I use Paintshop pro currently and I am really getting the hang of this. My question involves alpha channels. Right now the only way I know to do an alpha channel is to get the bitmap the way i want and then use dxtbmp to generate the alpha greyscale image, and I then edit it to have the reflectivity I want. If i then want to re-edit the non reflective bitmap It seems I have to redo the alpha channel every time. There has to be a way to save the alpha channel, but I just dont see that yet and haven't asked the question. I am guessing it has something to do with layers but im just not sure. What about this idea:Each team gets $100 dollars and the team that reaches the furthest distance wins. Fuel needs to be bought at actual prices, using airnav.com. Screenshots indicate the amount of fuel used. Landings made after at least 50 miles are flown are awarded $10.This type of race would not require constant forum monitoring since time is not relevant. You might even wait a few hours at an airport to get favourable winds. Engine management becomes more important to keep the fuel flow low.Any comments?

Is it possible to get rid of that thing in FS2002 that makes it so the Wing-leverler is always on when the autopilot is on, because its really annoying?

I know for most of you guys here in the forum, you've had snow for quite a while, but down here in Arkansaw, it's really our first snow of the year. how do i delete default flight plans? i've tried using AI Traffic Mover, but the program just dosent work!! is there any other way to do this?

On my backup PC, whenever I press , it gives me an "a" with an accent. This makes it hard to do a lot of the DOS functions. How can I turn this off? Regional settings or something like that? It's running Win98SE.

I've been wondering what Real Air Sim are working on now? I haven't heard anything from them since the release of the SF.260.Does anyone know if they are working on any new projects? I've had a look on their site and I can't find anything about future releases?

Hi all,I have just rediscovered my love of fs2002. I have decent system, AMD xp2000, 512MB with a 64MB GeForce2 ultra, and I went out and bought a new videocard. After reading some of the messages here I decided on the GeForce4 ti4200 64MB card. All I can say is wow! Now I didn't get many more FPS but I didn't lose any. Can anyone give me insight on generating AI Traffic in FS2002?I had a new computer built with 1.8 mhz processor and 1 Gig of ram. I have a nvidia gforce 4 graphic card.I have set my ATC traffic to 100%, scenery complexity to extemely dense, dynamic scenery to very dense, resolution is at 1024 x 768 x32.The only aircraft that I have so far that show up is Wilson's, [email protected] & Demmerle, [email protected], A-26 Invader for FS2002. They are great aircraft but I would like to have others also in my traffic. I have already loaded Lee Swordy's Traffic tools and generated numerous flight plans but I am only getting this aircraft to fly from Phoenix…

I have the following problem..I run FS on a windows 2000 platform with directx 8.0 installed.I also have a geforce 4 TI 4200, great piece of hardware by the way :)Now when I turn on anti aliasing and tri linear bit mapping I think it was in FS some things go wrong. The graphics are all weird and when pressing the ALT key the menu bar does not appear. Its really weird. Matt Smith organized the contest which pitted the forum users of AVSIM and FlightSim.com in a race around the world. The contest tested the planning, airmanship, and most clearly the enthusiasm of the two forums. I've just purchased the Vans DC-9 pack this morning. I've found myself gravitating towards the older jets lately, and a pack containing the entire DC-9 family was just too hard to resist :) Although I live in the UK I'm a closet Northwest fan, and the Vans package contains all of NWA's DC-9s.Anyway, I've just been experimenting by aliasing Flight 1 DC-9 panel with the Vans aircraft. Here's my current pc configuration:P4 2.53ASUS P4PE MB (which supports 3.06 and higher with hyper-threading)512MB PC2700 DDR RAMATI Radeon 9700 Pro video cardThis is much more than I really need except, of course, for FS2002 which would be nice with say a P4 5.0. My question to you all is this: do you think it would be worth exchanging my P4 2.53 for a 3.06 for $400? $350? $300? I just have no feel whatsoever how much that .5GHz would buy me in FS2002. I think there would be a significant benefit in going from a 700GHz to a 1.2, for example, but I just don't know whether going from a 2.5 to a 3.0 is worth the bucks. All opinions are welcome.

Downloaded files PIPRJ3MM and J3CUB_02 extracted Piprj3mm file into fs2002 aircraft folder and extracted the files aircraft.cfg and j3cub.air from j3cub_02 and replaced them in the fs2002etc fsd2 file . The plane won't come up on aircraft list in fs2002. I had another version of PIPRJ3MM from manuel Mendez with an update that came up in aircraft plane list under change aircraft but it only had compass on panel. (can't fine where I got that file to download again.) any help will be appreciated, if anyone has j3cub flying in FS2002. Thanks Chuck
