro Pedals go to sleep. How is MSFS configured so that in "Create a Flight" the flight/aircraft is started with the engine(s) off. I've checked the Help Section and can't find an answer. Any advive would be appreciated.

Still fighting a stuttering problem within FS-ATC (only). About to remove FS2002 and reinstall for 2nd time. Stupid question, but since my stutter problem is with ATC files only (both pilot & controller .wav's) I thought it best to dbl. check that these files were in-fact removed, before the reinstall. So into MS Games / Flight Sim / etc. .... and I cannot locate all the .wav files for ATC ?? Found all the "lesson" files, but where are the ATC files stored ??Thanks for direction - sorry if too elementary a question.......Ron

How come when i fly online all the other air craft look like the one i'm flying. Did i miss something along the way???

When flying the Dash-8, I use the autopilot (without using the FMC). It seems that I cannot set both Altitude Hold and IAS at the same time.For example, I have altitude hold set but later set IAS. Then the IAS setting kicks in but it seems to override the altitude hold and the plane starts to descend? Is this a limitation of the autopilot, something I am doing wrong, or a bug in the program? How do I set both altitude hold and IAS at the same time?

Hello fellow simmers,I am a real fan of scale and realism. But, here is an area where I need to compromise.I would like to see a bit more over the nose on a couple of my aircrafts. I know I can lift the seat by clicking the keys but, I find this anoying after a while specially if busy on short final. Yes, I am also lazy. I would like to make this automatic (permanent). I read a long time ago, that the aircraft.cfg could be modified so that the view over the nose is a tad higher. Well, after trying virtually *everything* to get my cable conn to allow me to register for the Avsim forums, I repeated some simple steps (reset the modem and setup a new internet conn through internet connection wizard) it just magically started working! Yay! Unfortunately, I have to go to work now so I can't enjoy the fruits of my labor but I shall return around 12 pm CST tonight and post like mad! ;)

One of the frustrations for non-US users of FS2k2 is it's lack of a truly 'local feel' to flying. It's not just that all the default AI aircraft fly with N regs (we can change that with great progs like TrafficTools), but many other things.Being only use to the UK's airspace I can only comment on one country but I have noticed things like:1: Lack of 'foreign accents' in the ATC voices.2: Could we have the option of choosing 'millibars' instead of 'inches of mercury' for altimeter setting.3: Could we choose to have ATC say 'QNH'for those altimeter readouts and could 'local circuits' be changed from 'closed traffic' and possibly 'QFE' given.4: Other ATC local usuage like -w…

Last night I prepared to fly Paris-Tel Aviv using an A320... after pushback, I joined a line-up of AI traffic all taxiing out to the end of the active runway as per ATC instructions... However, the entire lineup simply stalled at one point after a few planes had been givem clearance to leave. I was about 6th back and sat there tuned to the tower waiting... and nothing happened except for a huge traffic jam of Ai planes building behind mehas anyone else had this happen?? Due to an OS crash, I replaced my Win'98 with Win'2000. In some ways, it's better: it seems like higher frames, and graphics seem smoother (except perhaps more jittering with VC cockpits). I'm still trying to optimize the display - I was having patches of black textures on some planes and ground scenery but am getting this under control. The problem is system crashes - far more frequent that 98 which might have 1 of 10 sessions crash somehow (the system; not my plane!) In Win 2000, 9 of 10 sessions end by crashing - sometimes this seems related to switching between views too quickly, but that's not always it. Any ideas? It's an AMD 850 with a 32-M Nvidia G-Force. …

I've done this b4 and that is what makes this sooo frustrating.I think its the file that goes into the main directory. I totally forget the name of it. Without it all my traffic, even default disappears. And I think it is contained on disk 1.Thank you everyone.
