I had to perform a system recovery on my computer and now trying to reload FS 2002. Everything loading OK until I get to Disk 3 and the Scene DB folders. Many of the CAB files will not load and I get message indicating "setup encountered a disk error while writing ... make sure your hard disk is not full and that the file is not in use." I do not have any problems reloading any other software but these files from FS. I also have plenty of space on my hard disk available. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

HI Guys, I see that a lot of you guys are using planes from real airlines (Delta, Southwest etc...) at your airports instead of the standard ones that came with FS2K2. How are you using these and what files or programs are you using? Thanks for any help.Ron

The description says "We offer these books of slightly outdated charts at a significant savings to use with flight simulator.", but how "slightly outdated" are they? It's based on WAC charts. I am searching for some info on an old program that I used to own but have since replaced with another program. It is calledProFlight 2000 and I am trying to retrieve the basic flight info for the tutorial flight sequence. Here is what I can recall from memory: TFFN -> TFFR (172/VFR) TFFR -> TAPA (172/VFR) TAPA -> TKPK (182rg/IFR) TKPK -> TIST (Lear/IFR) TIST -> TJSJ (737/IFR) TJSJ -> KMIA (777/IFR)Hopefully, some kind soul can verify/correct/add-to what I have listed. A thought has crossed my mind that, 1.- after reading that MS intends to do some code optimization in ACOF and 2.- considering that it appears that ACOF uses the basic FS2002 engine, "MAYBE" we might see that we don't need equipment upgrades to run it. Perhaps it will have "better" framerates than FS2002 . I have not seen any mention of this in the limited reviews I have read.Barry

I have an Athlon 1600+ based system, about 1 year old, with a GeForce3 Ti500 graphics card, 512MB RAM, winXP Home. I've recently put an old Matrox Millenium PCI card in to test the XP dual monitor facility and I love it. However, the old Matrox card is a bit underpowered for driving the second screen, an iiyama 19" CRT, so I'm looking to upgrade the graphics. Finding PCI graphics cards is a bit difficult nowadays and the obvious route seems to be to go for a single card that supports dual monitors. Following the installation of the sample Scenery USA (Boston) several keyboard inputs are non-responsive. Among those I've noticed thus far are: Shift+Z (frame rates, etc), Shift+Enter/Backspace (seat up/down), and the 'W' key. I uninstalled, reinstalled, and uninstalled the scenery but the functions did not return.I don't know how to resolve the problem; can any help?-GeorgeM at 5B6

This information is to help those who are thinking about upgrading their CPU in the near future. My new Athlon 2800+ processor just came in the mail at $409.00. I even came home from work early to install it because I could not get it off my mind. You talk about Flight Sim addicted!!! I find myself continually thinking about new upgrades to make in hopes of getting that ever increasing framerate boost. Well, like others before me, I'm here to tell you that frames don't come cheap. Here's the scenario that I'm facing and I need help with. I'm using FS2002, by the way.Let's say that I'm in Juneau (Alaska) and the weather says that it's snowing outside. When I'm in the cockpit however, I don't see the snow falling. The only time I can see it fall is when I go into SPOT/CHASE mode and looking at the nose of the aircraft.What settings do I need to set (if any).Thanks.Steve

I recently downloaded an A320 panel, but am dissatisfied with the quality of the .wav files corresponding to the altitude callouts.Any suggestions on how to obtain higher quality altitude callouts? Perhaps you could recommend a different FS2002 panel (or even an FS2000 panel, since I'm only seeking the .wav files).Thanks.

What the heck is goin on? Every time I try to land any of my "heavy" a/c, the dang thing always takes a little skip-bounce on touchdown with the main landing gear. I used to be able to "stick" my landings most of the time.I've tried many different settings - diff. fuel loads, diff. descent rates - I landed once with a VSI reading of less than 100fpm, but I keep bouncing onto the runway, before it finally settles down.Anyone else got the "bouncies"????any clue?MouseIs there any way to "alter" the weight of the a/c in the fs2002.cfg file to possible eliminate this situation?

Has anyone found the best fix for flashing scenery textures? I just downloaded and installed the Nantucket airport and even though the terminal and other buildings have been faithfully recreated, many of these structures flash continuously. On the other hand most of the scenery I use flash to only a minor extent. Hi,Got a new 80GB HDD after my old one failed. I formatted the new drive and can run Windows on it. Now I plugged in my old backup drive and I keep getting cannot load operating system during boot. So I go into XP Recovery console and when it scans the disks, it says that they're both disk 0! Shouldn't one (probably the backup as it's a slave) be disk 1? Is it possible to change this number?Thanks,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I thought a while back I read that people were altering the ground scenery textures in a CFG file or something, and that this would yield more crispness and less of those dreaded blurries. I got FS METEO last summer and love it, especially the winds aloft. But I can't seem to generate winds on the surface beyond 1 knt. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Searched the forum but it kept giving me 'closed connection'. File search didn't result in much either.I'm sure this question has been asked before.I'm looking for a High res IFR panel(elite style) with gauges that have a higher freq of update than for example the IFR panel that comes with the default 182.Basically something that looks and feels like the elite sim.
