I've searched the forum but couldn't find an answer so forgive me if this has been covered...I've just replaced (upgraded?) my Geforce 3 with the 9700Pro.Although the AA and anisotropic filtering is great why does the textures on building at airports take so long to appear (up to 20seconds at Manchester, UK for instance - which is like, forever!)Also even with no AA and anis. I've had to turn the graphics detail down to get the same FR as the Geforce.I've tried:1. changing AGP aperture in the BIOS with no difference2. made sure that in dxdiag AGP texture acceleration is enabled (after card install this was set to disabled by default - how is one supposed to know that!!!)2…

Anyone know of or heard if the Non Precision approaches will work for offset runways for AI traffic? For example the LDA approach into 26L HNL which requires ye old crank n bank at about 2DME.. it would be interesting to see if it can or will be done...Chris

After LONG negotiations with the wife, it has been decided that I am allowed to buy 2 items for my birthday this coming week. I am going to buy another payware aircraft but I am going to have to t decide between the DF Cardinal and the FSD Commander. I like the way the FSD Commander looks (I have always liked the Commander!!) but the Cardinal is available now :-lol One of my birthday gifts is IL-2 Forgotten Battles (so there is one gift right there!) then I have to decide between the FSD Commander and the DF Cardinal.....arghh!!!FSD release the Commander SOON!!!!!! When i try to view a texture bmp when installing a new plane texture i get -"drawing failed".I try -open with-paint-windows picture viewer-xn view,none will show a picture ,what software is best for viewing bmp'sthanks Don

I try to create a flight from Paris to Milano and in theFlight Planner I state that it is a IFR flight.But after starting the flight ATC assumes I'm going on VFR flight.I encountered this problem after successfulle makingother IFR flights. I don't see why it won't work now.

Hello All!I have been thinking about purchasing a weather generation program, and I thought I would consult with the "experts" before making a move. I have checked out FSMeteo, Weather Center, and Active Sky, and with the exception of a few features here and there, they all seem to do about the same thing. Does anybody have a favorite, or can anyone recommend one of these? I have used the built-in "real-world-weather" feature in FS2002, but have not always been pleased with the results. Hello all,I just downloaded the new IFDG 757 AA livery (2-25) and absolutely love it. However I am having a lighting issue, the aircraft has flexing wings but the lights do not mat up with the wings (they stay in the unflexed position. Anybody got a fix for this?? I looked in IFDG forum and their was a link there to the problem but the link no longer works..Thanks in advance!!JC

In the following message, buried now deep within another thread, Greg asked me to run the benchmark flight that he and Doug Horton worked up for FS2002.http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID8/18218.html#34I did, three times now, and get about 59 FPS with the system described in my sig. I guess that's pretty good. In an email, Greg reports getting just 30 FPS with a 2.1 Ghz P4. I'm hoping that Greg has data from other systems for the sake of comparison, as the link at simflight.com for maintaining this benchmark no longer works.Has anybody else here run the benchmark?-Basil

I have repainted Meljets 777-300 in bare metal. The textures look good during day, but the night textures show up as the day textures without the reflectiveness. This is very noticeable because of how I painted the bare metal( Scanned a piece of aluminum foil and than "cloned" the textures/colors on to the paint kit, plus painting darker pieces on the textures, to have the look of different shades of metal) Is there a way to change this?? Great site by the way.I am trying to get shiny, chrome looking surfaces on my planes and they always look off-white and barely reflective.I am running a Toshiba laptop, P4-2.5G, 512 RAM, Nvidia MX44o Go video w/64 RAM on XP home. I have great framerates and my options are at the max on all video resources, including reflections, massive textures, antialiasing, number of lights=8, mipmap is on, antitropic filter, etc, etc., they are all up at high and I have tried many, many different settings. I have downloaded several highly reflective textures/repaints from AVSIM, looked fantastic on the thumbnails but have an off-white semi-dull appearance in my game. I …

There may be a bug in FS2002.When flying the Grand Caravan I also use a small spot plane window so I can see my plane.If I size it to less than 2X3 inches, the elevators start acting like alerons. It doesn' seem to affect the operation of the plane.PROBLEM: The landing gears don't work, at the keybd or my flightsim yoke.I also can't find the landing gear lever on the panel. Anybody else notice this?Jim Alcorn
